Havant police have released this statement, I hope this ok to post

Please see a message from Detective Chief Superintendent Scott MacKechnie in relation to the investigation into 16-year-old Louise's disappearance.

“Following our update yesterday (Thursday 21 May) we wanted to let you know where we were with our investigation, as we know how upsetting the news has been overnight.

“Until formal identification procedures have been completed, we will be unable to confirm the identity of the body found at Havant Thicket. We have to be able to provide certainty to Louise’s family and also the community that Louise lived in.

“Sometimes these processes can take longer than people expect, so we hope that you understand we are doing all that we can to get this done as quickly as possible.

“Our specialist officers continue to support Louise’s family at this very difficult time and this has been explained to them.

“We remain focused on working hard to establish the exact circumstances that led to our discovery yesterday.

“We have really valued the support we have had from the community so far, we know that this is a very difficult time, but we ask that you do not speculate on social media, as this can cause even further distress to family and friends who may be reading these posts, so please bear that in mind.

“As soon as we are in a position to update you all, we will.

“While these very importance processes take place, our officers will continue to be conducting enquires in the Leigh Park area, and the extensive forensic work will continue for some days in the Havant Thicket.

“If you have any concerns, please speak to one of our officers who will be in the area today.”

The latest police announcement (only a day after the last one) stating they still have not had official identification and not to speculate etc seems odd to me ..its unusual for police to give an update that's not actually an update.
I'm wondering if this stems from family as on "official" support page family even tonight seem adamant that the search goes on ...now I totally understand that any family will not want to give up hope I really do ..but surely the family have been told the likelihood of this being Louise

THIS explains a post on another local group where the admins have asked people NOT to comment about it being Louise! And people are gunning for one of the admins saying she is a hypocrite, I couldn’t work out what she had done wrong. Turns out the admin on that group is the lady mentioned in this report who laid the flowers..!! Now I see why they refer to her as being a hypocrite! Asking people on her group to not assume it is Louise and stating they will not be accepting any new members due to too much press intrusion and there she was talking to the press!!!

A resident living below the flat being searched by police told how the couple were led out by police in handcuffs on May 15.

He said: ‘I let the officers in. A short while later they emerged with the occupants of the flat upstairs and took them outside in handcuffs.

A neighbour said: ‘I told the officers that he (who?) was here sometime between 1.30pm and 4.30pm on May 8.

‘Last Friday police started searching the house. They were there all throughout last weekend. Bbm ? My question

Today police officers guarded the door of the flat owned by the man and woman and forensics officers in white PPE overalls searched inside.

One middle aged woman who lives in the block today said: "We had sniffer dogs yesterday. Over the past week we've had vans arriving and taking clothing, carpets - basically everything.

"There's been a huge police presence and they've been bringing loads out.

Describing the couple, she said: "I never had any complaints against him, he'd always say hi but it was only general chit chat."

The man in his 20s said: "She wanted to see her boyfriend... they were on and off.

Louise was due to return home to spend the weekend with her boyfriend, who had come over to stay.
Distraught mum of missing girl, 16, found dead in bush 'devastated' amid claim they had 'dispute' before she vanished

So, where’s the boyfriend? If Louise had already been staying with the couple before the weekend came - article states boyfriend had come over to stay. So was boyfriend staying at mother’s home while Louise was staying with couple? I tend to think the argument between mother and daughter was about Louise’s boyfriend. Where’s the boyfriend? Or is this just bad journalism? imo bbm

Yes the argument was about the boyfriend, I don’t think he had arrived.. but we have heard nothing about him really

No I shouldn’t have posted as I had my doubts, I’m slowly learning what we can and can’t post so I expect my post to be deleted! Apologies! There is such a fine line and I will eventually get the hang of it!

I know the rules. I do. I was wrong. Emotions sometimes blur the focus. Deletions still sting a bit and I do get them. I use it as a constructive criticism tool and I figure it out. Humans...we care so much sometimes, logic goes right out the window. Experience. She is a tough teacher. She gives the tests first, the lessons afterwards.

Oh you’re right there! The amount of time I wanted to reply to messages and I’ve doubted whether I can say it or not! As my mum always says. If you have to think about it then, it’s wrong. Hence why I asked on my post if I could post it, I kind of knew! I had a few messages deleted last night and as you say experience is a tough teacher

Things I've taken from the Daily Mail article

He said: 'I saw Louise enter Tesco with another man, her cousin's husband, in the afternoon and then I saw her later in the day on her own buying a bag of ice'

The man arrested?

'The police came back again this morning. I understand they are now looking for a pair of trainers and some petrol.'
may explain why the body is hard to identify.

'it also emerged yesterday that Louise's mother wrote on Facebook the day before police found a body how frustrated she was not being able to look for her daughter.'

She wrote on Wednesday night, I want to scream from the rooftops that I want to be looking everywhere.

'I have been told not to go searching the Thicket and Leigh Park Gardens, any search must be away from there.'

The police specifically told the mother not to search the place where the body was found before they found it. What did they already know?
