I'm sure there is a reason.... I don't know it... I"m just trusting

Mr. Cox responded to a commenter regarding TES by saying that (paraphrasing) he thought WVPD had been in contact with TES and others and plan to use them in the future

Could he have put her in a frozen body of water? Quarry, or lake? Are there "super" augers that use generators for power? I don't know, I'm just throwing another scenerio out there.

Dr. Fessel is our Sleuth of the Day! Google *image* search...DOH!!!

O/T a bit, here is an article that discusses the use of social media campaigns:

"In the case of the Utah woman, Susan Powell, for instance, there have been nearly 1,500 stories about her since she disappeared," said Artwick, who specializes in new media and is the author of Reporting and Producing for Digital Media. "In the days leading up to the social-media blitz, 300 stories covered the case, most about the blitz itself. What that means is that you're getting interest from the media concurrent with interest from people all over the country, even the world, through the social media."

I did not say this!

Also wanted to add from the FB page:
Chuck Cox "I believe WVPD has been in contact with TES and other specially trained groups, and plan to use them in the future."

Grandma To 4
That was a great post and I think you said what many of us are thinking. I have wondered the same thing. It seemed as if the church meant a lot to her and the only ones I see helping in any sense is when they helped Josh. Strange indeed....

People are calling into LE trying to get information on doing
searches and LE is not returning their calls.

They have also said a few times on local news that at this
point LE is not asking for the public help in the search.

IMO that is discouraging people to search.

Thanks. So, they have not come out and said "don't search".

I'd search. I am very glad to know there are people out there trying.

Got a few questions here...
  1. Can I start a new thread to discuss SP?
  2. Someone please refresh me about terms/etiquette re: linking to public records.. specifically, is it okay to link to public records that contain identifying info about persons unrelated (or just slightly, on a tangent, related) to the case?
  3. Also, please refresh me about the use of full names on the forums.. specifically, is it okay to refer to someone by intitials, but link to material that contains that person's full name?

Symptoms of Skin Contact: May cause dermatitis "inflammation of the skin" or irritation in some individuals upon prolonged contact. Localized skin defatting can be
expected

From the MSDS sheet for that cleaner. I added the definition of dermatitis.

Dr.F you are amazing. :) I too, wondered about cleaning products as have read some MSDS and they are bad for the skin to put it mildly. In the rental car return news interview , it really looks to me like his hands are bad. Can this stuff destroy DNA? I hear bleach can.

It causes defatting to the skin which means it is probably caustic and turning the oil into soap on your skin so it might destroy DNA.

Answers:

1. Yes.

2. No.

3. Yes, as long as it's about someone who is central to the case, not someone unrelated or only marginally related.

That was easy.

Here’s the lowdown on the physical search: Chuck Cox, Susan’s father, has said that if anyone wants to do their own search, you must contact the West Valley PD. Get their permission and register a record of where in the wilderness you want to search and then report back to them after you’re done.

So does everyone think that was just a mistake and Kiirsi should have never put the permission part in there? The sentence before it she says you must contact the police.

Trying to catch up...I might have to quit my day job to follow this case. :waitasec:

As I said previously, I think it was a poor word choice. Working from 20/20 hindsight and not being in front of the press, etc., I can say maybe the words "collaboration" or "inform" may have been a better choice.

Clearly, you don't have to have permission to search, but it does seem you would all need to work together.
