[Curious Me]

Im convinced the jury will do the right thing with a guilty verdict of 1st degree felony murder.

The only concern I have is during appeals. I truly wonder if Nurmi was purposely going for ineffective counsel. It was beyond ridiculous how awful he was. And even claiming that 9 days out of 10 he doesnt like Jodi either.

His defense was awful and this worries me for appeal based on ineffective counsel.

Hopefully any appeals will be denied.

On HLN's After Dark, Linda Kinney-Baden was going to say why she thinks Nurmi did drop in a future appeal issue, but then was urged to save in for later in the program.

How does LK-B get younger looking with each trial and I keep looking older?

I guess it's not politically correct to state this but really, this woman had been living on her own since she was 18 and at age 28, she had all of $750.00 to her name? Geez...Talk about NOT taking responsibility for herself as an "adult"!

Sorry if I offend someone who has found him/herself in a bad situation but I don't think I've had that little money since I started working part-time.

Hey everyone has times where they fall on hard times but lets just add the fact that she WAS LIVING WITH GRANDMA & GRANDPA at 28 and that was her bank balance while working.. Just saying didn't look like she was stash'n cash to move out anytime soon..

Just surfed past HLN on the tube as I was going thru the channels.
It's disgusting.
Front of the courthouse area ... all lit up like Christmas. People milling around, panel of 6-8 talking heads holding court.

I know this trial has drawn national/international attention - but HLN is over the line. IMO
HLN turns these trials into a circus.
Sensationalism for $$$$$.

I pray the jury and families are escorted into a back entrance.
One of these days these idiots are gonna be the cause of a mistrial.

When the jury has deliberated, will we have access to the information that has been "suppressed" in the interests of the Defendant's rights? If so, I have SSSSOOOO many questions and can't wait for a thread that addresses these issues!

Nurmi wants us to believe that Jodi did not plan to drive to Mesa to kill Travis.

The DT/Jodi are going down like the Titanic.

Extra gas?- check
Motive? - check
Alibi? - check

Nurmi did not prove to me beyond a reasonable doubt that Travis abused Jodi. There is no evidence of that anywhere except Jodi's words which is all lies.

The lies alone is M1, then add a dash a premeditation and overkill, that's M1 - Felony with the worst sentence available in the good state of AZ.

Had Martinez not already put a female on DR in Arizona I might be concerned. Juries, for the most part, are hesitant to put on female on DR.
I also feel good about it because in the case of Scott Peterson, he was put on DR, with circumstantial evidence alone. In the Arias case, we have more tangible proof, AND a confession.

I watched the verdict live after being invested in the entire trial. So I know where you're coming from.

I find this trial to be qualitatively different, the evidence overwhelming, a huge difference. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

The other jury was an aberration, IMO. Why suspend our common sense and experience and gut feelings now?

Well, my husband always said CA was going to get off. But he keeps yelling at me "Haven't they convicted her yet?" Maybe I should not put yelling in a typed sentence ALV will take this the wrong way. I for sure will never go to see her speak at any conference even if they offer ceu's.

KN says Jodi isnt the first person to have a phone die on her without having a charger and she probably won't be the last.

Well, she's probably the first I've heard of to have it die on her, pull over and spend all these hours with a "friend," and NOT look under her dang on seat in the car in all those hours, but then JUST HAPPENS to find the charger while in a fog after a murder.

Do they expect us to believe that while Travis was doing whatever he was doing to the floor, she couldn't take the two seconds to go to the car and look under the seat for the charger that was there the whole time? She had to wait till she was a foggy mess after the murder? Seriously?

I know if I can come back with these rebuttals this quickly, the jury can't be buying it.

Just an FYI. If anyone tweets to JA, make sure your antivirus protection is up to date and run it. Often. I tweeted a rather special message to her several days ago. It might be totally a coincidence, but the next day, I was getting warnings from my excellent antivirus program that I was hitting viruses left and right. I was only on one website for days. And that site is clean..... I'm not paranoid. But I'm not stupid, either She has friends dontcha know! LOLOL

I want to watch court on TV like the good old days. Before HLN and before IN Session. I actually kind of liked it better without the TH.

Yep. Exactly. I've been through hard times too...But really, this woman had NOTHING except for her expensive camera. She didn't even have the funds to move back home. AND she FELT ENTITLED to go on a vacation/road trip? With whose money? The only money she had is the money she deposited in Monterey? We're not privy to how she got it (I guess because it might be too "prejudicial")...Give me a break! I had more money than that when I was a part time employee studying...

Even if she went through the motions of returning it, minus the receipt, they would still have record of the return. The jury heard her say she returned it @ THAT WALMART. Nurmi neglected to check his facts and I am sure the jury did not appreciate that oversight.

OMG. He had the nerve to say Jodi didn't say which Walmart. Then why didn't he get up and cross examine the walmart person and ask that? Trying to be lying and sneaky, hoping the jury will forget.

This is NOT the CA case. It's over. Nothing I can do about it. It's over. It's almost like "some" have an Alyce type PTSD over that ONE case. raying:

Since then, thousands upon thousands of cases have been tried and adjudicated in our Great Country.

THIS case is about what Jodi did to Travis. Amen. :truce:

The ONLY reason CA was brought up was because this is the first case I have watched since. No PTSD here. I learned a lot from that case. I learned that 99% of us on that thread thought it was a slam dunk for SOME charge. That case taught everyone a little something about our judicial system. I've watched this trial since January, make no mistake about it, I know exactly who this trial is about. Amen.

She is likely going to say Nurmi threw Jodi a bone by saying that and creating an appeal issue, that her lawyer was at best ineffective by relaying to the jury that he does not believe in her innocence, that indeed he does not even like , trust or respect her, nine days out of ten. He is supposed to be presenting the opposite!
Regarding her Hope In A Jar, yes, she likely has had work done. She is a very wealthy woman, she appears to me to have had liposuction and plastic surgery and updated her hairstyle since the Casey Anthony case. ( Not that there is anything wrong with it. She is not growing old naturally, she is getting better with age, with a little help. imo )
