I could be wrong here but they were holding him on abduction charges...They had to have a certain amount of evidence on the relevant charges to keep him in custody all that time.
Yes but then he was released so the evidence wasn't that convincing.

The law says you are innocent until proven guilty. They don't even seem to have enough on him for abduction. He must have iron clad proof that he dropped her off and went his seperate ways.

Perhaps the police are using him to look like they have a clue when really they don't?

I’m feeling the same and wondering if the police are trying to blame “the local nutter/oddball/flasher” for this high profile case, same as what happened with Barry George being fitted up (and subsequently cleared) of Jill Dando’s murder
I wouldn’t go that far but I know what you mean. If after going through his house numerous times and forensically searching his car, questioning him for 4 days and having at their disposal every cctv camera in Hull and they haven’t got enough to find LS let alone charge the main suspect I feel that something big has been missed.
As I said previously I really hope I am proved wrong

These are now all confirmed times for that night

11:18 Libby refused entry at Welly
11:22 put in taxi
11:29 arrives Wellesley Avenue outside her home
11:40-45 on bench, talks to GreyBeard
11:49 car arrives Haworth Street
12:09 car leaves Haworth Street

Sorry, I meant on passenger side!

Absolutely baffled as to what the driver is wearing though! I do feel like driver seems to be bare legs as can see definition of knees I think?!

JMO
Depending on which site you view it from there are some that appear much clearer than others.

There was one particular view of the spider web video where I finally felt I saw he had on some type of either biker shorts or workout shorts that went down past his knees a little ways. They were of a stretchy material and tight against the skin and went down past the knees a little ways. The only reason I think I saw it was I saw the ring where the leg of the shorts ended past his knee area just a little ways past the knee.

There is no proof to say he picked her up in the first place let alone dropped her off.

He doesn't need to prove anything.

This is the point I was trying to make. You can put as much sway on the cobweb car as you like but it’s not evidence.
If there was any actual evidence that LS had been in his Astra and due to the fact she is still missing he would have been charged with abduction. They would have months before the trial to find LS to complete the puzzle.

Doesn't work like that though does it.

They can't say to CPS we have this guy and we think he abducted someone but don't quite have the proof so can we charge him with abduction and hope we have the proof before trial??

CPS would wet themselves laughing.

Why rush abduction charges if they don't meet the threshold? they have him on other charges that he is going to more than likely get a prison term for.

They can charge him with abduction or anything else when they get the evidence.

Roy whiting wasn't charged with Sarah Payne murder till 7 months later...They didn't have to rush and make any mistakes he was locked up on driving offences.

I can’t stop questioning P’s wife’s level of awareness that something untoward was going on with her husband. On a basic, practical level, they are working in a food factory, and have two young children. They are likely on minimum wage and living in modestly sized terrace house. P is alleged to have stolen a Kindle, a Playstation, a speaker, laptop, money... aside from the underwear, photograph (of who?!), condoms (why?!) and sex toys. Assuming that the non sexual items were taken for monetary value then he probably brought them home, maybe advertised them on Gumtree or sold through word of mouth. But no matter what way he went about it, it’s very likely that Mrs P would have at some point wondered where all the money/ expensive items were coming from. Also. How stupid/ brazen does he have to be to steal in his OWN street. Adrenaline junkie.

That's interesting to know!

Doesn't mean he won't be re-arrested and charged when they have more though.

They could be just under the threshold for charges (They could be nowhere near).

But he's still a person of interest so they havnt given up on that line of enquiry just yet.
