I just don't think this at all. She didn't make it home sadly. Everything points to her NOT making it home.

MOO
I also agree she probably didn’t make it home, but I was just saying that’s probably why the police are not ruling it out at this point!
Doesn’t seem like there’s been any further progress this morning. So worried for her and her family today.

A local mentioned that refuse collection in the area she apparently disappeared from happened the day after the attack so there is a grim possibility that the perp used the large refuse containers you commonly find in and around large housing estates. Not nice to think about obviously.

This is true, and what worries me. I live a few roads down and it is indeed 'bin day' on Friday mornings for one side of Cavendish Road, and Thursday mornings for the other (it's on the Lambeth/Wandsworth border).

Unfortunately knowing this news does make you think about Corrie McKeague... and if it was waste day in the area, lots of evidence could have been lost too before she was even reported as missing.

I think what they mean by that is that there was a possibility she made it home and then left again at some point. Just because there wasn’t a struggle or signs she’s STILL there doesn’t mean she didn’t get there and then leave again. Or someone she knew came round hence no struggle?
They are obviously leaving options open in that regard.

True, and remember with Joanna Yates remember, she made it home and her neighbour was in her apartment waiting for her. SE likely has not left the house often (due to working from home), but she maybe was being watched from across the street by a neighbour. Was her leaving to meet up with friends an opportunity to do something similar?

Yes good point.

One of the problems is we have such little information, we don't really know what is likely

Especially in types of cases like Yates where there has been staging to misdirect.

If she put her phone in airplane mode for some reason, she might easily have made it home.

Until I followed Sarah's disappearance I had no idea that the public could access cctv around London. I find this very worrying. Someone with unscrupulous intentions could also watch this waiting for lone females or even stalk someone of interest to them.

I think airplane mode was mentioned a while ago as being something that a perp/thief could have done, but I hadn’t considered before that SE herself may have done this to preserve battery in case of wanting to preserve her phone for emergencies later in her walk. This could mean she got a lot further than Poynders Rd, though you’d hope some CCTV somewhere would detect her in that case. Frustrating and of course unbelievably sad that there’s so little to go on.

Does anyone locally know if this building is in use at the moment? Seems to have previously been used as a school called The Laurels, on Atkins road Link. It seems sort of isolated from view and just off her route where she was last seen on Poynders road. It has a large green space at the back and seems relatively easy to gain entry.

First time commentator on here but this case is really chilling and I’ve been unable to stop thinking about it.

I do find it odd that the official police line is that there is no evidence that anything untoward has happened - and yet the resources being thrown at this, the escalation to the specialist team etc surely suggest otherwise?

Is there any reason this line of thinking would continue to be pushed publicly?

I think the police have alot more information regarding Sarah's movements that evening. I followed libbys squires case very closely and the police had alot of cctv that wasn't mentioned or released to the public until it went to trial. I also believe they were watching the perp before arresting him hoping he would lead them to libby. Fingers crossed alot more is going on behind the scenes.

@twinpinesmall is there a missing 'grey' camera at 9.30pm on poynders road?

Im sorry, my brain is finding it hard to put together all the map info with the camera locations! you seem to have the most amazing grasp of it all!! In awe!

This is the camera at 9:30pm on Poynders Road / Kings Ave junction if that helps :)

Is the CCTV actually live moving footage, or 'still' shots updated every so often??

Could well be correct. Recovering Sarah is the prime consideration for police. This Alison happened in the Chris Halliwell/Sian Matthews case in Swindon - they identified him quite early on and put him under surveillance in the hope they would lead them to Sian.

Whenever I run past it, seems like the school has closed down in the past year. I assumed that there would be guardians living there or something but don’t recall any signage to that effect.

Here's the original from the archive page:
So I guess the the fact that she’s not caught on CCTV at kings road doesn’t mean she didn’t make it that far, looks like it captures only one side of the road, I wonder what side she was on then the doorbell camera picked her up?

Maybe this is being pushed publicly to put the perpetrator into a false sense of security and therefore catch them out
