Or green, or dark gray, or any darker shade of paint. No need to go thinking it was a government car

Exactly. Besides Black was a color option for model years 2008-2012 which was the model year description given by the witness.

No, I really was wondering what the most likely demographic was for the perpetrator, if there is one. I can't rule out an accidental death (drug overdose or whatever, then friend/boyfriend/whoever panics,) and I hate to even imagine a suicide, but they are possibilities.

I suppose that anything is a possibility, but it ought to line up with the evidence that has been revealed so far. Of course, we don't know all the facts, but we do know that there was evidence of cocaine use, and there was a pkg of ammunition found. Those are facts. There was a comment made that no one would ever find the gun, but considering the source, that might have been smokescreen bs.

LOL, that's exactly where my mind went!

How far away are the neighbors from the abandoned home, and approximately how many homes are in the area? Excuse me, I have trouble with maps and judging distances, and always admire how intelligent some of you are with your maps. As soon as I saw that house it gave me the creeps, just like in Hannah Graham's case. Also, do we know what kind of car or cars WH sister may drive? Also, thank-you to the people that have spoken about mental issues, it helps some of us in more ways then can be expressed.

Was it ever determined that they found a phone at the pond? I had been hoping that LE was quietly gathering information (his phone?) and, then, warrants to get WH's phone data. Finding out his locations could help them zero in on that abandoned property. The tower triangulation of the pings can be pretty accurate.

If he had been in the area (where she was found) with a burner phone or his phone, they might have been looking for evidence on Wednesday--- witnesses or something obvious that would allow them to enter the property. Without an obvious sighting, they may have gone back and gotten a warrant to enter the property on Thursday.

In any event, I am relieved she is found and can be buried with dignity and respect. WH's interviews and comments almost felt like he was baiting LE with information in relation to their competence. I hope her family and his family find peace. My heart goes out to her mom, her bio-dad, Zach, and siblings.

I'm not sure those items of evidence go with this crime. They might, IDK. I'm thinking they had to lock WH up for his own good & that of the investigation. I could be 100% wrong though.

No, no they didn't. Now I'm not about to go sleuthing the property owners or anything but something lead LE right straight to this address.

Thoughts on what it could have been?

His phone pings?
AJ's phone?
Both of their phones?
Employment records turned over to LE from employer?
Address written down on a piece of paper in WH's wallet?
Address was listed on something WH owns or rented?

??

It could be a lot of things in my opinion.

I think they were hip to the general area of where he was working, and with the timing, surmised the disposal site was somewhere nearby. Maybe he participated in past criminal activity at this location (drug deal, etc)...

I'm not sure what electronic footprint info they have if any, but let's say IF they didn't necessarily have anything strong ping-wise, they might have been able to think to look at prior job sites...man, it really can be a lot of things...honestly I'm so worn out from the past 2 days here I can barely post...

In summary, I think the possibilities are endless...something led them there, or at least really close, that's for sure!

Hey, this brings up a thought...someone asked way back if there is any chance WH confessed..it wouldn't take so long for them to find her if he confessed specifically (again, unless she crawled away from the shed maybe). In fact, don't they usually bring the perp out the site with them to show LE exactly where the victim(s) was placed? I've seen that done a lot---Travis Forbes...then there was another young lady recently who was murdered, I can't remember her name right now :(, but IIRC and am not dreaming this he disposed of her in a dumpster...maybe I'm imagining this but they brought him to the landfill to search??

@[redacted] Norfolk police say they didn't find anything related to the search for AJ in their work today. Not finished looking in pond.

@[redacted] Not as of right now. One neighbor reports seeing police searching wooded area outside of pond area Thursday night.

If they found WH's property or items, they would not necessarily be related to AJ and, therefore, not necessarily disclosed.

I also think his sister is probably assisting in relaying the information she got that was inconsistent.

Not saying this is the case here, but LE has to secure a warrant to get cellphone info from the provider. Sometimes this takes time (38 days would be an extra long time imo, in JR's case it took under a week iirc?). Yes, if the victim is still alive, timing is indeed crucial.

Also, with regards to leads (not specifically pings), they are often "prioritized" by LE; who knows when they decide to follow up on whatever leads, sometimes they can be a lot of tips to weed through. In Jessica R's case it was thousands, iirc. Again, not saying this is the case here, but you see these horror stories on TV crime shows about potential leads that sit on a desk for who knows how long.

Eta: I think LE has likely been on top of things here from the beginning in this case. But there was this one case here where a family member was trying to find his/her loved one a long time ago, I can't remember which state it was (again VA mp cases that I've seen seem to have been handled quite well recently imo). They filed a mp report, but the detective on the case then went on vacation for a week!

That was the Lea Porter case. I was appalled. She still hasn't been found, and I doubt she ever will be. :(

**From my post 3/28/15 thread #8**

I've said this several times but I feel it needs repeating. Statistically women who go missing or are murdered are likely to know the person responsible...by an overwhelming percentage. And amongst those who run away, there are numerous risk factors that they very often have in common with other runaways. AJ, it would appear, does not have the combination of risk factors that would usually inspire someone to want to run.

I'm so glad you posted this because for a long time I have really been stuck on this random predator thing in most cases I follow---then it turns out lately that all of the last few cases I have followed, it has been someone close to the victim----mostly "family"!!!!!!!

I haven't spoken much, but I've been here following all along. This could be way wrong, but I thought I'd share a thought I had. What if she was taken there without knowing who it was that took her? Maybe she had her head covered or was drugged. What if this person had the idea to keep her there, do what he wanted with her (still alive), but then gradually providing clues to lead everyone to her (while at the same time setting up someone else). In this way, he could fulfill his own sick mental issues and then save the day when she's found alive and get his wife back by being the hero. What he didn't count on was being arrested.. Just a thought I had.
That would explain JH's insistence that AJ was safe. She said that more than once.

Based on posts from the Bring AJ Home FB page the sister lives 8 hours away in another state. Hope it's okay to say that.

(I just want to say, I actually really like it sometimes when new people come to the threads and ask about things that have supposedly already been covered a million times...it keeps us on our toes! It keeps us from just assuming that something is the way it is just because we have thought it for so long. Kwim? :) )

Fresh eyes on known info is always good. It's easy to miss things.

I don't even know how it didn't hit me until right now but... hubby and I just bought a black Chrysler mini-van 2 weeks ago.
Yeah, honey, you need a break from the computer! [emoji12]

I keep checking to see more charges coming his way!

This is completely my opinion in general & not specific to any of the reporters covering this.

You all are much better at keeping tabs on things like court & jail records than media are. I would keep an eye out rather than wait for them to report it. (How many stories have you all had to tip them off about so far on this case?)
