That memory card has something on it that is of value to SG. Sentimental? Monetary? Something. Otherwise she'd have destroyed it. We can deduce that much. But what can be stored on a card that is of value? Photos? Access codes? Videos? What else?

The person making the comment tries to state that the little girl's name was mentioned in court documents and the newspaper, when in fact that is not true. The first time the little girl's name is mentioned is in this article dated June 5:

Gore's attorney, Ron Smith, said she had the memory card in a tissue in her hand for a long time. Investigators seized the memory card, believing it to be from her cell phone, because it could yield more information about the case. "The phone and the card had evidence that she wants to use in the event of trial, so she wanted to preserve that. She didn't want to give it to them," said Smith.
Smith added, "all it has is pictures of her daughter on it, there's nothing incriminating about it."

I'm glad the police got it and i hope it contains some useful evidence, but why in the world would she hide it? why not just destroy it? Its so small she could have chewed it up and eaten it! doesnt make any sense.

I'm sorry but they should have found it a long time ago! She should have been searched much better than she was.. how on earth does a prisoner keep a memory card concealed on their person all this time? LE failed here big time and I hope someone is held accountable! I'm shocked there is no outrage!

Thank goodness she didn't destroy this evidence.

Since this case I have read up on some cases involving feral children and in most cases they will never be able to catch up to others and in fact most cant even attempt language skills. (some have managed to do a rough form of sign language but very little actual spoken words).

Its sad to say but the damage these two did to this child are probably very harsh and very permanent. I hope Sunny is with someone very special that can help her flourish as much as possible.

Thanks for the links. Hopefully she saw the name published in a local paper or something that we don't have access to through the internet. I would hate to think that someone else knew that they had a child and was hiding it like that. Maybe you should forward the links to the comments to the police investigating the case. They may want to talk to that person and they can find them from that post.

And it was purely coincidental, according to Walsh. He says deputies were searching Shannon Gore's jail cell after she was found to be hoarding medication.

She apparently kept the card somewhere on her, then moved it to her bra at another time.

According to this morning's Daily Press, "The initial court appearance of the Gloucester couple charged with imprisoning one child and killing another has been pushed back several months." I read this in the local section of our paper but cannot find the online version to link it. I'll just quote what it says in the Local Briefs section (page 8):
"Originally scheduled for Tuesday in Gloucester County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, preliminary hearings for Brian and Shannon Gore will now not be held until Dec. 13, according to the court's clerk. No explanation for the delay was given, though a clerk said the continuance was requested by both prosecutors and the Gores' attorneys in order to allow enough time to prepare for the case."

I hope it's enough time to make certain this case against the Gores is absolutely airtight, beyond a reasonable doubt.

Lera, I just saw it on the evening news. I was very surprised to hear that Sunshine was released, as our social worker told us she would not be able to go into a home at this time. horrid. Poor caged child, name not even known, not missed by anyone, most didn't even know she existed. Awful. And now another unidentified child found deceased in the shed.

Who are these children? I cannot imagine they are hers. I wonder if he is known to have had any previous children or baby mamas?

The infant (her biological issue) appears to have been pretty well taken care of, at least that is insinuated in the articles I have read. People knew of it, saw it out with the mother, etc. No red flags on the infant.

Who are these other two children? Why the disparity in how they were treated? One is dead, on is caged and living in filth and the woman's infant being sported round town and shown off?

Very puzzling. I think alot more will come out on this one. Either he is the father of the deceased and the caged child and those children were "in the way" of the happy couple's lifestyle, or they were hers and he did not "take" to them but the infant is different because its his biological issue. MOO, lots of ugly gonna come out.

If the sex of the other child (buried or hidden in/under the shed) is a female, then it probably is that one or both of them did not want daughters, as had already been posited. I guess the one in the cage is there because 1) she is a girl and "doesn't matter" and is therefore undesirable 2) she is just a little experiment/entertainment for their amusement 3) they couldn't afford child care, so if she stays in her cage, she won't hurt anything or steal their food; one of them does once-weekly cleanup duty if they feel like it 4) maybe the little girl is not cute anymore (back to the theory of "Puppy Parents")

Does VA have the DP? If so, can they do a "double"???

I just don't get how close friends and family members could "not know" of this child (the two year old starved one). This makes no sense to me. Who is this child???? How could no one know of its existence if it is biologically either of these fine citizens????

The only thing I can think of is that they (or whichever parent) did not want a girl, so she was thrown into the cage very early in her life; or, that she was sickly or "always crying" shortly after birth, and she was "thrown away" for either of those reasons

"Well, we didn't do too good this time. A girl -- yuck. Nobody wants girls. Let's try for a boy again, honey. We've got a pretty good chance."

I'm a local here and this is my area just a few miles away. I've not followed this case only because in case I get called for Jury duty. If anyone needs help with area information I can help there.
