The ariel map shows that Arden place apartments is in between Rio Hill Drive and Carmike theaters. Using google maps give you a precise distance, the newscaster if I remember said it was about 20 yards. I find it is is better to research the exact distance because news teams seem to guesstimate a lot. I apologize if you consider a map misleading over a statement from a newscaster but I do not. Unless she had an actually ruler that measured the distance then I would take her word. I am trying to get a saved image of the map but my computer does not allow me to save the image so that is why I said that it needed to be googled to get a view. If you zoom in on the ariel of the map you can see the places that were in between the two location. I do not think anything is misleading when nothing is really known.

You are correct. Arden Place is in the middle. When I first looked, I thought that whole complex was Rio Hill. The theater lot is about 150-200 feet from Arden Place Apartments, and Rio Hill Apartments is about another 100-200 feet. To walk from the theater lot to the Rio Hill Apartments clubhouse is probably 500-600 feet.

What matters here is that the location of the car was not random.

IF she was indeed kidnapped (and before arriving at the apartment complex) the perp would have to be familiar with her family to pull something like this off. There is NO WAY it was a random person. IMO.

I find that in this case it could have been anyone, even a random person could have stalked her and been watching her for months. Although it is usually someone related or a friend to the missing person. Since we know so little it should not be ruled out, especially with someone who had such a following on social media sites. IMO

"Called in to help by Nelson County authorities, the FBI issued a new "seeking information" poster online and in print and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children posted an updated "endangered missing" flier with new photos.

Authorities said they were pursuing leads, but were tight-lipped about the details. A judge sealed search warrants in Nelson related to the case."

A popular girl known for her fashion sense, Murphy left home in the Nissan on Saturday evening for a shopping trip to Lynchburg.

A prolific tweeter, Murphy remarked on her outfit on Twitter before leaving home Saturday.

"I actually look cute right now," Murphy tweeted from her handle @RealFolarin at 5:40 p.m. to her more than 11,000 followers. Some replied immediately.

A few days later, the replies turned to expressions of worry.

At the urging of a Murphy friend, popular rapper Wale retweeted a message to his more than 3 million followers: "#FindAlexisMurphy #FindAlexisMurphy retweet my first picture please! @RealFolarin_ is missing."

BBM - hmmmm

Correct me if I'm wrong, but she had a photo with that tweet...and the outfit, iirc, was tan or white top and navy bottoms, right? so did she change into the pink and then leave?

ah I may have made an error then, I marked the Arden place apartments thinking her grandmother lived there. The other ones were a bit further, though only a couple minutes walk IMO. If it turns out I should've marked the Rio apts I will go back and put a new screenshot and map up in a few minutes.

Hi again, and thank you for the welcomes and thoughts and comments.. and again bear with me as i just woke up and I really wasn't on here but what seems like a few hours ago... and havent had my coffee yet... so very groggy... but giving this a shot...

I think I have some clarifying to do, first and foremost.. definitely not an insider, but before I go on, who would be a moderator "in charge" mostly on this particular board, so to speak that I could privately message to ask a question.. before I clarify/verify if possible... some of my statements in last nights posts? I want this girl found and brought home and am willing to do whatever I can to help make that happen... :)

also, there was a string of comments on Blue Ridge Life Magazine... either their page or their FB page... trying to find it now... in which a woman, talked about the FBI searching her house, early on in the investigation... all the way down to her refrigerator... this would have been Monday I think... She lived with in the general vicinity of Alexis... meaning, that area of Nelson... shipman to 29, oakridge, lovingston, etc... this is also where for much of the investigation up until her car was found, that the FBI concentrated their search on the ground and in the air... which was curious to me since she was supposedly traveling to LB and my first thought if my kid was missing would be to be scouring 29 looking for places where someone went off the road into the underbrush which is really really thick right now... and 29 from lovingston to lynchburg is about 30 miles through Nelson, and all of Amherst county... and they only looked along 29 in just the general lovingston, oak ridge area.... so that tells me that they knew something from the get go that focused their efforts within a small radius of the gas station... beyond that... again... who can I PM a question to? :)

Just marking my place... Been following but not posting, you all are doing such a great job.

Very worried about Alexis. She looks so much like one of my cousins. One thing in her favor is that while she puts a lot of herself out there, she seems very wise to people's nonsense and motives. I am hoping that those smarts help her get out of whatever situation she is in safely. :please:

Come home soon, Alexis! :rose:

Yes I agree, that is the most important factor and it was near her work and her family members home. More than likely she visited her Grandmother quite often after or before work. It is speculation but she seems to be close to her family or at least it is portrayed in that manner.

here I am! :seeya:

has anyone done a case map yet? I have some time to research all the addresses and I can throw one together

thanks nursebeeme.. now let me just figure out how to PM you! lol

also, just FYI... the "luxury" in the name of the apartments... is just in the name... they are not really luxury apartments... or if they were at one point, they are not any more... and thank you for finding the snippet about the car being there on monday morning... I dont understand why that has been pushed to the back and being reported differently now..

No, the furthest back I found was the early 2000s.

One was a manufacturing/distribution charge. But if he served time for that he was out and getting vehicular tickets by the mid 2000s. I read in one article that said he was married, to the wife he killed, for somewhere around 20 years...can't remember the exact number.

The latest charge which sent him to jail and for which he was just released from jail, iirc, occurred in 2011. Maybe it was 2.5 versus 25 years.

Public court records show this isn't Sylvester Cheatham's first run-in with the law. In 1991, he was sentenced to 25 years for Malicious Wounding and Statutory Burglary.

I cant find any more on this crime, so wondering where MSM got the information from? Must be out there somewhere.

Could you further explain that? Is there a press release that says it wasn't random?

Her car was parked about 35-40 miles from her house and about 500 feet from her grandma's apartment. It seems like the chances of that are one in several thousand.

is there any new info on her uncle being missing as well? Someone posted something about that last night. When I read that my mind went to that other case where an uncle went missing at the same time as a girl, is it Brittney Wood? I dont' even want to go there, though.

Also, Cheatham is following one woman, named T*amik*a M*oss. Is she in danger???
