Keepers is significantly more street smart than she is book smart, and that is saying something. Combined with her technical genius, this trial won't necessarily mirror her defense having to walk thru a swamp.

We all know about Walmart and Cookout but it's important to remember some of that was in advance of the murder. Then there's the data they got from the cell phones. Who knows what all that may show. Then there's the access log which I assume is to their dorms. Does it show her leaving before the murders but not returning until afterwards? And what the heck's the deal with Keepers' contacts? Was one found somewhere that matches her prescription?

Thanks John for pulling that up. I wish somebody could pull up those controversial Walmart surveillance stills of a 170 lb, high boots Keepers walking inn', but a drastically different 110 lb low boot Keepers walking out covering her face.

There was much talk about her possible use of a stunt double for various events that week. The prosecution was very careful not to mention that phrase in front of the jury.

It is very plausible that those omitted Target tapes show Keepers meeting with the stunt double.

Defense attorney John Robertson told jurors that #NatalieKeepers believed that plans to kill Lovell were a fantasy and that she went along with Eisenhauer to protect their friendship. Keepers did not intend to harm #NicoleLovell but to discourage Eisenhauer from killing her.

Petitt argued that #NatalieKeepers participated in all aspects of the murder of #NicoleLovell except the killing, and that she referred to herself as a "sociopath in training" under Eisenhauer.

#NicoleLovell's mother, Tammy Weeks, testified that her daughter did not have permission to leave the night she died and that she had a cell phone. She also testified that shes knew Nicole had a Facebook account and that she had written "I love David" in her room.

Virginia State Police Special Agent Russell Edwards (sp?) from the Wytheville division's criminal investigation unit on the stand now, testifying about being called to Virginia highway 89 and finding #NicoleLovell's body by the side of the road.

: Nicole suffered a blunt force trauma to the head. No distinct pattern to the wound, so no conclusion could be drawn on what hit her. Lovell had a fracture in one of her neck vertebra. Keepers has covered her face with one hand as Suzuki testifies.

Suzuki: Nicole sustained stab wounds and cuts to the face, neck and chest, and and stab wounds damaged her heart and lungs. But the fatal blow was a stab wound that severed the jugular vein on the left side of her neck.

Defense attorney Kris Olin asked Suzuki if she could identify with certainty weapons used in the attack on Nicole. Suzuki said the stab wounds and cuts were delivered by a sharp-edged item consistent with a knife.

Keepers later led police to the location of the murder and told police that Lovell's body had been left near Eisenhauer's grandparents' home near the North Carolina border. Police have said they found the remains, stripped of clothing, just off Virginia highway 89.

So, she supposedly wasn't present but gave a detailed account? Are we to believe Eisenhauer gave her a blow by blow description?
 
Well, here's the defense...

Defense attorney John Robertson told jurors that much of what they had heard and read about Keepers was incorrect, that she believed talk of killing Lovell was a fantasy and only went along with it to keep her friendship with Eisenhauer.

Robertson said he would present expert testimony that Keepers suffers from mental illness that was exacerbated by 27 hours of police interrogation. Robertson said Keepers intended to discourage Eisenhauer from killing Lovell.

She never took him seriously, and she should have, Robertson said. To find her not guilty, “you will not have to abandon logic and reason.”

Hite testified that Keepers told police she had items belonging to Lovell in her dorm room, including a blanket, cell phone charger and a bloody wipe. Hite said Keepers denied knowing Lovell's name or having met her.
