For the record, I don't believe Jodi's defense has been valid ever. I think she learned a lot during her incarceration. I think they twisted the evidence to fit her newly found courage (sarcasm on) to admit the DV etc. but it was only a way to explain her previous lies. But you never know with jurors. I also said on interview that we. Oils have a verdict today, as it's possible they made their minds up weeks ago, since they looked bored with Dr G in his last appearance.

Got a J for T ribbon today that Tanisha made.

Does anyone remember how long the first jury deliberated before declaring a hung jury.

They began deliberations on Tuesday afternoon and reported they were deadlocked in late morning Wednesday. JSS sent them back to try again, and they reported they were hopelessly deadlocked on Thursday afternoon. Jury foreman Zervakos noted in an interview that the final number for DP (8) was bigger than when they began deliberations. I bet he didn't want to risk being the lone holdout if deliberations continued, so he abruptly called on JSS to save him.

I'm too spent to research this, and hoping someone else has this info bookmarked perhaps???? When, as in day and time, did the last jury start deliberations? Then when did that first question come in? And day and time wise when did they come back with their no verdict verdict.

At one time I had bookmarked a great page that had every trial day listed by date (ex. March 2), day of trial (ex. day 24) and a brief description (ex: cross exam of Jodi Arias by Juan Martinez). It was SUPER helpful, but of course now I can't find it.

Please say yes, I want to hear how some jurors have formed a group, and how one guy was walking quickly with his arms crossed .. which means way way more than just the simple fact that some wanted to go to the same cafe, and the arms crossed guy is just feeling self protective because of all the media's eyes on him as he walks past

Ziggy my response to you from the other thread: Have to politely disagree Ziggy. What was different about this relationship was that Travis was a bigger fish for Jodi to hook, so she escalated her stalking and violence. The DV was all on the part of Jodi, not Travis. No evidence of broken finger, she probably sliced her ligaments when she stabbed him.

Unfortunately I think the decision will rest on whether the jury wants to actually research the allegations or just take KN's word for it that this middle-aged mentally ill "girl" was truly sorry that she couldn't do that whole day over again.. :/

I have it too and getting the shot on Friday. Ugh! She deserves it in both feet!

Okay, so is the jury actually deliberating already or do they start at 9:00 am tomorrow. Did they basically use this time to go over the deliberations rules and instructions?

The only thing I feel certain of is that the jury will not unanimously agree on LWOP. I, like some others said, think it will be either DP or hung. My hope is they will make the decision for DP, rather than turning it over to JSS to decide.

OK. Nurmi may have given a juror who doesn't want to give the DP something to grasp at, but I think he also gave the other 11 jurors powerful reasons to convince them she not only lacks remorse but feels justified in murdering Travis.

Agreed! There will more than likely be one, or more, who may truly feel Nurmi gave them something and in their minds, they will honestly feel there was something "noteworthy" to cause them hesitation.

There will, however, also be one, or more, who will immediately throw out the photo of Travis' gaping neck wound, or the photo of his horrific back injuries, or any/all other evidence to remind the group of the premeditation or to challenge their thought process.

And then it remains - who digs their feet in and refuses to budge? Who, if any, will concede? Do they hang? Do they come together as a team with a unanimous vote?

Time will tell.

Interesting dynamics, always, with a jury.

BBM. I was on a jury (not a murder trial) where two of the jurors voted not guilty, the remainder guilty. This was over 20 years ago and I still remember exactly who the "not guiltys" were. And older man, Jehovah's Witness and retired school teacher. And an older woman, homemaker type, also retirement age. And yes, one of them, the older woman, indicated nothing would change her mind, period. She refused to deliberate, she had made up her mind, and that was that. Game over.

I am really worried about that happening here.
