Thanks for all the C&Ping efforts! Makes it much easier to keep track.

Ian Stewart and Helen Bailey 'would swap mobile phones'

The second video interview is now being played to jurors.

In the video, Stewart is wearing pale blue jeans and a purple t-shirt. He can be seen sat on a brown leather armchair.

Stewart is first asked about mobile phones - he says Helen has an iPhone 6. He is asked whether they would use each others phones, and answers: “occasionally I would swap”.

He said he didn’t swap phones with Helen on April 11, 2016.

He said he couldn’t remember when he last saw Helen’s phone, but that he hasn’t seen it since she was missing.

The length of time Helen had been ingesting the sleeping tablets would be clear from hair analysis.

Only up to however long her hair was though. I seem to remember they cut her hair into sections and all sections tested positive but don't recall them giving any dates before 2016.

Yep, a hair cut would have removed the earliest traces ( thinking of another famous story here, but I wont go there )

Just read the other replies (thanks guys) and arrgh it seems that Helen's hair length was only long enough for them to check back to January 2016. How frustrating!

DC Daines continues her evidence

There will now be evidence from Detective Constable Hollie Daines, who was half way through her evidence on Friday.

“On the conclusion of the interview and when the machines were switched off, Stewart said: ‘Am I still the main suspect? I must be, I must be a suspect’.

That's quite telling since they were only investigating a missing person at that stage.

Who has access to Helen's vehicles?'

He is now asked about Facebook accounts.

He said Helen had her own Facebook account and no-one else would access that.

He is asked about vehicles. He says cars in the garage include Helen’s Fiat, Helen’s Jeep, and two of his son’s cars.

He is asked if they use each other’s vehicles.

“I will drive any of them, but no-one else would.

“Helen’s insured to drive the BMW but has only done it about twice, once near the coast and once in a car park.”

I find the hair thing hard to follow as I think the hair was 35cm long and they work on a basis of hair growing a cm/month. Maybe it's accuracy issues beyond 3 months?

DC Daines continues her evidence

There will now be evidence from Detective Constable Hollie Daines, who was half way through her evidence on Friday.

“On the conclusion of the interview and when the machines were switched off, Stewart said: ‘Am I still the main suspect? I must be, I must be a suspect’.

“We explained he wasn’t a suspect, but he was a key witness.

“There was a discussion about press conferences. We asked Stewart if he wanted to do an appeal to find Helen. “He wasn’t keen on the idea, he felt the media would twist anything he would have said and that a ‘no’ would soon end up being a ‘yes’.

“He said he might write onto Helen’s blog page as a way of reaching out to her, but we asked if he could hold off.

“Searches around the area had been taken place. He said he felt he should be informed of any searches taking place that included searches to his house, as he felt like he hadn’t been told anything.”

This has been my biggest "wow" moment so far. How very very telling that comment is considering that at this stage Helen was still considered a missing person.

The other comment about "catch me off guard" is another one.

Talk about dig a hole and jump in.

That doesn't sound right to me from what little I do know about hair analysis. Her hair, to my knowledge was always below shoulders. Didn't it say somewhere 35 cm was tested and it showed the sleeping tablet use back as far as Jan 2016. Her hair and 35 cm of it would be long enough to tell if it showed the med use before Jan 2016.

Yes, although you would expect IS to realise that the police would be keeping an open mind about alternative versions of events. I think I would expect more of an on the record "I know you must be wondering if I've got anything to do with her disappearance but I promise I have no idea where she is" or similar. He certainly didn't seem worried or frightened about where she was.

Where would the family all go together?'

He is asked if Helen’s iPhone 6 connected to the BMW car. He said yes, he thinks it did.

Stewart is asked if there are any usual places they would go as a family - as in himself, Helen and his two sons.

He said: “No not really, they tend to their own thing and we tend to do our own thing.

“There’s a pub in Bassingbourn I can’t think of it’s name, there’s garden centres…”.

Stewart is asked if there are any places Helen liked to visit herself. He said Helen liked to go to London, but he couldn’t think of anywhere else off the top of his head.

“She caught the train to Cambridge sometimes by herself - do a bit of shopping, wander around, eat vegetarian food. [She liked] a place opposite King’s College, Copper Kettle.”

Yeah, he was waving a big red flag in the faces of the coppers.

'Nothing out of the ordinary'

Dr Putchaski is now being cross-examined by the defence.

He reiterates that Stewart had a major operation on the main bowel, undertaken by keyhole surgery.

He said that Stewart’s underlying health condition could cause a change to facial expressions, such as smiling - although he said he was in no way an expert on the condition.

However, when re-examined by the prosecution, he reiterated: “Stewart appeared to have a normal facial appearance, nothing struck me out of the ordinary.”

If he was taking his medication for Myasthenia Gravis his facial expression would have been normal. Re the smile. Before diagnosis and treatment a smile tends to look like a grimace due to the weakness of muscles. Also he would likely have lid lag which is where the eyelids are lowered though not always closed. Before diagnosis (or due to not taking drugs for MG) a patient tends to look rather sad/glum because of their weak facial muscles. Our forum member who was in court at the beginning of the trial seemed to be describing just this. I suspect, as I have said before, he had not been taking his medication in order to look poorly/tired to garner pity.

Interesting re the abdominal surgery. I had assumed, wrongly, that he may have had open surgery due to his complaint of pain in his abdomen. It may be the internal stitches around his navel pulled a little or could have been compressed by his trouser waist band and caused some irritation but I think he seems to be making a lot about a relatively simple surgical scar although the surgeon did say it was a major procedure.

“We also spoke about Boris the dog, we were asking about the dog’s lead and any favourite toys that would have gone with them as well

I read such questions as cops psyching him out TBHonest.

Had it been me, I would have freaked out!

Wedding plans were kept 'low key'

Stewart is asked if the upcoming wedding caused any disagreements between him and Helen.

He said no, because it was kept fairly low key.

“Because when I asked Helen to marry me which was three and a half years ago, she didn’t want to tell anyone.

“She didn’t want to go through another engagement thing, she just wanted another wedding.

“I asked her marry me about a year after she lost her husband.”

He said Helen and one of her former husband’s children were “on very bad terms” because “Helen was the other woman”.

“She did Pilates for a while in Meldreth but passed out because she twisted her leg wrongly.” ^

He always seems to have a negative story attached to everything she did. Jeez! And she's so weak! ugh
