I find a massive disparity between American courts and Canadian courts, just from personal experience as a juror in a Canadian court.

There is rigourous defence and then there is a smearing of the victim. I see no rigourous defence in the JA case. It is not logical or reasonable; it is all about smearing the victim. If the defence in the LM case smears the victim do you think that would be a rigorous defence? Because rigour is an intellectual definition. Trashing the victim is not.

I agree there are some big differences in our justice systems but the overall adversarial design is the same. I never said that I support assassinating the victim and, in fact, I find the practice completely abhorrent but I do not set the rules for the court. It would have been wonderful if this judge could have done something to stop TA's name from being dragged through the mud but the system doesn't work that way. In the case of a true victim of domestic violence this would be a good thing. Ultimately, JA's defense tactics didn't work. I think the majority of reasonable, logical people did not believe any of the garbage that the Defense put forward with regard to TA and were outraged by it. Will LM's defense be that his poor victim begged to be be murdered, dismembered and cannabalised, probably - nothing would surprise me. I can assure you I will be just as appalled if that happens as I have been at the victim bashing at this trial but, yes, I would still consider it a rigourous defense. I never once said that I liked it, approved it or supported it in any way and I'm sorry that is what you read into my comments.

EDIT TO ADD - another post, I can't find now said JC said granny got arrested??? I can't see that, so I am asking. How dare her scam. Bet her hanky was fake too. GRRRRRRR.

Granny walks way way better than I do and I'm only 63! Some days I just can't believe I can't walk like I used to. Scary thought is if someone were coming after me I don't know that I could run away!

It's hard to prove whether or not someone was a friend of a person who is not here. It would not surprise me if the DT is pulling this by picking someone who Travis may have run into while at church or something but nothing more. MOO

Ah no. Debra Milke is off death row, thanks to a crooked cop in her case. She never should have been there. There are only two now that were put there now pretty recently.

She's still there for right now .. the state is appealing
