My mom said that can be grounds for an appeal, because she said that your attorney is supposed to be in your corner. Apparently Nurmi left the corner, and LEFT the BUILDING as well.

I have no idea, but someone said earlier that because
Juan objected and the statement was stricken, that it could not be used
in the future for appeal. Juan knew what Nurmi was up to.

OK HLN is funny they are giving participants KY and pop rocks and "tools".

A woman also has a baby chihuahua pup she named Juan Martinez...
He is soooo cute!

Bad taste or just Friday night fun for those that have followed the case?
I am on the comic relief side.

Seems so wrong.
Travis was slaughtered for this carnival to happen.

Did anyone hear JVM comment on that sex call being played in court room? As if she does not have that same call on her show EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!!!!

With Nurmi changing the defense to a "crime of passion" at the last minute there is no chance, in my opinion of an acquittal. The question would be what is the guilty verdict for - manslaughter, 2nd degree murder or 1st degree murder?

MOO

ok this is what i do not get AT ALL!! nurmi knows what jodi's testimony was - that she returned it to the same wal mart right after she bought it - and if i was a betting person, i would bet it was jodi's idea to say it was another wal mart - but why would nurmi do this???? he knew it wasn't her testimony - and that he was telling a lie - and if you listen back, he even stutters when he said it - ............. why would he do that!! he still has a career and isn't it illegal or unethical, or could have some kind of repercussions for doing this???? - does he just not care and want the heck out of this trial???

I think she worked circles of friends...
Always attaching to a guy that the previous one knew.

I also think that she found out about Travis MONTHS
prior to meeting him.
I think she set out to "hook up" with him.

Then on to Ryan, affiliated with PPL, like Travis.

Arias said she was lost because it's an alibi that doesn't depend on anyone else and paints her as 'ditzy'. Win win.

I find Nurmi's pleas to Arias' supposed intelligence quite amusing. 'If she was so smart, why did she do it this way?' First of all, they said her IQ was 112? That's not particularly high. At all. Also, intelligence ≠criminal sophistication. Moreover, all of those 'opportunities' Arias had to kill Travis: as much as she might share sociopathic traits, killing a person is still an undertaking. She may have been saddled with hesitation, doubt, and whatever else.

I hate to give her a compliment, but she really did almost everything right to get away with murder. Like JM said, "Thank God we had the deleted photos" I sort of think it was well-planned out... and I hate to say that...

Sooo, is anyone nervous? I am so not nervous that I am nervous (does that make sense)?

I for one am glad that the Jury will start back on Monday. Let them think about Juan's truth and Nurmi's BS....ALL weekend. I don't think it will take long come Monday.

They are giving out strawberry frappachinos on HLN, the show is comical.

Yeah, I was thinking that when they dismissed the 2 alternates. Maybe they decided on a foreman and took a quick vote to see where everyone was leaning because they could not discuss it.

NO jurors were dismissed

THREE jurors were picked as alternates. Juror 10, 17 and 15

If a juror is dismissed they are no longer on the jury.
If a juror is an alternate, they are not dismissed. They are just not deliberating with the other 12 jurors but if for some reason one of those twelve are dismissed then they will be replaced with an alternate.

Dismissed and alternate have totally different meanings when referring to a juror!

I am just thankful that JA left so much evidence behind and eventually admitted to killing him. Otherwise, the roommates would have been torn to shreds as suspects. I'm not bashing them, it's just one of those things that you sit back and think about.

Even before the evidence was processed, Travis' friends named her as a suspect. I don't believe the roommates would have been even persons of interest...and they had no motive. JA did. Revenge.

I busted out laughing at that part. Classic. Poor ALV, JM clearly despises that woman to pieces too.

IMO-Juan Martinez doesn't like liars. ALV lied on her CV and lied on the stand. For Juan to be able to call her that in a court of law, something had to have happened behind the scenes. Nurmi didn't even object.

I hate liars! There are many things I put up with in life, but if someone lies to me, all bets are off. JMO

When Jodi was arrested, I would guess that she probably had a net worth somewhere between -$20,000 to -$50,000. She owed money to her parents, her grandparents, Travis, Darryl, and no telling who else. Her mother said that she charged her $3,000 mortgage payments to her credit card. This must be counting paying for food, electricity, and other things because I think Darryl said the total mortgage payment was $2800. Her mother said that she had declared bankruptcy before. She sure was the businesswoman.

Einstein, she's not! The decision to buy the house with Darryl as an investment", i.e. 'flipping' was not too smart, considering he did not even have a job at the time - they had to use her credit. When they went into foreclosure, she had used up her #10K in savings and started using credit cards to pay the mortgage thinking, as her father said, that she could 'dig her way out'! Who in the heck was advising her??? Of course, she wouldn't listen to anyone who tried to pound some sense into her head.

Nearly homeless, she finds out about PPL - a multi-level marketing scheme. She takes off for Las Vegas, meets Travis, and starts her next adventure. She quickly learns that PPL is not going to pay the bills for her and she decides she is going to be Mrs. Travis Alexander - by hook or by crook.

She pawns herself off as a 'photographer' in order to give herself respectability and starts mining for gold in the Mormon community. She wastes no time in telling Travis she wanted to convert to Mormonism - he sent the missionaries to Palm Desert to prepare her. She gets baptized while still living with DB and sneaking off to motels with Travis.

The next chapter should be titled: Evil visits the Mormon community - and Travis Alexander.

There are no words to describe what this monster did to Travis - a man who had such compassion for friends and strangers. Tonight on Dr. D., Chris Hughes related an awe-inspiring story about a night when Travis spotted a homeless guy on the street, stopped his car, took the guy home where he showered and fed him, and then found him a job at a local restaurant! (He would have been a great character witness for Travis).

Jodi Arias is the worst of the worst! Travis wouldn't harm a fly! He treated all of his g/f's like queens - generous to a fault. JA conned him into thinking she was going to commit suicide if he left her. He told Chris Hughes he couldn't bear to have that on his conscience!!!

What JA has done to Travis in this trial is nearly as bad as what she did to him in his shower. Juan took this murder personally - he knows the evil that lurks in this monster's soul-less body. She will get the DP....and I hope she rots in h*ll!!!!

Did anyone hear JVM comment on that sex call being played in court room? As if she does not have that same call on her show EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!!!!

Nurmi playing the sex call- the edited one, mind you- was a big mistake. It showed his total lack of finesse/class as well, although I'm not surprised considering he defends sex offenders for a living. For all the TH who said his closing was sincere or compelling or whatever.... :help:

I am watching right along with you. I missed the last part of JM final address of the jury as I had to take the kids to the circus. Watching HLN hoping to catch a clip or two. Hanging with it just to see how the Walmart " experiment" turns out. Cuz yeah. That's worth staying awake for.

Still and all, I've already seen clowns tonight, might as well watch a few on TV as well.:floorlaugh:

Strawberry frapps all around!!!
