yes has been empty for about 6-7 months maybe. and i will say that there are houses after the meat plant so its possible a homeowner found the items and called it in. if they are searching all the way up to st brides they must have evidence to search that far up. the lot they were congregating in must just be a meeting spot to accomodate all the vehicles.
