I would consider it a safe source, the Bristol Post is the local newspaper and so it will be a reporter or Bristol Post employee on behalf of the reporters at the court.
Thanks. Just came back on to say I'd spotted it on Twitter.

Saw another tweet saying they can't report on legal argument today/tomorrow.

Becky's step-brother Nathan Matthews and his girlfriend Shauna Hoare stand accused of murdering her between February 18 and 25 this year.

The couple also stand accused of conspiracy to kidnap Becky, a former pupil of Summerhill Academy, perverting the course of justice, preventing her lawful burial and possession of a stun gun.

Matthews, 28, who is Anjie's son, and his girlfriend Hoare, now 22, previously of Cotton Mill Lane in Barton Hill, are expected to enter pleas to the charges today.

Alongside the pair in the dock was Jamie Ireland, 23, of Richmond Villas, Avonmouth and Donovan Demetrius, 29, previously of Marsh Lane in Barton Hill.

The pair are accused alongside Donovan's twin brother Karl and his girlfriend Jaydene Parsons, 23, also from Barton Hill, of assisting an offender.

Sec 45a YJCE ACT Press Restriction

According to the Law Pages it seems to be SH the press aren't allowed to report on.

Wonder where the other 2 are, KD and JP?

An alternative possibility is that this relates to the making of child *advertiser censored* offences, and the potential vicarious identification of any victim(s).

Odd that it's SH who's name appears to be redacted as pretty sure she isn't under 18.

Am I right in thinking that the contempt of court act us being used to allow that specific individual some protection from the media in order to get a fair trial?

Good thinking Supernovae

My guess would be that KD and JP have entered guilty pleas ( or have indicated that they will do so when asked - today or tomorrow ? ). They definately do not seem to be going on trial.

Re SH - that seems strange. She has the same charges as NM so I cant see that her defence could argue she would get an unfair trial if named. If that were agreed with the judge, then surely NM, JI and DD would have the same protection ?

YJCE=Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence act:

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1999/23/section/45

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...moj-circular-youth-reporting-restrictions.pdf

Might this mean that there's another (under 18) defendent, that we hadn't previously been aware of?

Also, section 4 Contempt of Court Act:

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1981/49/section/4

Yes, possibly could be. My belief is that whatever happened to lead to RWs death, it was not a one off situation, so there may be a juvenile willing to testify to previous events ?

If they did, there may well be temporary reporting restrictions on it to ensure a fair trial of other defendents on related charges.

Was it KD and JP that both got bail? If they did intend to plead guilty would this increase their likelihood to get bail? Also would they then be used as witnesses for the prosecution?

It was DD & JP that got conditional bail back in August (I had previously, wrongly, said KD)

I'd forgotten about there being child abuse images. The press have already mentioned SH as one of the four on trial so it seems a bit odd to have her name redacted in the court listing - don't know if that's happened since yesterday as didn't look at Courtserve for listing before today.

I agree that I think KD and JP have plead guilty & the fact that they have done so will be a mitigating factor when sentencing. Agree very odd that it appears DD was the twin who got conditional bail when he is being tried, yet KD who isn't being tried & we therefore assume has plead guilty, appears to still be on remand till sentencing? Really making me wonder whether the name of the correct brother was given as receiving bail in August!

Yes I wondered about the wrong brother had been reported as being released on bail but thought that I must surely be wrong ...

Also, SH isn't Redacted in The Law Pages court listing.

No, it was DD and JP who got the bail, back in August I think.
