All I said was maybe he's on dogging sites... not sure how that is relevant to what you quoted.

oops I have no idea why your post was also quoted with the one I was replying to !!! Sorry I am posting on my phone at the moment and it’s tricky

Media Advisory Notice – Disappearance of Sarah Everard

"the Attorney General draws attention to the requirement not to publish material that asserts or assumes the guilt of anyone who has been arrested. That is an issue to be determined by the jury if in due course there is a trial. The Attorney General also wishes to remind journalists and members of the public that it can amount to contempt of court to publish information relating to untested and unconnected allegations against the suspect"

Media getting a slap on the wrist..

Maybe websites too!

"Editors, publishers and social media users should take legal advice to ensure they are in a position to fully comply with the obligations to which they are subject under the Contempt of Court Act 1981."

I saw those posts and thought they looked the wrong time of day, as the police statement said the injuries occurred during second night in detention.

Would the accused be in court in person when they go to magistrates for an extension?

No

Yes but then why that place and not any of the countless others, many probably more ideal.
There are no answers to that question. Even the perp probably couldn't give you an answer. This isn't a rational act in that way. Evidently, it fulfilled his fantasy of a place to commit this crime, or leave his victim. Maybe it reminded him of a place in a movie or a dream, maybe he felt safe there, maybe he liked the drive there, who knows.

It speaks to a trigger of some sort doesn't it. Or a brain tumor or head injury. Will be curious to find out what was going on in his life.
MOO Possibly absolutely nothing going on in his life, or nothing that would spark this. If there are triggers, then within a pretty complex brain/personality situation which crimonoligists can pull apart. I'm not an expert but I struggle to see how some difficult situation in anybody's life - be it last week or 25 years ago - would trigger anybody into this chain of events.
MOO IMO JMO

I think the poster near the custody suite may have seen EC being taken away after being released on bail?? No idea where she would've been taken to - safe house? You can bet on there being a load of bail restrictions on her though... she has to stay at X she is not allowed to visit Y not allowed to contact people without police knowing, might have had to turn her phone etc over?

I understand why LE are taking the full 96 hours and will charge at the last minute so they can keep questioning, but does anyone think there's any real risk that they may not have enough to charge him after all? And what would happen then? I mean, they would have to release him obvs but then realistically he's not going to be able to just leave custody and walk out on to the street in a normal way, is he?

Does anyone think there's a risk of release and if so how would/could it be handled?

No I don't believe there is a risk of release. They've pinned him at the sight of abduction, they've been able to find Sarah's body which indicates they found evidence in his house or when investigating him to lead them to that point. If he's stupid enough to abduct a woman in the middle of such a busy city I doubt he's a mastermind at concealing evidence. JMO.

“Couzens served with the 3rd battalion, the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment reservists, from 2002 to 2004, which has its HQ in Canterbury, and is where he first handled guns. He is reported to have 'excelled at a battalion-run driving course' for both civilian and military vehicles and passed the course with 'flying colours achieving Top Student status'.”
“Wayne Couzens is said to have been behaving erratically and had spent a considerable period of time off sick for an unknown issue.....update here is that erratic behaviour began in 2020.

“MailOnline can reveal that Couzens had his first armed police job protecting Dungeness Nuclear Power station as part of Britain's Strategic Escort Group.

It saw him equipped with a Heckler & Koch G36 rifle as he accompanied nuclear material being transported around the country by road, rail or sea.

But the prestige role came to an abrupt end when he suddenly failed his yearly fitness test. It meant he was effectively demoted to guarding the power station building with the travel halted.

Her phone....

She'd been talking on it.

Perhaps he was cruising for a victim....

Perhaps he saw her and circled a couple blocks....

Perhaps he parked a block or two ahead....

A matter of gross serendipity that her phone call ended mere moments before evil crossed her path, a sick, demented protector of the law.

What caused her phone to click off? And so quickly?

I can picture a car with the hood up, the boot open. Not threatening, just a poor bloke whose car broken down. Untimely. Speculationing: Say, Miss, I don't mean to trouble you. Could I use your phone to call my wife?

Some people alarm us, some set us at ease. Perhaps he set her at ease with purpose. Lulled her, enlisted her hell, preyed on her natural kindness.

And then.... he turns her phone off, bundles her in the back. Two minutes, tops. May well remove the sim card before he even drives away.

My sad guess, there's a digital trail of Sarah's steps that night, all indicating forward progression toward home. Until the point at which she should appear next but didn't. And within that snippet of time, only a car or two passing this way or that.

That alone would tell a story, provide a basis for a kidnapping charge....

And here we are.

Tragic ending. So brutal, so unfair.

My heart goes out to Sarah's family, friends, boyfriend. This is just atrocious. One sick, selfish actor deciding he can rewrite the story of another person's life. Stealing her from those who loved her best.

Worldwide, we weep with you.

JMO

Her phone call ended 2 minutes before her last sighting on the doorbell camera, so it wasn't immediate.

Her BF reported the call was normal and did not end abruptly. There was nothing about the call that alarmed him enough to check on her later that night or even next morning.

Was that when his father died, 2020?

There are two places listed as 'lodging' on google maps just behind Poynders Court flats. I wonder if he was staying in one of these, I mean just look how close they are to where SE went missing.
