The cheap looking bed and the head post looks like something one might see at a motel in, or on the way to Niagara Falls or Quebec.

i tend to think this is not a hotel most have larger beds than twin size? the night stand seems odd to me as well its really small only has enough room to hold what looks to be one magazine based on how it is curving in the photo i think this was at a home or apt i dont spend very much time at very many hotels or motels its so frustrating... i even tried to squint to see if there was any marking on the bottom of the shoe

The bedding does not look plush. The mattress looks rather poor in quality. I don't know what the standards are in this country.

The bed frame looks like a cheap metal bed frame (popular in the 80s/90s), not wrought iron. It has the cheap looking toppers on the bed posts. I would believe it was taken in a home, not in a hotel...maybe like a vacation rental. Those usually have cheap looking beds.

In Europe, it is common to have twin beds in hotels. When my husband and I rented a "double room" in Italy, it had two twin beds (to our surprise).

Also, just looked on Google for Caribbean hotels that have twin beds. Several offer that.

ETA: The picture below is what I mean by a "cheap metal bed frame". I realize the design on this headboard is different.

I agree - I too believe the headboard looks like it is cheap and made out of metal rather than wrought iron. The heart part looks like maybe a plated brass.

Is the bed a twin size or a full size? Is there a metric size in other countries?

Do you recall ever seeing that headboard pattern?

A few things that I am straining to see ( well everything) but wondering if rings are worn on the left hand and also thinking that to the bottom left of pic. either looking at part of bed frame or electrical outlet with plug. If it is an electrical outlet that might give a hint about country location.

I really think it's a full sized bed. Twin mattresses are 39 X 75 inches (or 99 X 190 cm). A full sized mattress measures 54 X 75 inches (or 137 X 190 cm).

With the way she's reclining in one of the photos, it looks apparent to me that it's definitely wider than 39 inches. Also noticed...no box spring. The headboard does look cheap, as another poster mentioned, not real wrought iron. Almost like two different colored metals, maybe same type of metal. Maybe it's one of those that is held together by screws. I think the nightstand is supposed to match, but is not attached to the bed.

Good eye.

I think it's a full size, too, unless there is a metric size that would be between a twin and a full.

Amy did have a ring when she disappeared. It was a silver college ring with a black onyx. She wore it on her right hand. On her left wrist, she was wearing a thin silver bracelet with little turtles.

I am not good with computers but are there any programs that can make the photos more clear I wonder?

I think the photo is beyond help. It's old. It was taken in 2004 or before. The quality of the photo wasn't good to begin with and it was copied from the old website. It's been copied and recopied so many times.

I think our big thing here could be to figure out where that headboard is located. I wonder if we could figure out where that bed was made or sold.

There are, but they can only do so much. I ran one of my filters on the photo that actually takes the pixels and converts them to vectors, then back into pixels. Vectors can be enlarged as much as you need without sacrificing quality.

With a decent photo it is a great tool. But unfortunately the original image is already compressed and pixelated (not to mention out of focus) and it makes it extremely difficult to focus on such a small area like the nightstand. If I had a larger picture I could most likely get better results.

I also tried doing a bicubic resampling, but to no avail. :(

You are absolutely amazing. I don't even understand half of what you just described, but I want to thank you for your efforts.

PeggyAnn, do you think it's possible that the person who took the photograph or sent it to the escort resort did something to the photo so that the quality would intentionally be really bad?

I know this bed is different, but every time I am searching for the headboard online, this photo keeps stalking me. The heart is very similar to the one on the bed in the photo...I think that's why it keeps jumping out at me. There are significant differences (one being that this is a daybed), so I know it's not "the" bed, but maybe the company made another one using the same heart style?

Maybe this photo will leave me alone now that I've posted it for you all to see! LOL

That's a definitely possibility. I don't know what year the photos were taken, but photo editing software has been around for many years. I think the first version of Photoshop came out in the late 80's.

The photo that I think is the most suspicious is the 1st one you posted on post #731. There's something about the pixelation on the right that is almost too patterned. This may very well be because the photo has been enlarged, but I've been mulling it over since last night when I was working with the pictures.

To me this doesn't look like a night stand, it looks more like a chair, if you look closely at the image you can make out a wooden leg perhaps with white (tufted??) fabric.
