There has been so much activity, people about, that I am sure it is completely unlikely someone could have planted a body there since she went missing - but in this image given says the police were at the caravan park, is that coincidence or could they have reason to believe since finding the body someone could have been involved? So sad/tragic all around, but thankfully her loved one are closer to having answers:(

I think it's the news nobody wanted but most expected. It always made the most logical sense to me given the proximity to the water. I doubt we will ever truly know what really happened that morning but I hope her partner/family/friends are left in peace to grieve and come to terms with their enormous loss.

A spokesperson for Lancashire police said: "This morning, Sunday, 19 February, you may be aware of police activity around the river near to St Michaels. We want to provide you with an update on that activity.

"We were called today at 11:36am to reports of a body in the River Wyre, close to Rawcliffe Road.

"An underwater search team and specialist officers have subsequently attended the scene, entered the water and have sadly recovered a body.

"No formal identification has yet been carried out, so we are unable to say whether this is Nicola Bulley at this time.

"Procedures to identify the body are on-going.

"We are currently treating the death as unexplained.

I just can’t understand if had been searched by both police divers and SGI, why wasn’t she located before. JMO.
It's tidal from the weir & LP explained why river complex

Also remember that RNLI commander explained ' snagging' was a real possibility ( Snagging elsewhere followed by dislodging)
( Am not saying that I think that has happened, but it was always a possibility. IDK if sonar was used in that stretch -will need to check media links)

I hope they have found Nicola today and she can finally be laid to rest. Thoughts with her family and friends and thanks to everyone here for caring and updating the thread with news.

A sad day, but as always, better to know than not know.

Not what anyone wanted but will give some closure to family and hopefully the end of extremely inappropriate public involvement by attending the area and filming. The speculation around this incident has been horrific. Many have said the simplest outcome is the most likely and I think that will be proved.

Hard for anyone to gather their thoughts at this time but my heart goes out to her family as they now await, what looks to be the inevitable.

Penny for PFs thoughts too following the ‘100%’ certainty that a body wasn’t in the river.

The body could have been in deep mud or in weeds. Many times bodies are missed the first time, for various reasons. A body of water is the hardest medium to search, especially a river in which a body can travel for miles.

We also don't know where the body was at the time of the initial searches. It may not have been in the same place it was located.

This has made me cry, my heart goes out to her family, friends, loved ones and poor loyal Willow if this NB. My heart also goes out to the people who have originally spotted the body, must be terrible, the stuff of nightmares. Hope they get lots of help. I

Searching in water is a horrendously difficult task. I’ve followed all the discussion on here and much of the expert opinion has been that it could well be weeks down the line that any body would be recovered.
That’s right and some cases the bodies haven’t been found for months, some are never found at all. The Police divers searched previously and PF as well but just because they didn’t find her that didn’t mean she was not there. Sadly, most bodies are apparently found by being spotted by members of the public. If it is Nicola, absolutely devastating for her poor children and family. Will they be able to tell if it was an accident? If it is Nicola and it was an accident if she fell in, I wonder what the LP will feel about releasing the details they released during the last Press Conference. Even if it was an accident which might not be able to be proven, the details they have released will inevitably lead people to assume otherwise. If they hadn’t made the sensitive information public and if they had instead held off, she would have been found and the information would not need to have been released. I wonder if they are regretting it now.
