I really need to stop yelling @ people on HLN, gonna lose my voice.

SERIOUSLY!!! Stop it! Mute it! I am not joking. I have to see a speech pathologist and get a video scope of my vocal cords on Monday a.m. Part of the problem is overuse, but screaming at the T.V. ( and sports events) probably contributed to this "losing " my voice phenomenon. And I don't even watch HLN!

It's not worth it...those talking heads and uninformed opinions will drive you to drink, and then the reflux may get your larynx. It's just a no win situation. :scared:

I'm glad someone mentioned it here, I nearly lost my mind when I saw the close up pic. What the... I could not believe nurmi was trying to pass that off as part of "the rope". His whole argument was insulting, but that caused me shut it off until Juan was back for the rebuttal.

I wonder what fellow lawyers think of the defense attorneys...not in the fact that .they had little to go on that was not a lie by their client, but the way they, the defense lawyers manipulated wording by witnesses, not repeating the correct information, like the gun caliber...and the above with the rope/ tassel thing.

Of course we will never know, but as a lawyer be as correct as possible, make honest mistakes and tell the truth, don't stretch the truth either.
JMO...sorry I got in a rant...:blushing:

Medical Examiner.

This guy insisted on something he really didn't know and stuck to it creating a real area for disagreement among the jurors.

Shot could have come first and probably did. Lots of people walk a round after a shot in the front of the head. Much harder to picture knife as a first attack. Jury can disagree over that.

It's 1st degree either way - but that ME was not so good. Even cost Flores some credibility.

If this don't come back murder 1 it will be that guy's fault.

LOL
HLN is serving strawberry frappacino's to their jury..
something Jodi won't be tasting anymore.

Someone on the last thread was watching the movie
12 Angry Men

Great Movie!

Imagine if Henry Fonda was on this Jury ??
Oh wait...
Henry was....

Jurer #8 !

Adam's Rib is another Great movie
with Katherine & Spencer

Thanks. I agree. But if the trip was going as the defense would have us believe, then she could have located her phone charger, charged the phone and called Ryan with a BS story about being late. You don't just be late to visit a guy you are interested in and leave him out of the loop for 25 hours. Not unless you're murdering Jodi. She could have gone to the car and did this within 10 minutes without Travis knowing what she was doing. She could have contacted Ryan on an IM with her laptop with a late excuse. Had Jodi innocently been a Travis' house, there should be no reason her phones and laptop can't be recorded as being there.

I really hope the jury thinks about that, about the REAL reason she didn't make up a lie to Ryan.
Agree and the excuse she gave Ryan was quite lame. How does one get "lost" on a direct route from So. Calif. to Utah?

:waitasec:

I wonder if JM can show them to the jury. I would LOVE that! She has zero respect and disgusts me on so many levels.

Why couldn't that be raised in the penalty phase? The funny thing is she doesn't read them, others tweet their disgust back to her and she doesn't see any of it, whoever is running that twitter acct is probably laughing her head off at the reaction she's been getting.

What JA (and her twitter puppet) need is to be completely ignored. There's nothing more frightening to a psychopath like JA than being ignored.

Those tweets of JA are sickening Holding a prayer group on Sunday, sounds like another dig to Travis' s family. I hope she rots in he**.

Evening everyone.
I just came on so not sure if this has been mentioned yet...Jane on HLN said a few moments ago that maybe JA told Travis about all the sex tapes and that is why he sent her the messages about her being the worst thing that ever happened to him. Makes a lot of sense imho.

I think she threatened to blackmail him with the sex tapes. Release them to his company and church. Maybe toss in the pedophilia.

It is my understanding the roommates hadn't lived with Travis very long, were not that close to Travis in as far as Travis communicating his schedule with them and it was an assumption that he was gone somewhere. I also recall someone stating Napoleon would sometimes soil the house so the odor was assumed to be that. The location of the shower being far from where the roommates were also contributed to no one noticing the odor for a while, along with the roommates coming and going from the house a lot.

MOO
Remember one worked at a fish market and came home "fishy" so...
Was it you and I that were discussing the tassel from the pillow during closings today? I can't remember. Since we have a few days, I can try to find the conversation with Flores, when Jodi mentioned the pillow w/the tassel on Travis's chair in the bedroom.

If I have the wrong WS member, please ignore me. :floorlaugh:

No prob. I don't think it was me...
I might have a brain fog though!

Absolutely and vehemently disagree. :)

and i noticed Jodi was all smiles when he said he didn't like her 9 out of 10 days..

I was reading up on precisely what Ineffective Assistance Of Counsel is and I am going to copy and paste some funny ones.

"Although defense counsel slept during portions of the trial, counsel provided defendant meaningful representation.”

"Proof of a defense counsel’s use of narcotics during trial does not amount to a per se violation of constitutional right to effective counsel.”

"Murder defendant was not deprived of effective assistance of counsel, though counsel was alcoholic.”

These above fell under the NOT INCOMPETENT ENOUGH TO REQUIRE REVERSAL category.

My mom said that can be grounds for an appeal, because she said that your attorney is supposed to be in your corner. Apparently Nurmi left the corner, and LEFT the BUILDING as well.

Nope, Geragos did the same thing in the Scott Petersen case.

I thought Mr. Martinez had asked the judge for a court order to stop arias from tweeting.

He did but the judge said it was outside of her jurisdiction (or similar you get the idea). She told JM it was up to the Sheriff of MC.

Was watching Jodi carefully during Nurmis closing. She looked a little worried at times, but overall she seems to still have hope she will get a not guilty verdict or manslaughter. The question I have is Why in the world could she think this?

I mean seriously even when I try to look at it from her position I cannot see how she can possibly have any hope. She seems to have hope and it is driving me crazy because is she that stupid to think that the jury may believe their defense.

Remember too all the jury questions. Most all of them hinted towards them not believing the defense.

I dont get her optimism at all. I am flabergasted.

Agreed and not only that, she tried to insert herself into the investigation very early on - that is a red flag to any detective. JA is not nearly as intelligent as she thinks she is.

Definitely not anywhere near a genius!!! Agree, huge red flag when she inserted herself into the investigation.

With Nurmi changing the defense to a "crime of passion" at the last minute there is no chance, in my opinion of an acquittal. The question would be what is the guilty verdict for - manslaughter, 2nd degree murder or 1st degree murder?

MOO
I would not call it a crime of passion. I'd call it a "hate" crime.
I forgot about the feline family members I reside with. When Donovan moves out eventually, Cleo and Midnight can kill rodents if they decide to invade my house.
Yorkies are good little rodent hunters too! Mine found more than the cat!
