Those who are saying she may have gone to his car for another reason...what reason? I mean, it appears she simply left with him...not stood around the car talking or debating etc...jmo.

Perhaps he said he had * whatever the something was * in his car....get to the car, he says, oops must have left it at home......shall we just nip back and get it, wont take 5 mins

Do we know if anyone tried to phone or text her between 1.00am and 4.00am? Surely her friends would have tried to locate her once they left the club? After all, they thought she'd gone to the toilet.

You'd think so, even if it was just a "not sure if you were coming back for your coat so I'll take it home and bring it over tomorrow" sort of thing.

I have one or two friends who will sometimes, if they're tired and struggling to drink anymore, say they're going to the toilet and instead will go home, to avoid everyone trying to convince them to stay out a bit longer. I hope Karen wasn't in the habit of doing this sort of thing, meaning her friends weren't too concerned that she didn't come back.

I am hopeless at linking tweets but there is an Irish reporter - Geraldine Lynagh - who is over in Glasgow covering the story and she has just tweeted about going to * a remote area outside Glasgow * where searches are underway....
she has also tweeted from Drymen, so presumably that is where she means

I just can't get my head around why she would first get in a car but then leave by foot

I am rather skeptical of the * departed on foot* story at the moment - if AP offered her a lift, as he says, then why would she not take it - at 4am on a cold dark morning

Even if she refused the offer of a lift, what person would let a lady just walk out into the night, with no coat and high heels on?

Surely you'd phone a taxi and if she refused that due to the cost, you would pay for it for her, seeing as you were the reason she'd left her friends to come to your flat.

If she didn't trust taxi drivers for safety reasons, then you'd offer to go back with her (after all, she apparently trusted him enough to go to his flat a few hours earlier).

If she didn't want that, then wouldn't you suggest calling a friend to collected her?

And if she didn't want to disturb friends and was insisting on walking home, as a last resort you would walk her home.

If she refused all of the above, then either she clearly didn't want to spend another minute with him for whatever reason, or was ridiculously independent and naive with regards to the area ................ or events didn't happen like what we're being told, imo.

And if he didn't make all those suggestions, then he should take a look at his own behaviour, regardless of whether he is involved in her disappearance.

Would she even know her way home, in the dark, considering she has only lived in the area for a few weeks? Apparently her flat was 5 kilometres away.

The fact she was very new to the area, and can't have known many people, makes leaving the club with this man seen even stranger.

BREAKING Forensics comb garden of flat where #KarenBuckley was last seen. Cop shouts to another "get a bag for items"

Forensic teams move into garden in search for missing Irish student

Forensic teams have moved into a garden on the street where missing Irish student Karen Buckley was last seen.

The 24-year-old was last seen by friends at The Sanctuary nightclub on Dumbarton Road, Glasgow, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Ms Buckley was seen on CCTV talking to a man outside the nightclub, across from the Western Infirmary and Byres Road, and police said he is "helping them with their enquiries".

The man helping police with the investigation has been named locally as 21-year-old Alexander Pacteau

Slightly off topic but love your Avatar today Skibaboo ..... I have my candle lit x

If Karen WAS seen on video after leaving the apartment...surely police would say so, in order to ask for witnesses, by saying exactly where and when.

On the other hand, if there are so many cameras, the man in question should have been seen leaving again, carrying her, etc...

Anybody having a lot of tech issues with Websleuths recently? Keep just getting a solid blue box that I can't type in rather than a white one that I can  I've gone to advanced reply to type this but it's irritating.

Anyhoo, I don't know if Karen is a smoker but a lot of clubs have a smoking area out the front so it's possible she went to the loo and then for a cigarette rather than left the club with the intention of going elsewhere. Sorry if that's already been mentioned.

Karen Buckley: Police divers join search for missing student

<snips>
Police divers have joined the search for an Irish student who went missing following a night out in Glasgow.

BBC Scotland understands he is 21-year-old Alexander Pacteau, who has been interviewed by police but is not being treated as a suspect.
Miss Buckley's bag was found in Dawsholm Park, close to Mr Pacteau's home, on Tuesday afternoon.

Specialist officers are carrying out a detailed search of the park, which is in the Kelvinside area of the city.

They are being supported by the Police Scotland helicopter, as well as the force's underwater unit, police search dogs and specialist crime division.
Other sites in the area are also being searched, with officers saying they are "gravely concerned" for the wellbeing of Miss Buckley, whose parents have flown to Scotland from their home in Ireland.

When trying to find a correct timeline for this case, I noticed this on the official Scotland Police page:

“Yesterday (Monday 13th April) we appealed for a man she was seen with on CCTV walking along Dumbarton Road after she left the club; we have traced him and he is assisting us with our enquiries.

Nothing about her getting into a car outside of the club, or being driven to the flat.

The only reference to a car is the one which was seen hours after she left the nightclub: “Also from our enquiries, we are keen to trace a grey car – no model or make at this time – which was seen on the country roads between Milngavie and Drymen between 11am and 3pm on Monday.

Has that information changed since the start of this investigation? As I'm sure I'd read about her getting into his car in the media? Or am I going mad?
