I personally don't believe she has been cremated, YET!
Is it normal to NOT have an urn at a memorial service?
I ask because the relatives in my family have all had burials.
In most cremations I've seen, the remains are presented at the service. But bear in mind, this was a sudden, unexpected death. It is entirely possible that a family might have decided to hold the service prior to the remains being cremated...for any number of reasons. Perhaps they don't have the money for cremation prior to the service, perhaps the wanted to hold the service sooner than the remains were available, perhaps they don't have the money for an urn or haven't yet decided on which urn they want to buy, or perhaps they simply choose not to have the remains visible at the service for whatever reason. Perhaps investigators requested that the family hold the remains for cremation until such time as they advised them to go ahead with the cremation. Who knows?
