I know this bed is different, but every time I am searching for the headboard online, this photo keeps stalking me. The heart is very similar to the one on the bed in the photo...I think that's why it keeps jumping out at me. There are significant differences (one being that this is a daybed), so I know it's not "the" bed, but maybe the company made another one using the same heart style?

Maybe this photo will leave me alone now that I've posted it for you all to see! LOL

Did you see anything that resembled the bed? I wish we knew what country to look in.

That's a definitely possibility. I don't know what year the photos were taken, but photo editing software has been around for many years. I think the first version of Photoshop came out in the late 80's.

The photo that I think is the most suspicious is the 1st one you posted on post #731. There's something about the pixelation on the right that is almost too patterned. This may very well be because the photo has been enlarged, but I've been mulling it over since last night when I was working with the pictures.

I think this is the one you are referring to. Thank you for all that you are doing. You have just becaome our photography expert. Please keep mulling it over.

The photograph above looks very blurred and I wonder if this was intentional so that ear piercings, body scars, tattoos, and the bruises we identified earlier wouldn't be identified.

I wonder if these pictures are stills from a Video, is there software that could possibly clear up the blurriness? I have no idea if such programs or tools even exist but normally if you take a photo against a wall you'd see a shadow. Just thinking out loud

Hello,
I have been following this thread and find her case both troubling and intriguing. I did some searching and came up with a pretty close match to the headboard. I know it isn't exact but I think it could at least be the same manufacturer considering the close resemblance and style. I posted a link to the product site that shows a pic of the bed and its stats. Also noted is that with the style no box spring is needed.

FindAmy, do you know anything has been put out about Amy's disappearance through TripAdvisor.com? I know people log on there about places they visit or plan to visit, perhaps getting this out there to that website might make people who are travelling to her last known destination be on the look out?

Welcome to WS!
Thanks for the amazing first post, with the link to a very similiar bed post!!

Just beachy that photo resembles the heart right down to how it curls at the bottom!!

I have been wondering about the 80's (rock) style of hair and heavy makeup, especially the blush on the cheeks. Is that the "look" that they were going for, or is it to hide what seems to be bruises on the cheek?
As for dating the photo, I am thinking that hair growth might indicate how long after going missing the pic. was taken, considering that Amy's hair was very short at that time, average hair growth for a year might be about 6 inches..

To the poster who said that it could be a chair in the corner... could that possibly be maybe worn vinyl that has curled back from the seat?

I'm wondering if the photo was taken with a regular film camera (not digital), then scanned onto a computer so it could be posted? Scanned pictures tend to be kind of fuzzy-looking.

This is brilliant. I don't think anyone has ever noticed that there are no shadows in those photographs.

Amy's story is pretty common on the cruise ship forums, but I don't know about TripAdvisor. If you know of a way to get the information out there, please go for it. She disappeared while docking in Curacao.

Iva worked on this for a while. The witnesses in Barbados (2005) reported a longer length of hair than the witnesses did in San Francisco (2003). The Porto Marie sighting was just a few months after she disappeared and we didn't really get much detail from the Chief Petty Officer.

It started to get complicated because the hair style seems to be layered which means that it was continuously being cut.

Amy has brown hair. It's a really nice brown and you can see it in her photographs. In a lot of these sightings and in the escort photos, her hair looks almost black. Amy doesn't have black hair. Amy's brother is in his mid 30s and he is greying. It's very possible that Amy is naturally greying, too.

I have to tell all of you that you are light years beyond me with all of the photography information. I just want you to know how important it would be if we could figure out where that photograph was taken and where that bed was from.

I am guessing when I say that the photograph was taken, or the image came from a video, prior to appearing on the escort website. That would have been in 2004. The image is eight years old.

You're right. That has happened to me.

Regarding the ORIGINAL photos...and I'm sure the FBI did this, but did they look at all the metatag information on the photos? You can add metatag information to a photo, but sometimes the camera/scanner/etc will do it automatically and the user may not even realize it.

I'm certain the FBI had to have done this.

The FBI doesn't share any details. I know they worked on the photos, but they won't release details of their results.

Would all of this photo information be available if the photo had been a still from a video?

I don't think so but it's so hard to tell. To me it looks like a box is on top of something, perhaps makeup the person or persons used. And of course it could be a magazine or book. I wish there was a way to enhance it. Soooo frustrating

This was in response to the poster who asked if I thought this could be rolled up/ripped vinyl Sorry I haven't figured out how to bring the comments over with my post
