I cant imagine too many college aged adults even knowing what a payphone is. I've flown out of that airport a ton of times, and I couldn't even tell you if there are pay phones or where they would be at. On the other hand, I have landed in other cities with a dead phone and had to sit for 15-20 minutes to charge my phone so I could request a Lyft.
They are telling me you can charge your phone during the flight. Been a while since I have flown so I don't know.

See, and I had just the opposite reaction:

My mind immediately went to the thought that LE may now have information that they want to release sooner rather than later in order to expedite the process of generating useful tips, etc., from the public.

Yeah, imo it’s gotta be the driver and vehicle description referenced in yesterday’s PC.

I have never met Kenzie's roommates so I don't know for sure. Honestly if there was some kind of payments to and from a person she wanted to hide (although I don't know what/why) she would just make the payment private so no one can see it. I think we're reading too much into the venmo. I only use emojis to describe what I'm paying in venmo. And using venmo does not inherently mean you pay for drugs. I don't know why we have these so linked right now. She could be paying this guy for internet which is what I believe. What he does in his spare time has nothing to do with her unless there is a LE backed link between the two of them IMO.

I only find the Venmo helpful because if the relative closeness to when she went missing. For that reason, it needs explored. I’m sure leaving is doing that.

IF this was a roommate, I find odd there is no other social connection to be found as of yet.

I'm in my mid 20s and I would be very shocked if someone around my age didn't know what a payphone was. They were still used a lot when we were young. But a lot of younger people don't carry money and don't tend to memorise phone numbers, so you might wait to charge your phone for that reason.

I was exaggerating when I said not knowing what a payphone is but I'm 42 and I would never use a payphone, also because, like you said, I don't know anybody's phone number. Not even my Mom's.

She is friends with CG on facebook. Or at least when I looked last night.

I thought so too, but I kept scrolling and there was another JJ comment further down that was pretty specific. If true, new info to me.

Except most legit PI's have a LE contact, and don't broadcast salacious comments on a news site's public FB comments page! o_O

IMO, just another desperate party inserting himself in the investigation for personal gain.

I'm waiting for 2pm presser for factual info....

MOO

This. Venmo is associated with drugs but its not going to be so obvious that anyone would see it on their public timeline so its useless in this instance. From what I gather this case has nothing to do with drugs at all and trying to decipher her public Venmo is just a waste of time and muddling up the real issue at hand.

That being said, she may have some useful information on her Venmo but it sure as hell isn't going to be anything we can see from viewing her public timeline especially if she is as guarded as her friends say she is with her private life.

Someone up thread found the same person on her FB and potentially her IG. Seems like they know each other beyond Venmo. Also- given the roommates and reporting her missing perhaps they simply aren’t close friends but just roommates. I know I’ve had former roommates that I never had on social media because it was a pure financial decision to live together. Mutually beneficial but no friendship necessary. IMO.

Hi from Australia!

One of the new accounts she follows is someone from CA. Likely to be people she connected with at the funeral IMO.
She doesn’t post much on her public account (18 posts in 5 years ) but does have over 1000 followers compared to 220 follows and 14 posts on her private. This is quite reserved usage of Instagram, I wonder if she mainly used the DM feature or just wasn’t very active on Insta.
Someone might have already said this (sorry I haven’t combed through all of the new replies yet) but just because she has 18 posts in 5 years doesn’t mean that’s all she’s ever posted. I know lots of people her age who like to have only 10-20 photos on their page at a time, so they delete or archive when they get above that number. She could easily have like 300 posts but is just a serial deleter

This all seems innocuous to me. Like perhaps a roommate with whom Kenzie and other roommates would have regular money exchanges to split their utility bills, groceries, calling for pizza delivery, etc. They might even up after each expense, or combine/accumulate them and even up every so often, etc.

I'd guess the computer icon to be internet service, the plate icon for meals out/groceries, etc.

This is especially true amongst kids who belong to fraternities and sororities. I didn’t think it unusual at all.

Hypothetically and IMO, either a quickie in the car, or to the person's home. Something went bad. Maybe the plan was for the person to take her home after the fact. Maybe she had met this person before. Money talks when you are a college student. Or even a hard working girl. I found out a few months ago that someone I have been in the same field with for years is an escort. Had ZERO clue. She told me the money is so good she can't give it up. She also had a full time job in accounting. My point is - you really never know about people or their private lives sometimes..

Thank you so much for that clarification! This was very helpful, and I hope and pray this lays to rest all the silliness about the poor Lyft driver being involved.

I agree with you that at this time, there’s no reason to think that the Lyft driver is involved. It’s extreme silliness to be determined that he’s involved, as some people seem to be. HOWEVER, it seems possible to me that a Lyft driver could change a destination if he took control of a passenger’s phone. Obviously, a passenger has to have some way to change the destination. I’m not saying this because I think he did.

All this MOO

Any chance Kenzie was meeting up with someone to get some good ole fashioned herb? @yellowmooseJust a thought. Especially if she was stressed. If this has already been addressed, my apologies.

The only thing I have witnessed with my own two eyes is seeing Kenzie casually drink at parties. She was of age at the time as well. But I have never seen her do drugs. I won’t speculate on whether or not it’s a possibility since I haven’t seen it firsthand.

I’m new to this series of threads and coming in a bit late. I did want to chime in with one thing.

For those who have suggested she was dropped off at the park to buy drugs... I know people who take Ubers to buy drugs because they don’t have a car. You don’t just have them dump you in a park and wait with drugs for however long until you may or may not be able to summon a ride late at night. You tell the Uber you’re dropping something important off for a friend, add another stop heading back home, and go back on your merry way moments later. The fact she got out and was left in that park makes me think she intended to meet someone and stay.
