The term may refer to a law or court rule that allows a collateral challenge to a judgment of conviction which has otherwise become final in the normal appellate review process.

I agree! However, the BBM , the drugs and ciggys are easy to get in prison, sad to say, but so true!

I read an article (IIRC it was on the FL DOC website) about FL DOC facilities all being smoke-free...either they just became that way or are soon to become that way. No smoking anywhere in buildings or on the grounds.

I read an article (IIRC it was on the FL DOC website) about FL DOC facilities all being smoke-free...either they just became that way or are soon to become that way. No smoking anywhere in buildings or on the grounds.

Yes, technically the facilities ARE smoke-free. But as an employee of a detention center (jail), I have learned that inmates can get whatever contraband they desire for the right price, including cigarettes. This is a sad truth !

Does anyone have any info on why Ronald Cummings has been moved? He has not been in long enough, from what I have been able to determine, to request a transfer. But he is not at Liberty Correctional anymore.

Watch this case not be declared cold too for quite some time. With a poster here mentioning this morning that there is a PI who is searching for an alive Haleigh & another (SKB I solved it) looking for her remains...hmmm I'm getting the picture. Insert bad word here. I'd love to see the Sunshine Laws release some documents if it were declared a cold case!!

However, he has to do 85 percent of his sentence and the system in Florida only shocks us if its Casey related. Hes screwed, no and's if's or but's! jmo

I personally know somebody who was sentenced to eight years, applied and was transferred to Wakulla and within two weeks was begging to be transferred back out. LOL He said he would rather do hard time than to attend the victim impact panels and other meetings required. It may be a good program but I think it is tougher than some realize.
