I have mentioned this trial to a few friends and a couple of family members. Got the same reaction.

I started with Anna Nicole Smith...It was worse. Two of my friends who were battling cancer would ask their doctors about the drug and autopsy findings. All the doctors were hooked by the end of the story. My "normal" friends thought I was nuts. But my friends with cancer are still here, now following this trial. Justice is a fascinating thing when you see it from the outside in. May none of us ever find ourselves on the inside looking out :jail:

Just surfed past HLN on the tube as I was going thru the channels.
It's disgusting.
Front of the courthouse area ... all lit up like Christmas. People milling around, panel of 6-8 talking heads holding court.

I know this trial has drawn national/international attention - but HLN is over the line. IMO
HLN turns these trials into a circus.
Sensationalism for $$$$$.

I pray the jury and families are escorted into a back entrance.
One of these days these idiots are gonna be the cause of a mistrial.

2nd you must not have see JVM where she grabbed Barb (think name) arm as she was walking out of court HOLDING HER ARM ask'n her questions even after she said she couldn't talk about it anymore.. This is one of Travis's friends woman who worked with him & has been in court almost everyday supporting TA's sibs..

I have met her she is very reserved lady and not in anyway wanting to be in spotlight and I'm personally PI$$ED AT JVM for this completely insensitive move!! :stormingmad:

Yeah, and they don't indicate a transfer from to the other, do they? Doesn't a transfer indication one balance goes down? These are going up (one up from negative, albeit), except the $100 one isn't indicating much.

Why? JA had 3 cans in Salt Lake City!!!

She needs to have that receipt to get cash back. Otherwise, it's store credit, and ONLY if you have your ID with you. ID info gets put into the system for anything over ten dollars

I'm watching HLN. They have 2 jury panels (24 total mock jurors) they were just asked if they believed JA returned the gas can. Not one person said they thought she did.

If the real jury thinks the same way, I would think they would have to see the gas can issue alone as proof of premeditation, right? She was planning it right there in Salina. If it wasn't premeditation, why would she lie, and they know she lied if they took notes during JM's cross.

Forget the bullet/knife first, DV, rental car, all of it. To me, the fact that the gas can was not returned as she lied about is enough for 1st degree, am I correct?

You can't show a transcript of a witnesses testimony to the jury.

You can show a transcript of a witnesses' trial testimony to the jury in closing. Most definitely, you can. Not sure why you think otherwise. You can show transcripts in other situations, too. But they're not relevant to this situation

I'm sorry but I completely disagree. He is NOT the case Zenaida. Zenaida was an "innocent party" that didn't even know CA. MM knew JA well; so well in fact, that he stated he would lie for her. He proceeded to do so on the "innocent" website and subsequently DISAPPEARED! I hope he's having a good time in hiding! NOT. Shame on him.

Can you give me the short summary of who MM is and the story behind him. I caught bits and pieces about him, but dont understand how he knew her or what the big deal is with him.

Thank you <insert humbled tears> it is an honor and so easy to do with members like you and all here at Websleuths. I am kinda feeling sad tonight, realizing this is for the most part my last big trial online. My eyes have grown so bad and the computer makes them worse - so I have to cut way back after the case. But, I will be here when I can and I will always remember the wonderful people I met and was touched by along the way!
(Won't need the moisturizing eye drops tonight! LOL)

We really don't know what happened in those hundreds and hundreds of cases, do we? We only know of what has happened in cases that have come up in the media. The fact that a jury can let a MOTHER go (as innocent) when she didn't report her daughter missing AT ALL for a month is beyond belief. So we're all left quite sceptical about what the "law" permits.

I DO know about many, many cases (100's of cases). LOOK here on our trial thread for one thing and I look in my own backyard (courthouse).

ONE case doesn't compare to another. Each has their own facts. Each has their own testimony. Each has their own witnesses. Each has a different victim/defendant. How hard is that to understand? Why compare? Is Florida the exact same as AZ? No, it's not, IMO. Two totally different cases. BUT the comparison is unending, ongoing and tiresome ... to ME.

That is awesome. You made your point, and maintained your dignity and class at the same time.

