And why is she making fun of him being in 21 Jump street? It was a huge hit show and he was a star because of it.

Meanwhile she was in a slew of silly nothing shows herself. She'd have jumped at the chance to be in 21 Jump Street.

Just like she made fun of him for 'sitting around playing guitar with other fat ol boring men' ----meanwhile Johnny is playing guitar and performing and recording with the most elite musicians in the world.

She is just jealous so she berates him.
Yeah, she’d almost be hilarious if she weren’t so delusional… if Hidden Palms had become 21 Jump Street she’d be beside herself. Taunting him about the number of houses he has… it’s surprising her eyes have not turned green.

IMO when he said her ambition was ugly, that’s what he meant.

Judy, the court reporter’s commenting to a weekly magazine.
I just saw the People Magazine article and it appears they are taking their quotes from the Law & Crime Network interview.

In a clip from a new interview with Law & Crime Network, Judy Bellinger — who served as the court reporter and was called a "rockstar" by Judge Penney Azcarate — said that a "few" of the jurors drifted asleep at points during the trial. The juror's names will be sealed for at least one year, the judge previously ruled.

"There were a few jurors who were dozing off," she said, adding that the sleeping jurors were in both the front and back rows. "And it was tough. There were a lot of video deposition, and they would just sit there and all of a sudden I'd see their head drop."

Thanks for the clarification.

Right? I mean one of those fat old men is Alice freaking Cooper .

I think the 21 Jump Street thing is because Johnny isn't a fan of how things worked on the show and he didnt like having no say in the scripts or storylines,he resented having to film stuff he wasn't comfortable with and I think Amber hated the fact that he left Jump Street and stuck to his principles and still became one of the most sought after and respected actors in Hollywood.
I can see how that would sting for a nobody like Amber Heard who only had her looks and body to offer. MOO. JMO etc

I don't know her name, sorry..... but, wow, denial much?:

CBS Mornings Host: But Elaine, I think it was bigger than that, because you have the evidence, as you say, but they did not *believe* her. Why do you think they did not believe her?

Elaine: I think that a lot of that was that it was Johnny Depp.

:D:p:eek:;)o_O

That's a fantastic argument, the appeal is in the bag :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Someone pointed out the national statistics for IPV based on gender and I admit I was a bit shocked. Because, well, the media would have you believe the stats are much more skewed towards women=victims, men=perpetrators than they actually are:

National Coalition Against Domestic Violence:

NCADV | National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

  • 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner contact sexual violence, and/or intimate partner stalking with impacts such as injury, fearfulness, post-traumatic stress disorder, use of victim services, contraction of sexually transmitted diseases, etc.2
    • 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner. This includes a range of behaviors (e.g. slapping, shoving, pushing) and in some cases might not be considered "domestic violence." 1
    • 1 in 7 women and 1 in 25 men have been injured by an intimate partner.1
    • 1 in 10 women have been raped by an intimate partner. Data is unavailable on male victims.1
  • 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have been victims of severe physical violence (e.g. beating, burning, strangling) by an intimate partner in their lifetime.1

Came across this really good article by one of the youtube lawyers. She makes some great points, including a mention of the horrific and tragic Emmett Till case from the 1950s.

I know this was a real trial but, I'm having withdrawals...miss the memes and the WS quick quips.

Same here! Its not often you get to see one of your fave actors every day for 6 weeks. The dynamics between him and his attorneys was like a Netflix series. Everyday kicked off with his morning drive in with Bob Marley piping out from the car. We got to see him ‘doodling and eating candy’.

The memes and tiktoks are hilarious and so creative. I look at them almost every day. Now we are seeing his life in the musical realm...his happy place. Ive enjoyed watching him celebrate with the weight of the world lifted off.

After the tour ends it’s going to be hard not to see him as often:(

I still stand with you, sissy. Yesterday, today and tomorrow I will always be proud of you for standing up for yourself, for testifying both here in Virginia and in the UK, and for being the voice of so many who can’t speak to the things that happen behind closed doors. We knew that this was going to be an uphill battle and that the cards were stacked against us. But you stood up and spoke out regardless. I am so honored to testify for you, and I would do it a million times over because I know what I saw and because the truth is forever on your side. I’m so sorry that it wasn’t reflected in the decision made by this jury, but I will never give up on you, and neither will anyone who stands with you. Forever by your side… #istandwithamberheard
I have an adult relative who resorts to childish terms such as "sissy" or "mommy" when she is in the mood to gaslight.

We don't dare underestimatestimate their goals with their deliberate choice of words.

It’s a wonder they didn’t pass out or just say “kill me now” rather than watch AH’s fake stories. I would have fallen asleep too, except when JD was on the stand. His one liners are hilarious.

ETA: I love the judge. She was so fair and her smiles were priceless. Elaine could learn a lot from her.

They drug the expert testimony's out too long. When they do that they lose the jurors. (and the audience).
Yes, I've absolutely had to fight it more than once or twice myself... thankfully the jury box usually allows for being able to hide one's leg-jiggling, etc., steps to stay awake.

At one point CourtTV said jurors tend to doze off during highly technical thickets of information.

Could that be jury misconduct? Reason for appeal? Hope not. I wish it were addressed in the court room if it were an issue.

The actor, 58, was joined by his musician friend Jeff Beck, 77, and around 20 others in their entourage as they took over the chic Varanasi restaurant on Sunday night.

The group enjoyed a banquet of Indian food that had been specially prepared for them along with cocktails and Rosé Champagne.

(The owner sure had nice things to say about JD.)

It's doubtful that a juror nodding off would count as misconduct. It's up to the lawyers on both sides of the case to keep the jury engaged, through the persuasiveness of their argument. If it had been particularly noteworthy, you can bet the judge would have made a comment cautioning the jury to pay more attention.

Edited to add: Don't quote me on this, but I do believe (from following Lawtube channels) that one of the jurors who was thought to have looked sleepy/nodding off at some point was one of the two jurors who were randomly dismissed as alternates at the end.

Could that be jury misconduct? Reason for appeal? Hope not. I wish it were addressed in the court room if it were an issue.

Defendants who allege misconduct based on juror inattentiveness must show that:

  • the juror did in fact sleep or otherwise not pay attention during the trial, and
  • the juror missed important information that made it impossible to render a fair, informed, and impartial verdict.
Defendants should present evidence that a juror is sleeping or inattentive as soon as possible. Courts usually won't grant a motion for a mistrial or new trial if the defense knew that a juror was sleeping or inattentive but didn't bring it up until the end of trial.

While sleeping is the most obvious impediment to paying attention, problems also occur when jurors only partiallypay attention. For example, courts have found misconduct when jurors were reading, doing crosswords, writing letters, texting, and using social media. In contrast, momentary "dozing" and "head nodding" usually doesn't rise to the level of misconduct.
