We both still have ashes to deal with'

Stewart is asked about whether Helen’s husband, John Sinfield, was cremated, or whether he had a grave Helen would visit.

He said that Helen’s husband was cremated, and she had kept the ashes.

He also said he had his late wife’s ashes.

“That was a mistake we both made independently. We both still have ashes to deal with”, he said.

He said Helen thought about scattering her husband’s ashes on the Northumberland coast, but he couldn’t remember exactly where

my comment - and now Helen's family have more ashes to scatter

@Alyce - oh good catch. So her multi-million £ authoring is a hobby!! Male pride couldn't take becoming Mr Bailey?

That doesn't sound right to me from what little I do know about hair analysis. Her hair, to my knowledge was always below shoulders. Didn't it say somewhere 35 cm was tested and it showed the sleeping tablet use back as far as Jan 2016. Her hair and 35 cm of it would be long enough to tell if it showed the med use before Jan 2016.
It is confusing but they definitely say it was detected in all 4 segments of hair , so basically in the full length of her 35cm hair, though less and less the further away from the scalp they tested. But it was also mentioned that it takes 4 weeks to show up in hair samples so maybe they weren't expecing it to show up in all of the samples and so thought that the sample furthest away from the scalp might be positive due to contamination ...not realising that he may have had the 2010 stash that he was using before the January prescription.

The hair specimen was 35cm in length and analysed in four segments. This allowed us to concentrate on a timescale of early January 2016 through to early March 2016. “We have a three month time period here, so we can see if a drug has been administered over multiple occasions and what sort of time period. “The segment closest to the scalp had a significant concentration of Zopiclone present - as you move further away from the scalp the levels drop, but the drug was detected in all four segments of hair.”

I wondered if JS was still in the cupboard. Helen left clear instructions about her own ashes (Broadstairs beach, as I know from her book). I wonder if Helen, JS, Rufus & Boris have been/will be all placed together.

He reminds me so much of the ex of a pal of mine. Always the put downs about every aspect of her life.

Helen's own style was very self deprecating. It would appear IS doesn't quite realise that self deprecation is one thing, and talking about your partner is quite another.

Stewart takes a call during police interview

During the video interview, Stewart takes a phone call on his personal mobile.

He moves away from the camera screen and tells the person on the other side of the phone that he’ll have to move to the dining room as there is ‘poor reception’.

He then returns to the interview, apologising repeatedly for the phone call.

Stewart is then asked about Helen watching Arsenal. He said for the last two years, it had just been him and one of his sons who would go to actually watch the games.

I do hope so. Am sure her lovely brother will do this, if he is able to.

Gosh, that puts another spin on renewing the season ticket, doesn't it? "She would want me to" actually means "I like going with my son".

Helen 'wanted to stay in London'

Stewart is asked what other sorts of stresses Helen had.

“She was stressed about the conservatory, her dad’s health, my mum’s health, my health, her friend who has had lots of problems selling her house, she’s worried about Jamie because he doesn’t have a girlfriend, Oliver because he’s out too much, the car.”

He said Helen also worried about ‘lots of little things like putting the rubbish out’.

Stewart is then asked how Helen felt about moving to Royston.

He said: “She wanted to stay in London but she wanted to live with me.

“In London she knew one person, whereas here she had five people she could call on, which she couldn’t do in London.

“She talked in the future about us moving back to London. She missed the idea of living in London.

“Helen goes and talks to the neighbours here.”

my comment - I thought Helen had plenty of friends in London, or at least friends who she met up with in London.
She doesn't seem to have had any pals visit her in Royston - I wonder why ?

I did wonder at the time why he had been so thoughtful in renewing this

Upcoming wedding was 'getting to' Helen

Stewart is asked if there are any changes in his life, Helen’s life, or the household at the moment.

“Not that I’ve already told you. I haven’t argued with her, she hasn’t argued with the boys, nor the cleaner or the gardener.

“The only thing that was getting to her was the wedding”, he said.

There is now going to be a lunch break until 2.30pm.

my comment - call me cynical ( some do ) but there seems to be a long list provided of the people that Helen didn't argue with...why not just say no arguments or disagreements with anyone

I wonder if she talked about them moving to London on the day she died.

Me too, and it's a considerable expense. Ugh, I'm so angry!

So he proposed around the first anniversary of her husband's death and they kept it a secret. What a controlling and possessive thing to do.

Wedding plans were kept 'low key'

Stewart is asked if the upcoming wedding caused any disagreements between him and Helen.

He said no, because it was kept fairly low key.

“Because when I asked Helen to marry me which was three and a half years ago, she didn’t want to tell anyone.

“She didn’t want to go through another engagement thing, she just wanted another wedding.

“I asked her marry me about a year after she lost her husband.”

He said Helen and one of her former husband’s children were “on very bad terms” because “Helen was the other woman”.

BIB

WOW this must have been very soon after they made contact. He was in a hurry wasn't he! Maybe he didn't want anyone else to snap her up and remove the "future lifestyle" from his grasp.

Amen - Eileen is doing Helen proud, God bless her! And the framed photo of Helen in the background is a nice touch - reminding us lest we forget, that she has lost a wonderful daughter in the prime of her life in the most tragic, horrific and unjust circumstances imaginable. My admiration for this brave lady is immense.

I think that list of people are the only 'physical' people in her life who she could possibly argue with. I don't get the impression she actually interacted, in person, with anybody else. Sad that.
ETA but I think that's what Helen chose and seemed happy with.

Not necessarily, it may have been kept secret at Helen insistence ...

I think some members here seem very personally invested and are viewing everything as though Helen were their best friend ... I understand this to a point but, it does a disservice to see Stewart as 'Evil' and purely the 'bad guy' and Helen as a poor deceived saint. For many years she was, by every account we've heard, very happy with Ian, despite whether anyone here thinks he's too common, too scruffy, too uneducated. For all that time, he was enough for Helen and for all we know to this point, he wasn't abusive or controlling, all we've heard so far regarding his character is that he was a lovely bloke ... whilst it is certainly looking very much like an open and shut case, not every murderer is a psychopath or a sociopath, it's impossible for anyone here to know the full facts or make a diagnosis from 140 character tweets.

This is real life, not a TV show or novel.

Yes, it is desperately sad. All of the people who were closest to Helen - but especially her mum - must have endless 'If only' thoughts and wish to God they had had an inkling of what that monster was up to! It really is heart-breaking.