It was hard to filter myself, but I have spent the last few years trying to teach my kids how to speak their minds while maintaining control. in 2011 our family got to expirience what happens when someone like Jodi is in your mists. My hubbys brother was arrested for indecent liberties with a student. My husband always knew his brother had serious issues and we had not had any contact with him years, but he lives in the same state and it made the news state wide. He was arrested in front of his 7 year-old son and 7 week old baby. The girl was not only his student, but also his sons babysitter. My7 husbands parents took the stance that BIL was not at fault for this. The 16 yo girl was, his wife was, but he wasn't. Long story short, my husband has been disowned for not carrying the family banner. During all of that, we tried to drive home to our kids that 1, it is never wrong to stand up for what is right and defend the inncoent and 2, number 1 can be done without jumping into the mud. Truth be told, in the privacy of my own thoughts and a few convos with hubby I have gotten deep in the mud. My brother-in-law is part of the reason I feel so strongly about this case. He really is an abuser, he really is a pedofile. For Jodi to falsely accuse Travis of these things hurts Travis over and over which is just evil, but it also makes it that much harder for real victims to get justice.

KN says Jodi isnt the first person to have a phone die on her without having a charger and she probably won't be the last.

Well, she's probably the first I've heard of to have it die on her, pull over and spend all these hours with a "friend," and NOT look under her dang on seat in the car in all those hours, but then JUST HAPPENS to find the charger while in a fog after a murder.

Do they expect us to believe that while Travis was doing whatever he was doing to the floor, she couldn't take the two seconds to go to the car and look under the seat for the charger that was there the whole time? She had to wait till she was a foggy mess after the murder? Seriously?

I know if I can come back with these rebuttals this quickly, the jury can't be buying it.

I hope this case at the very least raises the bar for ARIZONA's LE on "technological forensics". There was virtually no evidence brought forward here on this case. JA is lucky beyond belief. She got a little scared when JM was implying that perhaps they knew when things were deleted but alas, they hadn't a clue.

BBM - not exactly defending Nurmi here but I believe he was making a point of that statement above - even he doesn't like her, but he is still working within the law. The suggestion being the jury should do the same.

On the other hand, if he really meant it as he really doesn't like her 9 out of 10 days with no implied meaning, I think he deserves a hand for letting the jury and the rest of us know how he feels defending this killer.

I just have to question whether it's wise to tell a room full of people that you don't like an abused victim of DV with PTSD. Isn't that kind of like more abuse? How come she didn't cry about that? You'd think a person suffering from years of verbal and physical abuse wouldn't find that funny at all,especially from the one person whom you are now trusting with your life. You'd think that would devastate a person who was truly abused. Just another DT blunder IMO.

I guess it's not politically correct to state this but really, this woman had been living on her own since she was 18 and at age 28, she had all of $750.00 to her name? Geez...Talk about NOT taking responsibility for herself as an "adult"!

I have always been on the fence in regards to the DP, but in the case of AZ vs Arias, I would have no problem voting for the DP. I'm not quite sure what sets this case apart from so many others, for me. I think I would feel differently if I knew that LWOP carried the same standards as death row. 22 hours in a solitary small cell each day, limited visitation and phone calls (compared to general pop). I don't want her having a good time in prison -and we all know she will as long as she has access to other people to manipulate. It's what she thrives on. I want her to be all alone. :twocents:

Most of my life I have been VERY VERY pro death penalty. But I started to entertain the idea of being against it. Not for inhumane reasons @.@ but because I felt it was such an easy way out. However, the problem I have with LWOP is that inmates these days have it TOO EASY. Ok, fine, they don't have the same freedoms of you and me like being able to go for a drive or go anywhere I want....but they have WAY TOO MANY privileges!! She is able to make and sell art, communicate via her croanies using modern technology, have girl time w/ the other low life inmates, have a snack shop and go shopping and who the hell knows what else is allowed wherever she would end up.

THAT is why I want her DEAD. She will adapt to prison life and have a grand ol time...and that is 10000000% unacceptable to me and to Travis! NO person who slaughters an innocent human being should ever have any nicey nicey privileges other than bread and water, an outfit and a blanket - and well we know that isn't how it is.
