in this interview dr bohin tells of the process of how she came to the conclusion of air embolism when looking at the med files. The way she describes it is fitting with others accounts and very damning. Looking at dr evans testimony and this account of hers it Would seem they both immediately thought AE when looking at the case files. This is quite damning. Almost immediately thought AE. Very shocking IMO.

That’s an interesting article and I might think that Lucy letby actually capitalised on the busyness one unit. In essence yes these staff were stretched and the unit as a whole under allot of pressure but I don’t think it could lead to the deaths and events of the unit. That if anything is another cover up on her part.

New from Mail on NICU nurse JC

'The 'best friend' of Lucy Letby last night continued to profess that the baby killer nurse was innocent of murdering seven babies and harming six others.' Janet Cox, who worked alongside the 33-year-old on the neonatal unit of the Countess of Chester Hospital, said she would continue to stand by Britain's most prolific serial child killer as her legal team consider an appeal.......
For most of Letby's trial, Mrs Cox sat beside the killer's parents, John, 77, and Susan, 63, in the public gallery of Court 7 at Manchester Crown Court.....
Mrs Cox was with her friends when the jury returned their first verdicts, and again when they found her guilty of the first of seven murders. On that occasion she comforted Mrs Letby as she left court sobbing and crying: 'This cannot be right'

Ofc it's probably not possible to guess but I'd be curious to read any evidence she gave to this trial and watch any interviews she gave to LE back in 2018. ( I noticed one nurse testify wtte that she'd come to court ti point out that blame for a monitor being switched off was the fault of Drs Harkness & Gibb - despite the Drs evidence at trial)

Being totally frank with LE on your recollections of LL at NICU & re LL's own behaviour over last few years could, potentially, really help the parents who have no verdict or have no answers, as LE start on their second phase and review of all cases 2012+

the BTL comments are interesting

Looks like they've managed to create a whole new article from her saying one word - "yes"

Mrs Cox spoke briefly at the front door of her semi-detached home in Ellesmere Port on the Wirral when approached by MailOnline.

Asked whether she still believed in her friend's innocence, she replied 'Yes' but refused to elaborate further.

DM specialise in 'churnalism'
nonetheless, once Karen Rees/Moore reads that article and sees that 'Yes', and seeing as Karen claims she was ' duped', now's the time for Karen to contact JC and have a word....

PS is JC still working at NICU there? I didn't spot that in the DM piece

JC has apparently retired . Hence her being able to attend the trial so often.

so JCox did hear all the graphic evidence. Evidence similar to that quoted below.

Times link as just posted by WS-er ParkerKnoll , a few posts ago, if you scroll up

Bohin, who reviewed cases for the prosecution of Letby, described how some of the babies “screamed” after being attacked by the nurse. “Babies will cry if they are in pain, obviously, such as when you take blood or put in a drip,” she said.
“That hurts, and there’s no getting away from it. But to have a premature baby screaming is really unusual. What was described on the ward was babies screaming for up to 30 minutes. Now that is just unheard of. Somebody had done something to cause those babies extreme pain.”

sickening

also from your link:

'Letby also managed to slip through the gaps in the coronial system. Hospital managers asked the Cheshire coroner, Dr Nicholas Rheinberg, to investigate the seven baby deaths in February 2017. The coroner declined, according to sources, telling the trust he was not a “quality-assurance service” for the NHS. Rheinberg retired that year.'

ETA have checked him out, he was born 1949 so retirement was well due

bit more from Times - CoC have completed their report or they are busy tweaking the final report to CYA in light of info released since verdict. I hope families can force the publication rather than be made to wait years more :

'An internal investigation into how the scandal was handled by managers was commissioned by former chief executive Susan Gilby, who joined the trust in 2018.
She believes it has been finished and should be published. “The explicit plan was for it to be published straight after the trial verdict, as I knew a government inquiry could take years. The families deserve to know the truth about what happened,” she said.
The Countess of Chester trust said the report needed legal checks and had not yet been finalised, adding it would want to discuss its publication with the new inquiry chairman first
.'

do you mean this?
'This woman didn't turn up one day and start giving babies intravenous air,' Dr Evans said. 'Letby must have done something before then (June 2015)

Possibly yes, but impicit in Chesh police's 2nd phase that they also think the same.

Indeed. The worry is Letby started using the "air technique" a couple of weeks after learning about the dangers of it during a course. Was she using other techniques before then? Hopefully, the ongoing investigation can shine a light.

BAllitt who was less well trained and imo less intelligent than LL was also using the tech in the 90s.

I did hear the podcasters & press speculate that her summer training ( which also covered air embolus) might have been a trigger for the June 2015 spree but I did wonder whether it wasn't also covered in her prior training & placements 2009-2011.
A nurse who did similar/same degree might be able to speak on that. IDK

Just a thought.....
This "difficult" birth claim by LL's friend, and the way her parents "doted" on her....is it possible that LL should have been a twin, but the other baby/foetus didn't survive? Just thinking aloud.
LL is the original and it seems only source of the difficult birth story and she didn't mention it in her background story in court so I doubt it's even true. Plus I think if she had been a surviving twin she'd have made that the main part of the story to her friend.

"LL's crimes will be investigated by a judge- led inquiry, the Prime Minister has indicated."

I just wish that parents could receive some sort of interim payment for everything they have been put through and THEN make a decision on whether this should be a statutory or non statutory inquiry.
They have been living like this for years and I think they all deserve a thoroughly long holiday and compensation whilst this next very thorough inquiry takes place. I hate to think of them being persuaded into a 'quick job' .
Equally, whilst TC and the other seniors have said they will cooperate with the inquiry. Why should they not be forced to attend. Why shouldn't they have put their lives on hold in the same way these families did?
