The FBI, Virginia State Police, as well as regional and local authorities plan to scale back for Wednesday's search. Police said they want to clarify 'scaling back' does not mean they're giving up, but simply using a methodical way of approaching their search.

So, even on Tuesday and Wednesday...there was the FBI, State Police, and other regional authorities that did not search the septic. It's not just LE that didn't search, it's multiple agencies. Yet, local LE is being bashed over and over here.

Oops...it might have been even earlier. Noah was found on Day 5, this article said that they have been searching 4 days with the FBI. http://wtvr.com/2015/03/26/noah-thomas-found-dead/

Local law enforcement and the FBI have spent the last four days searching for the missing child. Noah’s mother originally told police the boy disappeared Sunday while she was sleeping. Police previously said they believed Noah left on his own and there was no reason to suspect a kidnapping.

with most of the cases, we hear of people being questioned, news covers every aspect, but LE has "HUSHED" everything, WHY?
Makes me even more curious...............
What if they know now it was a horrible and tragic accident? They would be tying up loose ends of their investigation and preparing for what comes next. This was not only an ordeal for Noah's family and friends, but for every searcher, LEO, and person involved in this case. They have to come to terms with the loss, too. It is a close knit community and they are doing what close knit communities do...they are helping one another cope. They simply asked for the weekend to get their ducks in a row without awful things being said about the family in this case. I agree with them. It is not too much to ask.

You know, I'm wondering if the the whole 'wait till Monday' thing might be a paperwork issue -- maybe the proper judge/administrator is not available to set the paperwork in motion to file the charges properly until then. I used to do some business for an escort who would get a different hotel room each evening after business hours, because she knew the system in her locality was such that they would not find a judge to sign a search warrant for an infraction at her level after hours on a business day. The best they could do was first thing in the morning, at which time she would have moved on. Eventually they did get wise, or she got lazy and stayed at a room more than one night, because her room was raided, and it was spectacularly public, because she had a webcam going on at the time. The last scene on the webcam was an officer looking at the camera.

Actually I read many comments by people saying they should check the septic tank and drain the pond, since other missing have been found in them, by accident or murder. He could've been talking about calls they were getting suggesting areas, but what other areas could they be saying, except the septic and pond? The pond had already been checked by divers. They checked seven miles out on the ground, the property a few times, inside the home, talked to neighbors and checked other people's property, the pond, and the only thing left inside that area was the septic on the property.

It is my opinion that the lid of this septic tank was not visible and was under some grass/sod. I find it hard to believe that dozens of LE professionals would all repeatedly walk past a visible septic tank opening and not have it thoroughly searched first thing. It wouldn't have taken a "tip" to lead them in that direction if the opening had been visible enough a 5 yr old could have found it and fallen in accidentally.

But it was a known fact that each house had a septic tank.
The LE must have known there was a septic tank and decided not to search it.- maybe because it looked undisturbed/not visible?

So lets pretend that Noah left the house/got on his boots and jacket/grabbed his Pokemon tin (toy)/unlocked the door and walked out..(if the door was locked)

Noah had a guesstimate of about 2 1/2 hours on foot to get lost. (moms sleeping at 8:30 am - mom awakes and discovers he was gone at 10:30 am- calls LE at 11:00 am)

Noah was not a small helpless toddler - he was getting ready to turn 6 years old - walking/talking/knows the yard and neighbors- etc..

After 5 days of searching when does LE circle back and think:

1. Lets look closer at the house/yard - we would have found him by now within so many miles.
2. Amber Alert - someone took him.

Also it looks like a lot of open field was searched - not deep complex woods....

I would love to know why the Sheriff was so anti Social Media. As a local I can say without a doubt that SM did far more to get Noah out there than any of the local news did.

I believe you may have limited ideas when it comes to the amount of crazies LE finds from SM. It becomes a never ending barrage of fake leads, vague psychic tips, and virtually impossible things to track down when the internet gets involved in a case. Plus there was the crack-pot that supposedly hacked the guy's account and left horrendous messages which ended up in his lap. I know exactly why he would be so anti-social media!

They circled around back to the house several times. It's mentioned in many, many articles.

They did mention searching the woods. They searched at night also with infrared in the woods, because children who wander tend to hunker down and are still at night due to fear or exhaustion. I will try to find the article.

As far as #2...unfortunately, Noah's case does not even come close to being Amber Alert eligible.

LOL That was funny, glad she got caught. :)

It was Friday when the Sheriff got results back from the autopsy. I wonder if he's also waiting for the toxicology reports. I've not heard about those being completed.
Toxicology results take 7-8 weeks.

But, in reality, how many police departments go about DRAINING septic tanks as soon as someone goes missing?? That's a huge job. I don't think anyone should be blaming LE (not saying you are). Even if they'd drained it within the first hour, it would have been too late.

And, we must not forget that the FBI was also in charge since Sunday afternoon. I think they also could take responsability if the area around the house - sewer included - wasn't searched properly. I think this is not the problem here. They were looking for a child who they thought run off or was snatched. So, if they didn't see any disturbance on the ground around and over the sewer they wouldn't be suspicious of the sink.

My mind keeps going to a minor. Not sure what about a minor I am feeling just that it would certainly be a cause for the quiet.

That is incorrect. The FBI at no time took over this case from the local authorities. The FBI was invited in to provide forensic support and expertise. They were there only to assist not to take over.

The obit for Noah is very brief and does not include any personal touches at all. It does say full obit to fullow. I think the funeral home wrote the obit. They mention that they are handling the funeral arrangements. JMO

If my child dies, it would be no obituary. I would not like to share him with the world. My child, even dead, is mine, and it's no one's business but our family's what he was like in intimacy.

Then I misunderstood. Thank you for correcting ;)

I hope that out of this tragedy moving forward, LE searches septic tanks immediately if they are known to be in a neighborhood.

Some new photos of Noah at Help Find Noah Thomas:

https://www.facebook.com/findmissingnoahthomas?fref=ts

Those pictures got me! :(

He looks so full of fun, playing with his little friends. The lady who posted the pictures seemed to care for little Noah deeply.
The lady also said in one of the posts that tells who the people who run the group are in relation to Noah, that Noah was at her home a lot.
A lot of people loved him that's clear.
