I think her victim impact statement will shake all of us to the core. I'm not overly emotional but she is one strong woman with a very strong presence representing Tim everywhere
Even though the sentence is automatic, a sentencing hearing is apparently held approximately a month after the verdict is handed down.
Here's a recent Ontario example of a sentencing hearing following a first-degree murder conviction:

I wish that she didn't have to make a victim impact statement. Surely it can be understood without SB having to say anything. Wouldn't just showing a photo of her husband holding their little girl be sufficient? Looking at that photo drives me to my knees. It presses deep furrows into my brow. Surely her grief and loss are beyond words.
I don't think she has to do anything she doesn't want to do. The opportunity is there for her if she wants it.
No. One for his lawyer. Is there a new trial to begin on Monday for DM?
Just seems willing to report anything she hears while the other reporters look for more confirmation.

I got the impression that perhaps she knows one of the guards or someone at the jail, and was told the 'different' info than other reporters were privy to, ie she said about DM screaming while being escorted back to the wagon to travel back to the HWDC; then the story about the shiv in the wall AT the HWDC; then the thing about 'Goofy'.. all of those 'extra things' she had, but nobody else had, were all related to something that happened either in the jail or during the transit process to/from the jail. moo. If she is hearing this first-hand from one of the staff who happens to be her friend.. then I wonder if the friend told her with the understanding that she would be reporting the stuff on live TV news, or if it was supposed to be in confidence. I doubt if she would risk a friendship if it was supposed to have been in confidence, but who knows?

It was reported that NS is starting a new murder trial on Monday, I believe it was SC who tweeted that. I will look for the post.Sorry can you expand on this?
We really have no indication as to who was using or how much they were using. For instance, heroin was mentioned, but it was only Millard that did it and only once. We heard that the toolbox was brought out at parties, but nothing to reveal this was a daily thing. No indication that they were high that night either. And Roid Rage? Maybe, but that is a symptom of long term heavy use and Millard quite frankly didn't have a body that indicated that.
Sorry can you expand on this?
The defence lawyers have had temporary offices on the sixth floor during the trial, so they mostly wait in there. Nadir Sachak, one of Millard's lawyers, has a new murder trial on Monday that he's preparing for.
i wonder who he's representing <modsnip>From Susan Clairmont's article in the Spec:
Sachak is representing a different client in a case that begins next week.

Makes me wonder if it's related to Judge Glithero's extraordinary in camera session last year:

Why do you wish that? The VIS is an option to the victims to take or not. SB no doubt will choose to address the convicted. She is a strong personality and I am sure she has been waiting to address them publicly for a long time. Her words to them will be impactful, haunting and likely leave an impression on these 2 that will continue to affect and haunt them during their sentence. She will find a way with her words to inflict pain that only she can. Not to be spiteful but to make them aware of what they have done and she will do it in a way they will never forget. All the power to her. This will be her chance for justice and a step toward closure and building her new life.
