VA - Johnny Depp's defamation case against ex Amber Heard, who countersued #3

Many thanks to those posting the trial summaries and love reading all the comments here! I have been trying to follow along but have been so busy with work. As I am trying to catch up, I have a few thoughts I was wondering about but they may have already been discussed.

One thing that really shocked me about Dr. Hughes's testimony today was that she said you can assess a relationship without talking to both partners!!?? Really?? To me, she lost all credibility there.

Also, when JD's team did their cross of her this morning and played the tape where AH was belittling JD and telling him she didn't punch him, was that the first time Dr. Hughes heard that tape? To me, she had a look on her face that seemed mad and as if she came to realize she was duped by AH.

I will say this though.

I do believe it when Heard says she had a traumatic childhood, and who knows, maybe it goes beyond that.

I don't believe she's pulled all this out of nowhere. I think she may be drawing on past experiences.

It does make me sad that she was most likely one of those child abuse cases that we all despair at. Unfortunately for some, this is the result when they reach adulthood.

I understand, and your explanation is entirely plausible. (Your post didn't come across as an excuse, at all.) I'd never questioned it (her childhood abuse) until today when watching her and thinking of the years of lies.

Also, along with her blather about his disapproving and throwing fits of/about her revealing clothing at mutually attended red carpet events, I give you… Vanessa Paradis, displaying (a), deep cleavage; (b), leg slit to knee; (c), bare arms with only cap sleeves… all in the same dress.

Multiple hundreds of people in multiple places have also scoffed at the idea that Amber could have stolen a dreadful sexual violation story from her a former assistant. ‘Yeah, who do you think YOU are, Kate James.’

lastly, it behooves us to keep in mind that these are real people; and the gravity with which Camille Vasquez said in opening,

“Johnny Depp is perfectly aware that whatever the result of this trial, he will go to his grave with some people still believing that he is a horrible wife-beating rapist.”

for all that to happen just to please some unhinged woman’s pride is pitiful, IMO.

I've also been thinking about what her new PR team is doing tonight (after her very poor performance today). It would be difficult to improve AH's rating even on "movie magic" or whatever that unheard of site was that her legal team mentioned a day or so ago.

personally, if the jury found he did 10 percent of what Amber said he did and discounted 90, I think JD would still be pleased even if the 10 percent meant he technically lost.

I’d kinda think it unfair because that would technically make it a loss; but if they think all the stuff he was actually taped doing qualifies as abuse, I don’t think he’d quibble… it’s just confronting the zero-proof nonsense, and the huge gulf it involves vaulting over in order to make the nonsense plausible.

In the face of years of so much suffering why did she choose to marry Depp? As has been asked on here and will no doubt be the first reaction of the jury, why? And having advice from varios profesional and family sources, she went ahead.

After having gone to pains that she was a scholarship A student so aware of social needs...it was already all about her

What a headache listening and watching! Hope the jury gets a good night's sleep.

Did anyone else notice when she tried to subtly suggest that JD was the mimic?, saying when he was with her father he took on a southern accent.
IMO she was trying to play to the idea that JD was the one with BPD as described by Dr. Curry, as well as hinting at the love bombing and gaslighting. Her projecting is scary!

That was interesting and may have been a bit of a slip up on her part, when she started describing, in a negative critical way, how he was treating all of her friends and family to gifts, trips, places to stay, and she kind of switched it up mid=sentence, and called him very generous.

that’s because she can’t make up her mind from day to day, as per the ‘bank card’ story, whether it is generous or demeaning for such a stellar feminist to accept gifts from a man, share a hotel room with a man, etc., so on and so forth; or if it is in fact supposed to be considered a heavy-handed male insult to feminism.

Heard testifies #JohnnyDepp held her by the arm during a fight and hit her in the face. She says that's where this bruise on her arm came from.
