I know people are innocent until proven guilty, but...

There are too many inconsistencies to ignore.

Has anyone heard what's the deal with the generator? My theory is he killed Susan at home, probably in a way that didn't shed blood (strangling or poisoning) but she may have lost bladder or bowel control or vomited when he did so and that explains the wet spot on the carpet. He had some time to clean it up. Perhaps if it was vomit he left that clue so it would back up his 'Susan was sick' story. Then he took Susan's body and his trusty generator with on the 'camping trip' and used it to power a skill saw or something like that- to dismember her body and dispose of it easier. Perhaps that explains the reason he went out for a campfire in the middle of the night? A remote locale probably in the other direction of where he said he was and the freshly falling snow would dilute and wash away the blood stains and buy him some time for her remains to be scattered and harder to find, I would imagine.

I hate to think of those sweet little babies sleeping in their little car seats in a running vehicle while just outside this monster does this to their mommy. I have a four year old and she is very smart but even she doesn't think to look in the back of the vehicle when we get in, so perhaps that is why the little boy doesn't know mommy may have been lying in the back of the van. This whole thing sickens me and I pray that Susan is found safe somehow.

There was probably snow there before he went. Now he is saying they slept in the van so who knows what evidence there would be.

If I were investigating this, I would cordon the place where Josh supposedly camped at and place a couple of dets around it.

I would ask them to sit and wait for the snow to melt, and keep and eye for anything that pokes up, any tire track on the mud, any half-eaten smores...

:)

You know I wonder if this hadn't hit national news would this lawyer have stepped in? You know there is no way he can afford this lawyer and the lawyer just wants the publicity.

As per our earlier discussion looks like he won't be needing a public defender after all. Was soo hoping that he would be questioned again today without representation.

I do not believe they stayed all night in a cold van.
The heater would overheat, would the generator work as a heater in the van safely?[/QUOTE] (Oops, this was meant to be a quote from PassionFlower).

Totally agree'd.
I remember one winter I went camping with some family and friends. My stepfather and a few of my friends drove out the day before I did. They were staying at an abandoned stone cabin close to the Utah town called Hurricane.
Well, I took a wrong turn and ended up stuck in the snow MILES down this dirt road. Thank GOD, people travelled through there the next day and we were only stuck for one night. It was SO cold that ice formed on the insides of my windows from the condensation of our breath. I had to start the car every hour or so to warm it up. This was with 4 full grown adults, and large dog inside a little Honda Accord. I couldn't run the heat too much because I needed to reserve the gas. I had no idea how long we'd be stuck out there, and even if/when someone came and got me out, I would need enough gas to get back into town. Mind you, this was a few hours South of the Salt Lake area, and a bit warmer all the way around.

There is NO FREAKING WAY any good parent would take those kids out there in the middle of the night like that.

Maybe Mr. Williams saw the report this morning in the Tribune that he was due to talk to LE today and he was kind enough to offer his services to him at a 'discount'? How nice of him... :banghead:

I think he got rid of the body on the sledding trip and panic set in on the clean up and he just ran with the boys and then decided to come back.

That honestly sounds plausible, IMHO. He was seen returning at 8:30. That may have been when he told his boy 'mommy is going to stay in the woods for a while.'

Anyway, when he cleaned up he may have concocted the plan of taking off and being gone and when he returned she wasn't there. His plan got messed up though because his sister called LE first AND they found the wet spot.

About the wet spot, curious that the dad and others said they thought one of the kids may have hurt themselves and they were at the hospital. I wonder if the 'spot' was discolored or something? I mean they made it sound like it appeared as if it COULD have been blood.

PS..To anyone who wonders, this statment of mommy staying in the woods is not necessarily 'truth' but could just be 'rumor.' It was posted on one of the news sites in the blog. The person said something about knowing someone in LE and they revealed a couple of things that were being discussed behind the scenes and this was one of the items. It was alleged to have been said by the child when LE talked to the child while the dad was being questioned also.

Ehhh, maybe the operative words are 'no way any good parent.

Frankly, I think Children Services should check in on this little ones. Obviously this man does NOT have good judgement when it comes to his children's welfare.

Just sayin'

pollylou- first, Welcome to Websleuths. Great post - lots of possibilities there. Any of those could be the case. I am wondering if LE has triangulated his cell phone pings during the time in question to outline an area to search. I am sure LE has already thought of this, and hopefully he did have his cell phone with him. LE knows much more than is being told to the media. Sadly, I agree that this woman is no longer with the living. I cannot remember the name of the woman up north somewhere but it happened a couple of years ago, also in the winter. He had dismembered his wife after he strangled her, and scattered the remains in the snow. Later he went back and found the torso, took it home, and hid it in his garage, where LE found it on a second search. Does anyone remember this case? My brain won't tell me the name - too much going on in my head today, and like my computer sometimes does my brain froze. LOL

I totally remember that case! Didn't he take off and they tracked him up north or something? and they thought he may have committed suicide but he hadn't done it yet. I think he was planning to.

Oh, and I'm sorry but I can't remember the name. It actually only took a very short time to solve that case. IIRC, maybe a week or so.

It's so sad. So many cases and so many names, it's hard to keep track of them or even what state it was.

Wow! I wonder what sort of 'precautions' Susan took in case something happened to her?

So we're getting from another party that Susan felt physically threatened!? Others knew about it.

Ok, does anyone have anything to add?

33. Co-workers say Susan took precautions in case 'anything' happened to her.

REASONS NOT TO LOOK TOWARDS HUSBAND

1. Josh said he didn't harm Susan.

2. Susan's dad said to stop looking at husband, he didn't harm his daughter.

New to this case and trying to catch up.

I am NOT buying the camping-in-freezing-weather-in-the-middle-of-the-night story. No WAY. With two little boys??? And why leave at 12:30 a.m.? That makes absolutely NO sense.

Who was the last person to speak to Susan? Did anyone speak to her after this "camping trip" but before she was reported missing?

A friend saw her walking home from church on Sunday afternoon. Another friend came over for dinner. It's said they ate dinner at about 4:00. However, Susan wasn't feeling well and it's been said Josh fixed dinner, which is very unusual. The friend left about 5:30 because Susan wasn't feeling well. The friend obviously saw Susan because she described what she was wearing. It wasn't pj's.

Anyway, the next thing we know is the husband is seen returning home at about 8:30 p.m. that night and then the next day the kids weren't at preschool, the parents didn't show up for work, LE was called and they went to the home. That's when LE broke in, fearing carbon monoxide poisoning. They found no one home, a water spot on the carpet in the living room being dried by two fans.

A friend finally got hold of Josh later that afternoon and he said he was driving around with the kids. He got home two hours later and Susan was gone. He called her dad on Tuesday to tell him Susan was still gone.

HTH,
fran
