I wouldn’t have thought she took her own life (without knowing her) because I assume police have looked through her computer and there would have been more clues there eg research of methods. In our area missing appeals where someone is potentially suicidal are worded in a way that may indicate that. Also bodies are usually located - they want the pain to stop but no particular desire to ‘disappear’.

I dont believe anyone posting on this thread knows Leah.

As to finding out that she was possibly suicidal via her pc - that is not a fool proof method. I know of 2 people who committed suicide. No indication whatsoever from either of them that anything was wrong and they left no trail of internet searches.

I think the same. A guy I know who had showed no signs of any mental health issues at all had a pretty row with his girlfriend and just ran out in front of a lorry with no warning, they were arguing at the side of the road and he just threw himself in front of it.

No searches were found about him planning it, no notes, no history at all of anything just did it completely out of the blue.

I think some people may know of the family in some way at least on here but just dont admit to it.

It's confusing. It's not clear on whether it's her hoodie or not, whether it's just been seen or Police have it in their possession. It's not very clear either on when and where it was seen, recently or some time ago, in the lake around the lake or near the lake.

It's possible the Crimewatch and This Morning appeals have triggered someone's memory maybe? IMO

Yes, that will be it , I imagine

Just listening to Claire talking by the lake - and how she references someone coming forward after 7 and half months. Making me wonder, does this mean someone has reported seeing the jumper at an earlier date ? and only now come forward with the information ?

Could be someone who reported it early on. Thought 'well I told the Police so they will act upon it' and now with the mum saying she wants her daughter's body, has been spurred on to report it again?

So we've got a Leah going out on Valentine's Day evening having told her parents she was seeing friends. But it turned out she didn't go to friends, she went elsewhere.

We've got her returning home and going straight to her room.

We've got a married man that was allegedly dating Leah that Leah's family were not happy about who also worked at the same place as Leah.

And we've got Leah vanishing on her way to said workplace the following morning after Valentine's Day.

*Knock knock*

"It's me, Occam. I've been waiting quite some time."

The dating an older man is news to me. Clearly I'm not keeping up at the back

Missing Leah Croucher's brother warned over threats to her married boyfriend after blaming him for her disappearance

'On May 13, he had posted a picture on social media, with a message saying: “Was suppose to have court today as I’m attacking Leah’s ex-boyfriend, 27-years-old, married and Muslimwho in our opinion groomed and mistreated her he had mk finest in his name, he *advertiser censored**ed with the wrong people'

BBM

Interesting turn of phrase...

Thanks for this. I was confused until I read this.

I think the police would of course have been all over AC as it does seem the most likely scenario that he would have something to do with it. But the fact they have looked into him and don't think he's a suspect says that they must have something really concrete to rule him out. Maybe they have looked through all his phone records and messages and it proves his relationship with Leah ended quite some time ago and he's had no contact with her since. Maybe he was out of area during the disappearance and they can prove it.

My theory is that Leah had entered into a new relationship with someone else and no one else knew about it because it was so new but also that potentially there was some need for secrecy about it, maybe another older man or something similar. Either this person was a predator who was preying on her from the start and planned her disappearance or something has happened in the heat of the moment and they've simply been unusually fortunate getting away with it for this long.

Leah sounds like someone quite shy, naive and young at heart. When they did a tour of her room on This Morning you saw that she loved to read fantasy and adventure stories - twilight stuck out to me particularly as it's a story about a girl who is quiet and reclusive (like Leah) getting into this whirlwind romantic dangerous adventure with this much older experienced guy and I feel like Leah loved this sort of thing as she was longing for someone to bring exciting romance into her life and unfortunately I think that is what she has found but it has taken a dark turn.

My other thought based on the distressed girl by the lake sighting and police saying (either the This Morning clip or crimestoppers, can't remember which) that she'd been anxious or worried about something recently, was that following things going south with whatever relationship, she was feeling unable to cope and took her own life. But of course unless she's gone somewhere very remote for this it seems very unlikely given no body after 7 months.

(Disclaimer - not hating on or passing judgement on twilight series at all, merely an observation into Leah's potential mindset and personality through her choice of reading! I myself loved a bit of vampire/horror/fantasy books as a teen and it definitely said something about my personality so feel like I have a bit of insight)

I agree- I sincerely doubt that this happening the day after Valentine's day was a coincidence. And you don't lie about seeing a friend.

Is it possible that she swapped sims rather than turned off her phone ? Or altered settings
Maybe the times she was known to switch off were actually the times she was speaking to someone else
It's also possible that the other person got her the sim and insisted she use it to contact them

If for example she was having a very secret relationship with both parties using second sims its possible she was still ok and communicating for hours after 08.15
Hence the possible sightings hours later around the lake

If she had definitely never turned off her location before that's odd

I was not sure how dual sims phones may work ..I know you can have different levels of activity on each sim ..as in one completley off , both on , etc ..but if that was the case it would have likely have happened before

I’m pretty sure it was posted here that checks had been done with Samsung and Google and she had never before turned off location services.

It must have been in this interview:

Andy Collins - The mother of missing Milton Keynes teenager Leah Croucher - BBC Sounds - New BBC radio interview with Leah's mum
[Wrote a summary because it will disappear from the BBC website at some point]

Timeline on the 14th
  • Leah walked home on the 14th.
  • Her location setting was turned off in the Furzton Lake area before arriving home. [So it sounds like the 5:20 time is correct and not 5:45 like some articles have reported].
  • When Leah came home she had a brief chat with her mum and got changed into normal clothes (joggers).
  • Leah said she was going to a friend's house and left on foot just after 6pm. It's possible someone may have picked her up further down the road but she didn't phone a taxi.
  • She was home by 7/7:15 and ordered herself a takeaway because she didn't like the meal her parents were making.
  • Her mum asked Leah if her friend is okay and she said yes. No sign of anything untoward.
Info on the 15th
  • On the 15th she was last seen on CCTV at 8:13. Her phone was turned off at 8:34.
  • Police assume, based off previous days, that she might have been on the same side of Furzton Lake as where the clothes were found the other day.
  • Her parents only found out Leah lied about where she went after she disappeared and her friend said they didn't see her. None of her other friends saw her either.
  • They've known about this lie for a while, but her parents agreed to do a public appeal for information on the 14th as the line of inquiry has come to a dead end and they need the public to come forward with information.
  • If anyone was with Leah during this 90 minutes, they desperately need this person to come forward so that the police can rule out this time frame as being connected to her disappearance.
  • Leah's mum has no idea where she may have gone, and from her point of view there would be no reason for her to lie. Her mum has no problems with her friends; they're welcome at the Crouchers and Leah's welcome to go to anyone else's. She's 19 years old and her friends are "decent people". The fact that she lied is a huge red flag for her mum.
  • They're not 100% certain Leah turned off the location settings and she and John have come up with loads of theories. Technically it's possible someone else changed her settings on her phone without her knowledge but there's no evidence of that.
  • They've contacted Samsung and Google and Leah never turned off her location settings before that evening, not even once.
  • Leah's mum has read lots of comments on FB saying that it seems like her mum thought Leah was kidnapped at the beginning and now she thinks she's run away. Her mum says her views haven't changed, she simply doesn't want to think of her daughter as being locked up somewhere or killed. She has to force herself to believe that Leah has run away to cope day to day. If she thinks that Leah is "at the bottom of the lake somewhere" she won't be able to cope.
  • It's hard enough to stay positive without comments online saying the family are putting out mixed messages.
