I'm not sure from the last update of the day whether the youth's counsel was referring to AW's youtube history or the youth's.

It sounds as if AW is denying she was using her phone, but I can't see why his defence would be submitting data that makes the case for him using her phone even worse.

Following a lengthy, legal discussion away from the jury, Caroline Rees QC asks for CCTV footage from the daylight hours of July 31, 2021, to be played to the jury, who have now returned to court.

John Hipkin QC, for the youth defendant, cross examines Michelle Claxton.

He makes reference to the curtains in Logan’s bedroom opening after Cole and his client leave the house, with Cole holding Logan’s body.

The barrister said there was a 54 second gap between Cole and the youth leaving the house and the curtains opening.

Ms Claxton confirms this.

Mr Hipkin also referred to Williamson viewing 17 YouTube videos.

He said: “They show esoteric interests don’t they?”

Ms Claxton said: “Yes.”

The barrister runs through the topics of the videos.

These included:

“Spoon used to remove man’s cyst”

“Dr Pimple Popper”

“Large black head extraction”

“Professional make-up artist”

“BMW”

“Conjoined sisters”

“Pain Management”

“TMI accessory tragus removal”

“Cleaning big long toenail”.

Mr Hipkins said: “There’s an issue about whether it’s Angharad Williamson (using the phone). Can you just confirm you were sent a schedule by the defence (for the youth) to check to see what pattern of YouTube activity there was in the past?”

Ms Claxton said: “Yes.”

Mr Hipkins continued: “The data you were given was between June 2 and August 1, 2021.”

He said that during this time, Dr Pimple Popper videos had been viewed 27 times.

The “Large black head extraction” video had been viewed 140 times between 2019 and 2021.

The court was also told toenail videos had been viewed three times between June and August 2021.

Ms Rees says the trial cannot proceed further today so the jury are sent home.

The trial will resume tomorrow morning.

She is not remotely innocent! The nearest thing she gets to being innocent is that perhaps she didn't deal the fatal blow to her son.

For any mother who sees her son collapsing, staggering around, groaning in pain, bleeding, passing out, weeping, struggling for breath... and DOES NOT ring for immediate assistance, she is already complicit in causing death.

For any mother who is aware that a grown violent man and a grown violent teen have mercilessly attacked her tiny boy and severely injured him and does not immediately ask the police to handle the situation and get her and her baby to a place of safety, she is already complicit in causing death.

For any mother who decides after her little boy has died to comply with an insane childish ill thought out cover up scam perpetrated by violent criminals and murderers, intending to frame an innocent woman for abduction to boot... there are no words.

Where in this timeline of days of violence, insanity, and evil doing is the part where AW was 'innocent' ? The only bit she didn't take part in is putting Logan in the river.

"On Thursday, jurors were told about the "schedule of events" that happened around the time of the killing - including a number of videos watched on YouTube - that had been accessed from the Google account of Logan's mum Williamson.

Cardiff Crown Court heard that the videos watched included "Spoon used to remove man’s cyst”, “Dr Pimple Popper” and “Cleaning big long toenail”. There is dispute over who was using Williamson’s phone to access the videos, but analysis of the defendant’s phone prior to the night in question revealed she had watched similar videos including Dr Pimple Popper and videos of a surgical and medical nature.
And the prosecution has not been able to establish whether these videos were watched before or after Logan had died. However, it presented the evidence as part of what was going on in the flat at the time of the killing.

She had been acting all morning, on the 999 call, when police arrived, at the hospital. All in furtherance of making out she knew absolutely nothing about his death. No mother would change her dying sons pyjamas and leave him dumped in the freezing river for 4 hours thinking he's still alive. Police didn't tell her he was in the water but she knew.

Not really because then AW went on about 'I should have taught him to swim' etc prior to being told Logan was located.

Also, it struck me that when officers informed her they were trying to save Logan, she became terrified that he was maybe somehow alive and going to be revived.

I didn't realise there's only two bedrooms in AW's house. So, there's AW and the baby, JC, the Youth, and Logan. Two adults, one with a string of convictions, one violent and disturbed youth, a lively energetic infant and a tiny baby. In two bedrooms. Is there even a downstairs space or semblance of privacy for the Youth ? Was he bunking in with Logan?

Not a tiny baby - he was born in January 2020 so a toddler.

Detective sergeant in digital forensic investigations gives evidence
The trial resumes.

The first witness to give evidence is Scot Anderson, who is giving evidence via video link.

He is detective sergeant in digital forensic investigations at South Wales Police.

On August 1, 2021, he began carrying out investigations of digital devices belonging to Cole, Williamson and the youth defendant.

The devices included a Samsung Galaxy S5 belonging to John Cole, a black Samsung Galaxy Prime belonging to the youth defendant, and a Samsung Galaxy A12 in a pink glitter case belonging to Angharad Williamson, a Galaxy A32, and a Galaxy tab.

Prosecutor Caroline Rees QC asks about a review into Williamson’s phone and Cloud data.

DS Anderson reviewed the report of Google activity on Williamson’s phone including internet browsing and YouTube activity.

A video entitled “Large black head extraction….” had been viewed at 1.17am on July 31, 2021.

Videos with the words “black head” in its title had been viewed around 140 times since November 8, 2019.

Phones belonging to Cole and the youth were also analysed to see if videos involving “black heads” or “Dr Pimple Popper” had been viewed, but no videos of this description had been accessed.

On May 4, 2021, Williamson sent a photograph of a hand and engagement ring sent to a contact.

A typed message to the same contact read: “Hiya hunny, sorry I have not been in contact much this year…. With Covid it’s been a manic year. Hope you’re well, you are always in my thoughts. I’m always telling Jay stories about what we used to get up to”.

The court heard in between these two messages, Williamson’s phone accessed a Dr Pimple Popper video about black heads.

Cross examination for Cole - 'Assist the jury'
David Elias QC, for Cole, cross examines DS Anderson.

He makes reference to the “Large black head extraction….” video and asks the officer he was looking for “patterns of viewing”

Mr Elias said: “What you found was it appeared on the device linked to Angharad Williamson that on 140 occasions from November 8, 2019, similar black head videos had been viewed.”

DS Anderson said: “That’s right.”

Mr Elias said: “The reason to do this was to assist the jury who might have been using that phone in the early hours of July 31, 2021.”

DS Anderson said: “That’s right.”

Peter Rouch QC, for Williamson, refers to a report from expert witness Matthew Jackson who is instructed on behalf of Williamson

The barrister said: “All of that (phone) information came from the report of Mr Jackson didn’t it. All you did was repeat and replicate Mr Jackson’s report.”

DS Anderson said: “Yes I verified his information and replicated it.”

The witness has finished his evidence and the court adjourns for a 15 minute break.
