Any way to verify her statements? Because, if they are true, that would be big, imo.

(I can't do all the hard work)
Apologies if this has been brought up before, but one piece of information (or lack thereof) about Barthelemy's case has me puzzled. Bear with me.
MBB is last seen in her room at the Super 8 Hotel in midtown Manhattan. She's last heard from, however, in Penn Station.
MW is last seen leaving the Holiday Inn Express in Hauppauge, NY.
ALC is asked to meet up with a john at the same Holiday Inn Express as MW, but refuses. Instead, she is last seen leaving her North Babylon home.
The way I see it, the three girls mentioned above have a tangible connection to their eventual fate on Gilgo Beach - they're all already on, or heading to (via the Long Island Railroad, in MBB's case) Long Island.
MB doesn't fit. She's last seen leaving her apartment in the Bronx. There's no record of her at all having so much as set foot on Long Island. The only connection she has to the island - other than her resting place at Gilgo Beach - is a call from her cell phone made in Massapequa well after her death.
I don't know why this sticks out like a sore thumb, but it does. If anything, I suppose it's just frustrating. Is there ANY idea as to whether MB was ever alive on Long Island?
Based on this April 2011 article it appears likely that MB was headed to LI.
*(Also, since reading this info again, I'm wondering if Mr. Kolker has any additional info re: "this older man she was chummy with"?)
"Earlier that evening, the blond beauty told her boyfriend that she might be going to Long Island, a frequent haunt of hers. She regularly hung out there with a girlfriend who also worked as an online escort, as well as at the home of a regular client. Her boyfriend said he would oftentimes pick her up from the john's house.
"She would go to Long Island a lot," said her boyfriend Johnny Terry, who spoke exclusively with The Daily Beast. "She had some older man she was chummy with.""

Excellent. So is there any evidence at all that MB was seeing the john with whom she was "chummy?"
I'm assuming (read: hoping) that LE has checked with MB's boyfriend as to the house from which he might have retrieved her...

Here's the last part of the article...
"Months later, Terry said, he was approached by the police again, but this time not as a suspect. They wanted to know about the john on Long Island. They asked if he could describe the house and if he could pick it out if he was taken there. He said he could.
"They already knew about the guy in Long Island," he said. "I said if they come to get me I would go. They didn't come.""

BBM
Wait...you're saying the train Maureen was on would have made a scheduled stop in Long Island?
Apologies for reading only your posted excerpts from the article. I should've followed the link and read the entire article.
That said, ugh - well done, SCPD. Well done, indeed...
MBB's last known contact with anyone consisted of a phone call to her sister. We know that during that call, MBB stated that she was at Penn Station.
That leaves us with several possibilities:
1. MBB was just hanging out at Penn Station.
2. MBB was planning on using MTA service - either subway or bus - to get around New York City.
3. MBB was planning on taking a New Jersey Transit train.
4. MBB was planning on taking an Amtrak train.
5. MBB was planning on taking a Long Island Railroad train.
(Native New Yorkers feel free to add anything I might've missed. I used to frequent the station quite a lot from 2006-2008, but I haven't been back in ages.)
Obviously, there are lots of possibilities as to where MBB might have been headed. I'm simply trying to connect her to the Hauppauge Holiday Inn Express - the only place that's already been established to have been connected to not one, but two victims.
If I was investigating the case, I would be interested in obtaining security footage from both the Brentwood and Central Islip stations on July 9/10, 2007. If MBB shows up in either, then the Hauppauge area immediately becomes ground zero for where the killings actually occurred.
Unfortunately, my guess is that that footage - like the Oak Beach tapes - is long gone.
Babylon is known by local LE as a station where many "club & pvt" workers disembark & then take cabs to their destination (many adult clubs within miles of the station draws workers from out of the area) or otherwise picked up.
Maureen was last seen at the Port Authority not Penn Station.

Just had this thought:
Thinking of what WS member Hawkshaw has been telling us for a long time about J. Burke etc, and that lots of what Hawkshaw has been telling us now is verified in the news.
What if the "chummy guy" whom Melissa had as a regular klient, that the SCPD "already knew about"
was one of thir own?, somone within the SCPD?
I believe that information is outdated. That Robert Kolker story was published on May 29, 2011. However, his more recent book about the killings Lost Girls: An Unsolved American Mystery (published in July of 2013) states that Maureen's last known contact with anyone consisted of a phone call to her sister from Penn Station. Perhaps he wasn't aware of that call by the time he wrote the original New York article.
I highly recommend Kolker's book, by the way. It transcends true crime.
