In his version of events he strangled her, COD was suffocation leaving injuries around the mouth and nose. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think she had any injuries to her neck prior to death to support NM tried to strangle her. The stabbing of the neck with a screwdriver was post mortem.

They couldn't determin if the screw driver injuries were before or after death but no, nothing to suggest strangulation.

Yes she was. But, I do think that SH was a vulnerable child at 14 when she met NH.

I'm not making excuses for her, but a child who has been in care and moved from foster home to foster home, and has failed to remain within the education system is very damaged. A child put into care, then seeing their own mother go onto have more children and keep them is going to be affected by all sorts of feelings of rejection. And when that 14 year old is taken out drinking at the age of 14 by an older sister, is introduced to men, and allowed to have a sexual relationship with a 21 year old man in her own mothers home, then I think she was highly at risk and highly vulnerable.

That said, we are all responsible for our own actions, but SH didn't have the care, guidance, support, education or stable upbringing that every child deserves.

I agree but we don't know what SH's mother's childhood was like either. Where do we draw the line?

"she played a subordinate role.... you are not going to sentence her on the basis that she took any part in an active killing" #beckywatts

She's been found guilty of manslaughter, so yes they determined she took part, and should be sentenced so

Judge adjourns to sentence at 2pm

[h=3]Shauna is not an 'evil child killer'[/h]Mr Langdon said Hoare did not intend to cause Becky serious harm.
Hoare is now crying in the dock.
She is wiping away tears while listening to barrister Mr Langdon speak on her behalf.
He said: “She has to take her share of responsibility.
“But she is not an evil child killer.”

Talk of Becky's horrific death and injuries = no response from SH

Heartbreaking victim impact statements = no response from SH

Talk of her own "tough" life = tears from SH

Jamie Reynolds got a whole life sentence and in his case I wish I believed in 'God' and reincarnation too Cause I'd give him a whole life sentence for his next 100 lives too

I didn't follow Georgia's case for some reason. But I just looked it up and this part caught my eye:

Reynolds, 23, confessed to the murder on 2 December 2013. Sentencing was delayed until 19 December, when the judge sentenced him to life imprisonment and recommended that he should never be released after reading reports from psychiatrists stating that Reynolds could progress into a serial killer. The court also heard evidence of pornographic material found on Reynolds' computer, with 72 graphic videos and more than 16,000 graphic images

Wow, sounds familiar.

Shauna Hoare's barrister asks judge to consider if Hoare and Matthews were "equally culpable". SH says NM dominated every aspect of her life

The judge has now heard all the barristers' arguments. He will return with the sentences for Matthews and Hoare at 1400. #BeckyWatts

Just been looking at the list of whole lifers and out of the whole list only 3 had no previous criminal record. ..... NMS lack of criminal record could determine the difference between life or whole life

[h=3]Judge will take into account 'cruel and unusual' crime[/h]Nathan Matthews has been rocking backwards and forwards in his chair in the dock.
He and Hoare have one prison guard sitting between them.

The judge said he had to take into account “the cruel and unusual way while searches were being conducted, a body lay dismembered in their house.
“She [Hoare] has maintained a complete refusal to be frank about what happened.”
The judge has adjourned the hearing until 2pm.

Are you seeing who is there emotionless and stone faced? Oh yes, shauna hoare. She who was so expressive when talking to the police in the interviews, explaining everything moving her arms and hands while speaking as if she was Italian (or Portuguese :))

She who cried when she saw her friend in court talking about their threesomes. Oh yes, sh cried at the time but WAS emotionless when all the graphic explanations about Becky's injuries and cut up body were discussed in the begin of the trial and IS emotionles today when the victim impact statements are read by the family!! Cold blood manipulative evil murderer!
I believe she may be the leading force in this team from hell! Throw both in prison and make sure these two never walk the streets again!

It was an horrific case. I read the Judge's sentencing remarks and they gave me nightmares for weeks afterwards.
