FindAmy - in the pictures you have of Amy on the bed, does it appear that the nightstand is attached to the headboard?

I don't know, but I have wondered that same thing. I have also wondered what is sitting on the nightstand.

Here are two cropped sections showing the nightstand.

Dabzn16 - <modsnip> You have expressed displeasure that Amy danced with Alister Douglas. You refuted sightings that you hadn't previously heard of. You have refuted the accuracy of facial features in the Margarita Island photographs. You have misquoted me as saying that Amy kidnaps children. You refuted whether Amy's captors would take her out in mid-day. You have refuted the accuracy of the artist sketches. You have refuted FBI actions. You have drawn very clear references to information that you know is highly sensitive and not intended for public awareness. <modsnip>

You are certainly entitled to your own opinion of Amy Bradley, her character, her behavior, the accuracy of information, or her entire disappearance. I represent Amy's parents, whether you agree with the information or not. I have been verified in this role with Websleuths, by the Bradley family. Why would I not provide accurate information? You claim to be knowledgeable about Amy's case. Do you know more than the Bradley family? You obviously prefer to accept information from the media over someone directly connected to Amy's family. <modsnip>

If you recall, the media and even the Vanished program portrayed Amy as a sex slave in South America. If this is what you want to believe, it's fine with me.

<modsnip>

I had no displeasure in Amy dancing with Alister. I thought that video showed she was a fun-loving woman. I asked the question why she would dance with him when you said she thought the cruise ship workers were creepy. A simple, observant question to a possible discrepancy that helps me make sense of the situation. You were more specific that it was the waiters that were creepy. Made sense. Answer given, question solved.

There have been many that have reviewed the pictures of Amy and the pictures found on the escort site. Others stated the ear and nose difference and THAT is what made me realize it, I had never noticed it before. I simply agreed with THEM. It was not me. <modsnip> And I still did not say anything about doubting whether it was Amy or not, I was still not sure.

I never misquoted you saying Amy kidnapped kids. I was talking about that conversation that had been going on for days and asked a question about it and if you believed that was what happened. How would I say that you said that?? Nothing has ever been released about what Amy has been kidnapped for and you have not said anything for certain. That is just the only scenario on this site you have ever even discussed on this site. <modsnip> I have never misquoted you, it was only a question.

I questioned why Amy's captors would take Amy out in midday, that that may make her easy to be caught. I never said I didn't believe that would happen. I just didn't know why they would risk it. <modsnip>?

I have never refuted the accuracy of the artist sketches. I simply was giving reasons why that FBI fugitive didn't look like the sketch of Amy's captor, which you also said you didn't believe looked similar. And also me and another poster were discussing how in almost every case the artist sketch is not 100% portrayed to the person's vision of the person or they do not get it across correctly, just a limit to human language and comprehension. I never said that sketch isn't accurate. <modsnip>

I have never refuted FBI actions. I don't even know where that is coming from.

I have never said anything that I know to be sensitive.

I have said I have followed the case for years because I care about missing person cases and my heart breaks for the Bradley family and for Amy. I have never said I was knowledgeable about the case. I have said I only know what was released to the public. And I have even said some of the information you have released on this forum I didn't even know from all my research. <modsnip> I've actually said the opposite that i believe YOU over the media. Again, I was only asking questions that makes the case make more sense, that in some way I can understand what happened better and sleuth more possibilities since that is in fact what this site is about. <modsnip> <modsnip>

She has a lizard tattoo on her navel. Is it not visible in this photograph?

Also, on the Vanished episode and all the other places I have seen it said the photo evidence was inconclusive. That it could not be decided whether the picture was in fact Amy or not. They did say an expert felt strongly that it was her though. This is the 1st place that I am seeing that the FBI believes it is her. Was there additional testing done after this? Just curious at to why the other released information says it was never sure if the pictures are Amy.

I'd be interested to know the answer to this question to-Thank you!

On the nightstand it looks like it could be a magazine opened to a page with the cover folded under (if that makes sense). I've tried enhancing it but the image is such low resolution, it is difficult to work with. Are these images anywhere online that you know of where I could get a copy that hasn't been compressed to death? I tried the images on hyscience but I'm having the same problem. I'm assuming that the images are no longer on the same site where they originally appeared?

Guess it's too much to hope for that the photos would be gps encrypted huh. :)

I will be very careful how I answer this.

The gecko isn't large.

The angle of the camera and the poor quality of the photograph.

In my very own personal opinion which is not an FBI official statement, I also believe that makeup was used.

The escort resort is gone. It's now a Venezuelan school for Hotel Management. The website is gone, but even before the website was taken down, the images of Amy were removed because of the FBI. The images of Amy were taken down in August of 2005. Any photos that you find at this point, have probably been compressed and duplicated many times. The quality of the photos was terrible from the beginning, which was another indication that they hadn't been professionally done.

I'm sure the FBI has worked with the photograph, but they don't share that kind of information. I don't know of anyone who has been able to get any details from that nightstand.

For years, I have been trying to figure out what was on the nightstand. I have always felt that if a magazine or something on that nightstand could be identified, it would be an indication of where the photograph was taken.

This is the best that I could find from the old website. The third photograph came from another section of the website.

WARNING: The bickering in here needs to stop now. Attack the post, not the poster. If a poster pushes your buttons, put them on your ignore list and you will no longer see their posts.

ALL avenues of thought are welcome here. The purpose is to find Amy, so please stay focused and don't bicker.

Thanks,

Salem

Our FBI arrived for an investigation and the resort owners had also brought in Playboy and a British film company to produce a documentary about the resort. Chavez threw them out of Venezuela.

(Respectfully snipped by me.)

Your reposting of this information reminded me that I meant to ask for clarification the last time you posted it. When you write, "Chavez threw them out of Venezuela," are you referring to the FBI, the resort owners, Playboy, or the British film company?

To be clear, I'm not requesting that you share additional details -- rather, only requesting clarification for purposes of better understanding the sentence. Thanks in advance.

Because if the tattoos were visible it would have been absolute proof that the photo was Amy and they would all be subject to arrest for some very serious crimes.

Sometimes I wonder why they wouldn't have the tattoos removed. Yes, I realize that I'm trying to apply logic to an illogical situation. :maddening:

The resort was closed.

I have no idea why they didn't remove the tattoos.

Notice how Amy's hair very carefully covers that tattoo on her left shoulder blade. They were taunting us.

Just wondering why the captors would want to taunt the family...It seems like they would be better off letting the family wonder/doubt if she was still alive rather than providing proof of the same.

The bedding does not look plush. The mattress looks rather poor in quality. I don't know what the standards are in this country.

I personally believe that Amy's captors wanted those photographs to be discovered. Amy had been seen twice in Curacao and once in San Francisco. I personally believe that they were trying to setup a diversion. I believe that they wanted everyone who was looking for Amy to believe that she was a prostitute in South America. This is not an official FBI opinion and I don't know if this corresponds to any documentary programs.

We don't even know where the bed is located.

it looks as though the heart shape in the middle is made out of a different material than the cast iron to me i also wanted to add that it would be twin size headboard from the looks for it
