So horribly sad. My heart goes out to Becky and her loved ones. I was hopeful for a different outcome.

I wonder if she could have met someone on the internet and they lured her out of her home.

Respectfully snipped

This morning, we published an appeal for information from anyone who may have seen a black Vauxhall Zafira, registration number HY06 HYA, in the local area anytime between the morning of Thursday 19th February to Monday 23rd February.

We have seized this car but we need the public’s help in us tracing where it might have been during those key days.

Does anyone know if there's a way to track who this car belongs to online?

About the car, they said it's critical to find out ownership and where it was. Presumably the DVLA could confirm official ownership, I wonder if it was stolen? Although it would be pretty daft to leave it anywhere obvious...

Sounds to me like the vehicle may have been recently sold and not yet registered to a new keeper?

Legally from 2011 those details can't be sought. The car was taxed in December 2014 for a year so it must belong to someone driving it recently and the details of the person who taxed it would be available to the police service.

The officer making the statement was very cautious about who owns the car ........ is that bcos it is the arrested people who are are the current owners ? as the police are only asking for information re previous owners. By that I presume they mean information re the whereabouts of previous owners, as they should be able to get the ownership info from DVLA.

Right. Like within the last couple of days? But how would LE know that if they don't even know who currently owns it?

And with the new tax rule ( now the discs have gone and tax cant be carried over ) then the person who taxed it in December is either renewing their tax or had just bought the car....

So the previous owners are for DNA presumably ?
