Welcome, Lollipop. So basically someone here posted photos of a dog walker, who has now seen those posts and is upset about it?

This is precisely why this forum needs links and sources so we don't get a bad reputation or sleuth an innocent. Poor guy. <modsnip>
The police originally posted about the dog Walker I believe. It in the media thread with the cctv.

I understand that they don't always need a body to prove death but surely they had to have something that made them believe she was deceased? Circumstantial etc.. but wjat could that be?
With April Jones wasn't their bone fragments found in his coal/log fire?
Perhaps he was under surveillance whilst more evidence was gathered?

This was always going to be big news as apart from the Royals nothing is going on because we are all in lockdown.

You only have to see her images and she looks so young and innocent and this was always going to be huge. Nobody just vanishes in SE London without a trace and it not be a major story.

ETA - when I see her photo I’m always amazed she is 33 as she looks way younger. She just seems like the girl next door that everybody would get along with.

IMO

One of the reasons I am favouring that she was unconscious on the journey was the latter sentence. If she wasn’t unconscious, would she not have tried talking with the accused to form a bond to enhance chances of survival (even if that is just her subconscious taking over)? I have read of this happening in other cases. Moo.

I know people are feeling really sickened and scared at the moment. I think the huge majority of people will make that little extra effort to look after their community. The accused is off the streets too. Good people by far outweigh the bad. Moo.

ETA: hope Leopard is okay.

If the accused disposed of evidence, doesn't it make it the perfect place? I'd assume that the fast flowing current would make it harder for potential evidence to be found later?
It also just looks like a nice place to go for a walk without possibly raising suspicion

That’s what I mean. The quay would be the perfect place (I’d imagine) but this isn’t at the quay. This is a stagnant walkway. Even without knowing the waterways well, I would say it’s an odd choice. It’s also very open.

I keep being drawn back to the car hire situation. I appreciate it’s not really achieving anything to speculate where he hired from, I guess I’m just wondering why he hired a car.

Bear with me here!

Because he hired it in Dover part of me wonders if he’s able to sort of ‘borrow’ a car on a more informal basis from ex work contacts.

Now, I know Europcar / Hertz / Enterprise are a definite NO there. Too big. Too national. But this interests me ...

“During the 70s, BCB evolved again and expanded into vehicle body repairs from Kenning Car Hire Dover and then the Canterbury and Gillingham depots. It also became an MOT testing station until May 2015.” snipped from the KentOnline article about his dads garage closing down. (SOURCE: End of road as garage doors close for last time)

So I did some digging into ‘Kenning Car Hire’. It no longer exists, but the address came up (SOURCE: Screenshot from here https://dover.cylex-uk.co.uk/company/kenning-car---van-rental-18784121.html)

Then I took a look at GoogleMaps to see what’s in its place. And what do you know .. a new car hire place called CMW. SOURCE: screenshotted on google maps

I’m no expert on car makes and models, but would any of our vehicle experts care to take a look at the forecourt and confirm whether one of these cars fits the description of white Vauxhall Astra? Google Maps

I see what I think is a white Astra out the front.

Is it this one? My ability to identify car models is shockingly bad!

Google Maps

Ooh good spot! I’m comparing street view 2021 Google Maps with a pic of an Astra I got from here https://autovolo.co.uk/advertdetail/vauxhall/astra/9346087/

They look very similar to me. Perhaps this was his car hire place.

The car in the google picture is a Honda or a Toyota.
Its very plausible that they do have a white Astra though it’s just not in the pic.

I do think this one could be an Astra with the line down the side

Edit: What upload sites can you actually use on here?

My final try..

It is not an Astra. You can tell because the rear side windows go to a point at the bottom in this photo. An Astra rear side windows go to a point at the top.

CMW car rentals is no longer on that site, it is now Raymar Carwash as per this Dec 2020 Google street view. Company was incorporated July 2020 so probably been around since then.

