Unfortunately, I can not answer some of those questions for you cause it is part of the investigation. I am sorry. Maureen did not have a computer. So for the Norwich Police department to say they went down to NYC and got her lap top is wrong they did not even really investigate her missing.Sad to say but it is so true. In the matter of how she posted I can't say too much about that but she posted before she left CT to go to Ny that weekend. Other than that I can not say much about it. It took them 2 1/2 years to put here in Namus. Maureen only had one cell phone. The first few times I called her it would ring and ring than go to voice mail where we could leave messages. Within a week her voice-mail got filled up by us calling and leaving messages. Than it would ring and than say voice mail is full good bye. Than shortly after that it got turned off and it would not ring.

MELTRUTH, Sorry if this has been asked before (I'm new to this site and case and still learning how to post properly)........when you initially thought your sister missing, and family and friends were calling her phone and leaving messages, were you ever told which tower her phone was pinging from in those first days as it seems if it rang a few times then went to voicemail it would still be turned on??

I agree. If she was staying up around 46th St but then went to the Madison Square Garden area, where Penn Station is,
than most likely she went on the LIRR to Long Island. From there she probably thought she could catch the ferry to Bridgeport
and then up 95 back to Norwich.

I find it a little hard to believe that these call girls would fall for being promised a lot of money from a client and being enticed that
way. I think that it was more likely that she saw a convenient appointment on her way back to CT.

This is total speculation but I think these girls know that johns aren't going to pay CL girls more than escorts who have their own websites
with extensive background checks, etc.

One thing about maureens case that doesnt seemed to get talked about much, but does reveal another layer of insulation as to who the killer might be, is the guy named VIPS in lost girls.. apparently this was the guy maureen had been paying to post adds for her and he was an associate of Tony, a producer of *advertiser censored* movies and another guy named Al, who was a big italian guy that bragged about being connected to the mafia..

Now According to kolkers book, it was the first weekend maureen and sara decided to work on their own, without VIPS, that maureen vanished. All the gb4, with the exception of AC, were having falling outs with their handlers just prior to going missing. Once they decided to work for themselves without the permission of some street hustling pimp, is when they vanished.

The question i have is who is Tony and Al and were they questioned by anyone? Odds are any italians making *advertiser censored* in NYC arent doing it on their own. The five mafia familes have been in the *advertiser censored* making/prostitution rackett for years and these guys had to be associates at least. Maybe not made guys, but just another layer of insulation between the deaths of the Gb4 and who this killer might be.

Yes, I realize this is really old info but there's a combination of things that keep me looking at people and their connections that are current today.

Wow. I agree, these connections are worth looking into. One of my close family members was the superintendent of that exact same building on 75 spring st during the 70s and 80s.. hes dead now due to Suicide a few years ago. When i was a kid in the 90s i remember overhearing stories he would tell about kuklinski, demeo and a famous artist who worked in that building.. bizarre stuff that turned out to be true in kuklinskis book. I was born in 83, so i was to young to process alot of this info, but im going to try to find more out more through older family.

Thanks for the comment.. Yea its bizarre. Nobody seemed to believe his stories until they eventually came out in books and movies during his later years. whatever life he associated with caught up to him psychologically and he became old and miserable. thats when he took his life. Its karma for being associated with evil IMO. I have no sympathy for those who willingly partake in organized crime and public corruption to undermine justice and we the people who make up the free and civil society.

The latter information would be revealed to Maureen's family in 2008.

Could the killer have used Maureen's phone to make a “Star 67 (*67)” call to Sara Karnes?

Very good points. I wonder if the killer used Maureens phone to call Sara? Her sister Melissa would know. She had access to her phone bill. Queens? Former NYPD Commander believes case in 100 pct, Rockaway Queens is related to the Manorville Butcher. I wonder what case that is?This killer zoomed in on girls who had no protection. Or was able to seperate them from those who was suppose to protect them.

To my knowledge, no. The standard answer that I have repeatedly found is that a cell phone can ping a tower up to 45 miles away, but that depending on the network or provider, some cell phones have a distance cap regulated to towers up to 22 miles away for reliability purposes. Which means that the phone didn't necessarily have to be on Fire Island when that ping was registered. It could very well have come from the mainland, or from within a distance close enough to register off of that water tower Sprint antenna.
