mugshots^^ (or at least pictures they showed at the presser of the two)

Major Ed Ledo said at the press conference held at the Comfort Inn that the cause of death was strangulation. The charges the Prues face are second degree murder and improper disposal of a body, Ledo said. They will face arraignment at 11 a.m. today at the Caledonia Superior Court courthouse. Details from the hearing will be available through The Caledonian-Record later.

Ledo said the couple knew Jenkins and that Allen Prue had plowed Jenkins driveway in the past. He said police would continue investigating the home located on Old County Road in Waterford. He also said police want the public to continue providing any information that could help in the investigation and pending prosecution.

well... it will be interesting to see if there are any reporters that will actually do some journalism and dig into the backgrounds of these two...

one report stated that "they" were one hour late for his newspaper shift. so she accompanied him to work?

what if...it was her? she was jealous. lured her out there with the "can't change a tire" excuse, ordered allen to strangle her, then went with him to work b/c she was paranoid he'd fess up?

her "medical condition" at the scene of the arrest was to feign innocence?

could easily be the other way around but...idk...

If the woman had come to her house asking for help with car trouble, I bet she'd be a lot more willing to leave her home at night to go help.

A lot of us just don't see a woman as dangerous, but there have been several cases of women who act as a lure for their partner.

I wonder what time his route starts on Sunday night for the paper??? Didn't that one article say that they were an hour late???? We also still haven't heard who the "friend" was and why she was concerned when she didn't hear from Melissa at 8:30... where did Melissa have plans? Pretty late with a baby and also school the next day?

So many questions....

Maybe she had plans to call her or she was already talking to her at the time she decided to go help whoever it was that was in "trouble" and told her she'd call when she got back. When she never called back, she got worried, and went looking for her.

If that friend hadn't known and didn't go looking for her, that poor baby might not have survived.

I actually think that Melissa ran into them on her way out to see her friend (remember the times LE gave: 7:30-11:30)... the friend didn't hear from her at 8:30 than said she was "missing for two hours" so around 10:30 the friend goes out to check on her and at 11 find the car running with the baby inside.. most likely she also went back up to the house to see if Melissa was there and calls 911 at 11:30.

So why would these <unusual people> be driving on her road at 7:30 at night? There was a sign of struggle near the car as well per LE which to me indicates blood or dropped items, etc... I am betting they did more than just strangle her... :moo:

Would it be second-degree if they had some sort of argument that led to a physical altercation? But what they would argue about that would not include an attempt at robbery of some sort is hard to imagine...

What side of the road was her car parked on? Going towards her home or away from her home?

"She said Jenkins worked Saturday night and left a little early when her babysitter texted her that Ty was acting up."

"Sweeney said Monday afternoon that Melissa Jenkins left work Saturday at about 9:30 p.m. to retrieve her son."

so...she leaves work, goes to pick up her son...gets home and gets a call to 'come help'. her body was found at 11:30. not a whole lot of time in there...right?

Yes, I believe that'd be 2nd degree. There would have to be some sort of relationship for it to happen if there was no robbery attempt. Maybe she agreed to give them a ride to somewhere, but they wanted to go farther? But, I can't imagine killing someone over that. I have to wonder if the charges will be upgraded to 1st degree once more evidence is gathered?

I thought it was said she went "missing" at 8:30? :waitasec: So was she on her way home after picking up her son from the babysitter and that's when she was stopped by these two?

Who in the world would be that angry to murder a mom who had a 2 year old baby in the car? This is personal, imo. Something happened.

My :twocents: There was an alleged court hearing scheduled for today with two people with the same names as the accused. Could Melissa have been a potential witness in that case against one or the other? (IF that case was for these 2) I know far fetched but I just can't see why anyone would want to hurt someone like Melissa who by all accounts was a beloved, well liked teacher and mom to her baby boy.

What a senseless crime!!!