I have considered whether WC knew more about SE than we have been told. Did he know she lived alone? Did he know how much further her walk home would be?
Obviously he was taking the biggest risk in kidnapping SE, but how could he be sure she wasn’t 1 min from her house and had just put the phone down to her bf saying I’ll be back in one minute, then the alarm would have been raised within the hour- it’s as if WC knew he was going to have a bit of time before the alarm was raised. Could just be a coincidence but she is of age to have husband and kids back at home who would have raised alarm immediately. JMO- keen to hear others thoughts

Would there be any weird tax loophole or something that would make his use of hire cars an actual logical thing to do?

The police only appealed for dog walkers. We posted photos of possibilities, which were clearly recognisable enough to this fella (and potentially his friends/family/colleagues)

Just saying be careful, that's all.

I feel for the dog walker as he now feels like he let her down. That’s human nature unfortunately that we blame ourselves. No doubt her boyfriend is also feeling guilty and her friends who house she left that evening.

I just think it’s fate we make choices and unfortunately bad things happen. The dog walker didn’t know what was going to happen and neither did anybody else. That’s why cases like this are so horrific as so many victims, so many what if’s and so much guilt.

IMO

Have been thinking about the alleged perpetrator's career path and working environment according to what was published in MSM articles. He seems to have been in the family body shop firm for 20 years. That will have been quite unchallenging and dependable. At the same time he was in the Territorial Army. Which has lead him on to guarding, guns, control. He guarded Dungeness Power Station which is remote and he was armed, but very little public interaction. He worked at the Port of Dover as a security guard. So in essence, he's only ended up in the big city from 2018. Driving around diplomats and politicians probably involved a lot of waiting around. Diplomats fall into that special persons capacity and his role probably again fell into guarding. He's probably had less public experience of civilian life in London than you'd expect from the description of a Metropolitan Police Officer. It had been going around my mind since reading the reports. I live out here on the Kent coast and between these towns it's quite remote. I can imagine him knowing lots of locations and not having people bothering him too much. Estuary areas, edge of city scrubland is plentiful. Driving from one area to another on quite easy roads. Hope this is ok to post this.

Just seen an article online (The Sun) that he will continue to get full pay until the trial verdict if he pleads not guilty.
I suppose this is a salutary reminder that in law a suspect is innocent until proven beyond reasonable doubt that they are guilty. Don’t know if they could recover the pay if the suspect was found guilty, legally I don’t see why not.

also, just seen this How to handle staff facing criminal charges or police investigation | Business Advice

I think they could carry out a disciplinary investigation and sack on the basis of that without waiting for the outcome of a criminal proceedings. However, that will raise SERIOUS implications on right to a fair trial if not kept utterly confidential (IMO) as adverse finding would be very prejudicial to fair trial. Therefore IMO would actually require very specialist legal advice. In short, I don’t know and IMO neither does the Sun

note source I’ve linked to is an article by lawyer at a well respected commercial law firm

edit to refer as “suspect”

Sorry to sound gruesome, but do you think that they might have found body parts or potentially another body?
I do. Both scenarios are flooding my mind. Investment into way too many Murder threads, mostly children, have prepared me for almost anything. Still... I’m afraid. I do think Sarah’s remains are scattered. I fear the worst. Reality must have swiftly appeared before the the alleged perpetrator, ideas swimming and circling in the alleged perpetrator‘s mind. “Quick - What have I done? Omg, what do I do now? This can’t be happening. I have no choice now. I’ll do whatever it takes to delay the discovery of her body and identification.” Of course, those are my own words as I imagine. When adrenaline is flowing and panic is setting in, one’s mind will seek the familiar. What does the alleged perpetrator find familiar? Where is the alleged perpetrator‘s familiar arena? Was the alleged perpetrator a stroller of the streets? What does the alleged perpetrator’s inner circle look like? Where will the alleged perpetrator’s mind go to find relief? imo
