I don't think so but it's so hard to tell. To me it looks like a box is on top of something, perhaps makeup the person or persons used. And of course it could be a magazine or book. I wish there was a way to enhance it. Soooo frustrating

This was in response to the poster who asked if I thought this could be rolled up/ripped vinyl Sorry I haven't figured out how to bring the comments over with my post

I think i figured it out i hit quote and yes I was the one who asked I wish there was more we could get from the photos

The FBI doesn't share any details. I know they worked on the photos, but they won't release details of their results.

Would all of this photo information be available if the photo had been a still from a video?

I don't think the video information would be available once it was captured as a still, but it would have the photo information from when it became a .jpg, .bmp or whatever it was saved as from the video.

Having said that, there is software that can extract information from a photo/video that under normal circumstances would not be visible. The info is there, but it's just not visible unless you extract it.

I could do a test to see what info is available once a still is captured from a video, but we are at a disadvantage because what software does today is much more advanced than when the video/photos were taken. So information that is embedded in a photo/video now, might not have been embedded back then. There are so many variables...if it was a video, was it digital or analog...was it compressed and, if so, using what....if it is a still photo rather than a video, was it digital or scanned. Stuff like that.

SO frustrating!!

I also am trying to figure out how she got to the US she would have had to have flown Im assuming...so no airport footage from that time frame? What would her method of transportation have been? I know when I went to the Bahamas they had to scan my passport when they do that I am sure it brings up my face. If you travel from country to country in the Carribean do they have less strict visiting rules?

This really is complicated. We also have to remember that if the resort did get the photo from a source in Curacao, there's no telling how many times it changed computers.

I agree - I too believe the headboard looks like it is cheap and made out of metal rather than wrought iron. The heart part looks like maybe a plated brass.

I was thinking about this bed while laying in my bed at 4am this morning when I couldn't sleep. The heart appears to be a different color than the actual frame. Is it silver or gold color?

I think the heart on the bed is more like this one in the pic (that is the back of a chair). I kept looking at the scroll of the heart on the bed last night and thinking it looked familiar. The chair is the one I was sitting in. :blushing: My chair though is wrought iron and was made in Sicily in 2003.

I really think it's a full sized bed. Twin mattresses are 39 X 75 inches (or 99 X 190 cm). A full sized mattress measures 54 X 75 inches (or 137 X 190 cm).

With the way she's reclining in one of the photos, it looks apparent to me that it's definitely wider than 39 inches. Also noticed...no box spring. The headboard does look cheap, as another poster mentioned, not real wrought iron. Almost like two different colored metals, maybe same type of metal. Maybe it's one of those that is held together by screws. I think the nightstand is supposed to match, but is not attached to the bed.

I think you are right. When I looked at it last night, the bed appeared so small, but to be a twin in the pose she was in, she would have likely fallen off.

We lived in Sicily in the early 2000s and having no box spring was the norm for Europe (we saw it as we traveled too). I don't know about the Caribbean though, but I have noticed from watching HGTV that quite a few of the Caribbean homes have the cheapish looking beds with no box springs.

As a missing person, Amy has an Interpol yellow code. It means that if she is recognized, Interpol must be contacted.

There are so many ways that they could be moving her from place to place and I'm sure they have given her false documents. They could be moving her with cruise ships, smaller boats, private airplanes, cars, etc.

Airports have become pretty sophisticated since 9/11 so I wonder if they take that risk. Small airstrips are all over the Caribbean and South America. Law enforcement has told me that some of the ports and harbors in the Caribbean are pretty basic. Places in Jamaica still do Customs and Immigration with pen and paper.

I would like to know how they got her to San Francisco. This seems like such an unlikely place, but it really was Amy in San Francisco.

I think it's not real rigid when people go from country to country in the Caribbean. Every morning, wooden boats arrive from villages in Venezuela to Willemstad in Curacao. The boats are full of fresh vegetables and produce. There is a floating market in Willemstad every morning. I don't know how well these boats are checked.

Regarding the ORIGINAL photos...and I'm sure the FBI did this, but did they look at all the metatag information on the photos? You can add metatag information to a photo, but sometimes the camera/scanner/etc will do it automatically and the user may not even realize it.

I'm certain the FBI had to have done this.

I surely hope this was done! I actually just learned this was possible about a year ago with pictures and your phone and cameras did this automatically unless you shut off the feature. Was this technology available 2004 and before when Amy's photos would have been taken? I do not know much about technology! Not my forte!

