Is it just Heathrow affected? We flew in on the other airport in London 2 years ago.I cant remember the name though. I know they were very thorough through customs.
Amy

I heard on FOX and SKY News that it was all of the airports in the UK. They are just doing the majority of reporting from Heathrow I think.

Ohh..bear claws with cream cheese sound soooooo good about right now lol I just put on a pot of coffee lol

The fear of threat is not over 21 are in custody now but they believe as many as 50 are involved in this plot.

Up to 50 people thought to be involved. 21 arrested so far that leaves way too many out there. Calling it disrupted now rather than thwarted. Still a threat.

Hi everyone!

I live in the UK and woke up to this news a couple of hours ago. Its very interesting to hear some views from the US! From experience, it takes 9 hours to get from London to Atlanta. You have to change flights to get to the West Coast from here - most change in Texas I think.

At the moment only Heathrow is closed to incoming flights and all the other UK airports are trying to run as normal - but are checking everyone and disallowing hand luggage etc.

They are also saying on the news here that there is nothing to suggest a problem today but they are being careful in case of secondary attacks.

If you have any questions for a UK gal then just ask!

If people cannot bring cellphones and other items on,what happens to those items??

Do you know how hard it is for me not to wake up hubby? LOL!He has family in England and his sister is visiting there. He just told me a few days ago he wished we could of gone to our nephews wedding Aug. 5th. He was getting married in a Castle. I'm so thankful we didn't go. I'm worried about his sister and husband though.I need to get ready to go to work. Have a great day!

Wallets and travel documents allowed but laptops etc not allowed for the time being. If you bring things that are not allowed on as hand luggage they go in with your main luggage

Hi Chickpea,:)
It is very nice to meet you and to have you here.

From the link I posted earlier it looks like the flights to the US start mid morning from London while the flights to EU start earlier around 7-8 or so. I haven't heard that there are flights in the air already from London to the US. Anyone hear differently?

Hi Dark_shadows

Its nice to meet you too.Its good to find out some more information, it looks like you guys are hearing more about it than we are at the moment! Our news is focussing on the massive delays at the moment rather than explaining about the threat.

I was wondering about cell phones too. Did anybody hear about cell phones?

I know it's a blog, but Michelle Malkin has something very interesting up about terrorists arrested in Ohio very recently, and they had over 600 cell phones bought at WalMart on them when arrested.

Here's the link to Michelle if you want to read it:

http://michellemalkin.com/archives/005695.htm

Edit to add: Well, I just reread that and it said they had 12 phones on them, but had admitted to buying over 600 in the past months and reselling them to someone else. There are other articles about terrorists and cell phones in her post also.

Remember, they tried to use cell phones in the London subway bombings didn't they?

I heard earlier no cellphones no electronic devices at all.

ETA no battery operated devices either.
