My comments in red.
Didn't Joran VDS have ties to Thailand and some "dancers"?
I've been thinking about this (BBM): I think you are exactly right! When did the Bradley's leave for this cruise? What day (day 1, day 2, etc) was this invitation to C&C? My biggest :waitasec: moment is: WHY AMY? Out of everyone on that ship, why did they single her out? IMHO, this wasn't some spur of the moment decision to take her, obviously.
* The man that Iva said was watching them. Is there a description of him? (Maybe I missed it. If so, I apologize.)
* It was the Portuguese waiter (Cabrito) that asked her to go to C&C. It was also him that told Brad (IIRC) that he was sorry she was missing, before any ship personnel knew she was missing.
* Then the ship photos - all pictures of Amy were missing. And, Iva has a receipt for reprints, but never received them. Why not?
* AD's attempt to make everyone think he was asleep in his room since 0100. He just didn't realize he had been seen with her. So, it's obvious he was lying and staged his "sleeping in his room".
* The Captains lack of concern (IMHO) for Amy being missing. I would have thought they would have locked things down until a thorough search of the ship was performed. And, by thorough, I mean rooms, storage rooms, containers, etc.
And, the Security (I think) guy that told the staff video engineer (Steve) to remove any evidence of Amy from any videos. That was stated in the story by the television director and video editor (Chris Fenwick).

Wednesday March 24, 1998 Morning Rumors about a girl (Amy) missing from the ship
Thursday March 25th, 1998 Chris went to Steve's room: Steve casually informed Chris that he had been instructed by ship security to make sure that there were no images of the missing girl in his Cruise Video, the type of videotape that you would buy at the end of your cruise showing all the great things that you had done all week on board. :waitasec: If the ship had nothing to hide, then why did they want these images deleted?
Friday Afternoon "Mid afternoon on Friday, while I was in my room working, I recieved a phone call. The man on the phone told me his name was Lou Costello..........He asked me if, I was the guy with the video tape of the missing girl I told him that yes, I was. At that point he told me that he was going to have to get that tape from me." Who is Lou Costello and why would he need the master tape? ETA: So, Lou was the Safety Officer for Royal Caribbean at that time. He was promoted, apparently, to Fleet Safety Manager at Royal Caribbean International in May 2006. And, he is still employed by RCI. http://www.linkedin.com/in/loucostello
...........sorry for my rambling. I think the answer is right in front of our face, but the question is...what are we looking at? Does that make sense? Clear as mud to me.
So much in one post.
The waiter asked Amy to go to Carlos and Charlies the night before she disappeared.
This was not a spur of the moment decision to kidnap Amy, in my opinion. It was well planned and very organized. I have wondered if they were looking and planning for a victim, for a period of time. Amy was taken because she met the criteria for their needs.
Iva does not know who was watching Amy. He was a dark haired middle aged man.
The Portuguese waiter was overly attentive to Amy. He invited her to Carlos and Charlies, and he expressed regret to Brad.
Amy's photos disappeared. The photographer gave Iva a receipt and told her that he would make new pictures from the negatives. Iva still has the receipt. The photographer is not in question.
Alister Douglas has claimed that he did not have contact with Amy in the morning. He claims that he last saw Amy at 1:00 AM in the disco area. He has claimed that he did not have contact with Amy in Porto Marie. He was given an opportunity to appear on the Vanished program, but he declined. He later contacted the producers and complained that he had been unfairly represented.
The Captain's response to Amy's disappearance was deplorable. His concern was not to upset the other passengers. He refused to make any announcements and he refused to monitor people disembarking in Curacao. He assured the Bradleys that a complete search of the ship had been done, but this was not correct.
I can't speak for Royal Caribbean or their reasons why they wanted Amy's photos removed from everything regarding the cruise. Chris Fenwick did not work for Royal Caribbean. He was making the video for a private group on the cruise.
You are correct that the hotel witness was not a Naval Officer. I have continually identified him as a sailor or a Chief Petty Officer from the US Chandler. I have no idea why people insist on promoting him to the rank of an officer.
