Sarah Everard: Kate Middleton arrives at Clapham Common to join mourners | Daily Mail Online

13 March 2021

Kensington Palace said Kate Middleton 'remembers what it was like to walk around London at night before she was married' and 'wanted to pay her respects to the family and to Sarah', reported Sky.

Today the court heard Miss Everard's body was found inside a builder's bag in Kent and identified through the use of dental records.

[..]

Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring said: 'Mr Couzens, I am sending your case to the crown court sitting at the Central Criminal Court, what you might know as the Old Bailey. You will appear there for your first appearance on the 16th of March.

'I don't have the power to consider the question of bail. That will be considered should you wish to make an application to the court on the 16th of March.

'You are therefore remanded in custody until that date, both charges having been sent to the crown court.'

It's a tough one with this vigil. You want it to be about paying respect to Sarah but you can't blame people for getting angry about all of the women that have been let down and it overspilling into emotion.

To be honest, if I was there, I would probably be shouting the odds too.

Re builders bag, just to add that there was/is still a builders bag on his drive, its blocked from view, but it would now be left of portaloo front view of house. It was still there when they took cars when they put portaloo there and when fence went up. They could have removed it since of course but nothing noticed here x
Edit
Just gone back through photos and it has been removed.

Here is a live feed to the vigil in Clapham Common. They've just arrested a few women on the bandstand, I think I heard an officer say 4 arrests. Lots of shouts of "shame on you". One of the arrested was also telling the police they should have arrested WC after the flashing incident, and not only after a murder.

Seems like it’s descending into chaos which goes against the person I have read Sarah to be. We understand it’s emotive but shame it’s not peaceful. I will be lighting candle and shining light. That’s what they should be doing imo

The vigil looked so poignant and peaceful earlier on. Now I worry that it’s turning into a politicised agenda. Yes, as women we deserve to walk home without fear. But I feel today should have been about remembering Sarah. Just my thoughts.

Hope I’m okay to share this. A beautifully written blog by one of Sarah’s friends

This is not what Sarah would have wanted

It was super peaceful and respectful when I was there between 5-6pm - a touching tribute and quiet acknowledgment of the injustice of her loss.

Watching the live footage now... It's a shame, because what were seeing, is people who are rightfully angry. They're not 'trouble makers' in the main. They are furious, tired and hurting.

But this type of outlet for their fury won't help anyone right now.

IMO

The press is allowed to report court proceedings in the UK.

I am aware, yes. Your point? I was responding to the poster's feeling the courtroom reporting by the Scottish paper was possibly a 'mistake'.

Ahh man, just watching the footage from Clapham this evening has me in tears! Kate pushed me over the edge. So gutted for everyone, Sarahs family, BF, friends, the MET, the public, all the good people in this world and all the ones who still haven't been found.

Wayne Couzens appears in court over murder and kidnap of Sarah Everard

13 March 2021

The body of Sarah Everard was found inside a large builder’s bag, a court has heard.

Metropolitan Police officer Wayne Couzens appeared before Westminster Magistrates charged with the kidnap and murder of the 33-year-old.

Everard, a marketing executive who lived in Brixton, South London, went missing while walking home from a friend’s flat on 3 March.

Her body was discovered in the bag in woodland, in Ashford, Kent, on Wednesday, magistrates were told.

Couzens, 48, arrived at the court at 10am on Saturday morning in a large blue police van, stepping into the dock around 10.30am. He wore a grey tracksuit and appeared to have a red wound on the top of his forehead.

[..]

He spoke only to confirm his name and personal details, sitting between two plain-clothes officers in the dock and leaning forward for most of the hearing.

He did not indicate a plea and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.

Yes, it is now descending into chants of "f*ck the police". Completely understand the anger when the police were arresting people at what was supposed to be a peaceful vigil. But this shouldn't descend into anger of the police as a whole, it is not about them, but about Sarah. It is a shame, but following the cancellation of the "official" vigil it was unfortunately highly likely it would become this.

But your version of events doesn't add up in terms of how WC persuaded SE to voluntarily get in the car - i.e. he couldn't claim it had broken down then offer her a lift - unless the car miraculously started working again!

Timing wise it does not seem like he could have been stopped there long enough for her to see the car and it seem believable it had broken down, re it seems more likely it would have come to a stop just ahead of her or along side her - so to then jump out and say he had broken down would be too unbelievable for her to stop and engage surely. The theory he stopped and showed his badge under the guise of lockdown rule breaking or that there has been an attack and the police are escorting lone females home/away from the area - seem more likely.

Hello

New poster and I wanted to share my thoughts, you guys do a terrific job of really digging into the detail here so thank you.

IMO the media haven’t overstepped the mark with the reporting today, they will have been told what they can and can’t report. (Rest assured, they will have found out some horrifying details today and I suspect it relates to what happened to SE between 9:35 and the time of death, as there was no plea entered today we won’t hear this detail. When WC appears in court again on 16th, I imagine there will be a plea and we will learn some more limited information before a trial date is set, plea dependant.)

IMO WC will have held SE somewhere and this crime scene has likely been identified by LE. I also believe there will be photographic evidence, the hire car etc. speaks to premeditation and in a lot of these cases the perp will make some sort of ‘record.’

It’s also my opinion that more human remains will be recovered that are linked with WC.

I have seen much debate about how SE may have ended up in WCs vehicle and I do suspect with the mention of the two doors being open on the Astra that SE likely entered the car ‘voluntarily.’ Impossible for us to work out what happened leading to this, it may have been because WC lied coerced her in some way etc. but at this stage, I don’t believe there was a ‘struggle.’ If this was the case I’d imagine a weapon was pulled out very soon after SE entered the vehicle.

I agree with those posters who suspect that WC intended on moving the body at some stage. From the reports it would appear this was either burned or chemically rendered unidentifiable. IMO, the reports suggest the human remains were bones and teeth only.

IMO WC did not arrive home until probably 4th March during the day and he has coerced EC into lying to say that he was home overnight on the 3rd, IMO he likely wasn’t.

All of the above is speculative and at this stage WC has not been found guilty of any crime.