The people who have taken her are very good at what they do, there is no disputing that, taking her to San Fran was a calculated risk but keep in mind at that time she was already missing for several years. Since they are so good I'm sure they have the ability to come up with documents to have her travel to and from anywhere they want. Also it's been almost 14 years since she disappeared and as we all know people change. Under the stress she's been under I wouldn't be a bit surprised if she looks much older than she should.

I know this is probably impossible but I wonder if anyone has any technology that they can use on the photo's we have that could do an age progression to today and take into consideration stress? If you look at pictures of Presidents from the time they initially took office and the time they leave they look MUCH older than they really are.

I just watch the interview with Jaimie Dugard she said she had many opportunities to say something but thought if she did she would be harmed. Also if you look at her today she looks nothing like I would have thought she should look like.

Again, just thinking out loud.

I will be going on a mission trip this summer to the Caribbean. I will be working out in the villages and will be keeping my eye out for Amy everyday I am there. I will be in the Dominican Republic which is much farther north than she has even been known to be in the Caribbean though. But the DR is rated worse in human trafficking that all the other islands she has been spotted at (at least from the country Tier ratings) so who knows where she may be?? I'll still try.

Yes, they had even done age progression photos for Jamie and they were not very accurate. But I guess it is rare to have someone taken as a child and then be able to compare the progression photos to the actual person 18 years later. I was not very impressed! Maybe they are more accurate when the victim is older? She did look similar though in 2004. But it's 8 years later so who knows now.

I have no doubt that this is a very well organized group and they have financial funds available. Consider how easily they moved her from the cruise ship. Multiple people were involved with that kidnapping. I believe they are making a lot of money doing some very illegal things. I wouldn't doubt that they could purchase boats, small planes, etc.

Amy probably does look a lot older than she normally would have looked. She has been described as being very thin which I'm sure adds some years to her face. Who knows what kind of nutrition she has had, although I suspect it probably hasn't been at a level of neglect, because they need her. The stress that Amy has likely endured is impossible to imagine. I have no doubt that she has been sexually, physically, emotionally, and mentally abused.

Amy has been described as appearing frightened. There's no telling how they have threatened her to force compliance.

I have to tell all of you that you are light years beyond me with all of the photography information. I just want you to know how important it would be if we could figure out where that photograph was taken and where that bed was from.

I am guessing when I say that the photograph was taken, or the image came from a video, prior to appearing on the escort website. That would have been in 2004. The image is eight years old.

FindAmy - if you still have the original photos that you downloaded from the escort site, there is a chance you can pick up the meta data encoded in the picture. I ran the pictures that are posted on hyscience, but since they were compiled in Photoshop, I am only getting a Nov. 2005 date and what version of Photoshop he used to put together the 2 images.

If you have images that are straight from the web and haven't been altered with any graphics program like Photoshop, there is a chance to get the original data.

Here is a site that you can use: http://imgops.com/. After you upload the photo(s) you'll need to click the link that says "Hidden data: exif/xmp/gps"

Do you think that her captives were so pre-meditated in their plans that the furniture was also a red herring - (ie. similar as to how they are trying to portray Amy)? Maybe they are entertained by what they deem to be "futile attempts" by the searchers to find the "amy'" that they purposely mis-portrayed in the pictures? This may be all part of their game - to throw everybody off with false leads and to further psychologically manipulate poor Amy by showing her that even when she reached out nobody cared?....NOT that they didn't care - maybe they just assumed she was a prostitute being overseen by her johns and her captives knew this was an easy way to fly under the radar; and also mislead the investigation. Maybe there should be age progressed pictures of what she would look like with assorted hair styles. Assuming the people who chose her have financial means she probably could look entirely different. also... Was the older man on the cruise (whom her mother was initially suspicious of) ever identified? So hope this can be solved somehow for the family.

PeggyAnn, you are absolutely wonderful.

I don't think my images came directly from the website. The website was shut down before I got images. I know that mine were passed through several computers. Hyscience is probably going to be much better than what I have.

I do know that the photographs of Amy were taken down from the website on August 23, 2005.

You are making some very important points. I do believe that the escort resort photos were a red herring. It's very possible that even the photo background was a red herring. I just don't know. The handlers have done some really dumb things, but then the entire kidnapping was well planned and executed.

I know they have mentally manipulated Amy. Her family and LE believe that the young men in the car were taking pictures with that telephoto lense for a reason.

Does anyone have any idea how we could get various age progression images? There is software for that.

Iva has said that the man was middle-aged with dark hair. She noticed him and Amy had also commented about him. Iva doesn't know if he was crew or a passenger. He's never been identified.

I wonder if furniture stores in Curacau have websites.

This one looks like a pay-as-you-go aging software.
