GUILTY VT - Melissa Jenkins, 33, St Johnsbury, 25 March 2012

It's sounding like possibly another one of those cases where some cretin wants to hurt/kill a woman for his sexual jollies, and his female partner goes along with it for whatever unfathomable reason:

"Suspect in Vermont teacher's killing reportedly wanted to 'get a girl'"

http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2...chers-killing-reportedly-wanted-to-get-a-girl

Vermont police on Wednesday charged a couple with second degree murder in the death of teacher Melissa Jenkins, and court documents allege they pretended to have car trouble to lure her to a site where she was strangled.

Allen Prue, 30, told police he wanted to "get a girl" on Sunday night, the court documents state, noting that in the past he had asked victim Melissa Jenkins out.

Patricia Prue, 33, allegedly called Jenkins on Sunday night and told her they needed help.

As sick as it makes me when anything like this happens, it makes me even sicker when a woman plays a part in doing something like this to another woman. For what? To prove your "love" to a whey-faced loser? If my husband ever comes home and announces that he has a hankerin' for another woman, well, that's the day I walk out the door, period. But to help him kidnap and murder another woman? That I just cannot fathom, under any circumstances. Now, we've been married a long time, and to be honest, I might be tempted to cover up any number of crimes for him: tax evasion, perjury, etc. (Not saying I necessarily would, just that I might be tempted.) But help him plan and carry out something like this? I just don't get that--as much as I love my husband, the day he said he wanted to do something like this, my love would die immediately and I would get my sexual jollies by running to the police straight away. Not for a minute would it occur to me as the perfect way to cement our true, true love.

Not surprisingly, Prue's mother says "he didn't do it":

Following the Wednesday court appearance, Allen Prue's mother, Donna Prue, says her son has never been in trouble with the law before and she has faith he didn't commit the crime.

According to court documents, Jenkins received a call from the couple asking her for help. Jenkins had told someone Prue had made her “uncomfortable in the past.”

Heartbreaking part of above article:

The documents also say the pair allegedly strangled Jenkins in front of her two-year-old son. The documents also state the child demonstrated to authorities “what a man did to mommy.”

I really, really hope that last part isn't true.

The police affidavit said Allen Prue used to plow Melissa Jenkin’s driveway, and that he and his wife went out Sunday night, and while they were out, Allen “got the idea to get a girl.”

Caledonia County State’s Attorney Lisa Warren said, “It appears that this was sexually motivated.”

The affidavit does not state who specifically killed Jenkins, but suggests they both at one point choked her. Warren says there was an “effort by the both of them in strangling her.” Police state Jenkins body was thrown in a river after she was strangled.

The Prues called Jenkins Sunday night to say they needed help with their car because they were having car trouble on her road. The documents also say that in the past Allen Prue had asked Jenkins out.

OK, seriously...you're out with your husband, when suddenly he "gets the idea to get a girl" for sexual reasons? And you're all, "Hey, sounds like a great idea--how about that other woman you tried to get to go out with you?" WTF? How hard up do you have to be before you just blithely go along with such a plan?

Where else would this 'story' come from but one of them? I'm guessing maybe the 'wife' told all when she had her "medical crisis" during questioning.

That does not jive with pleading "not guilty" but they always do that even after a confession! What a JOKE!

Medical "crisis" that had her butt back in jail an hour later ---- no medical crisis there - sounds like someone started freaking out when they realized they were BUSTED!

Who was the babysitter ?

Is the dad really this little boys dad?

Did Melissa see this guy or was she some other time involved with him?

This case without the proper information leads to wild ideas and guesses ....

My prayers to Melissa and her baby and friends ...

This is the SAME article with "Allen Prue’s Mother: He didn’t commit crime" Ugh!

That poor baby! :(

Reading that made me tear up. How could anyone do that period, let alone in front of a child?! How heartbreaking.

Missed the presser and trying to catch up. Let me recap what LE says :: perps lured her out by saying they had car trouble near her road.

But, then I get confused. If LE says they both had a part in strangling her and they did it front of the 2 year old then>>How is this sexually motivated? Did they assault her in front of him too?

I'm also confused about the disposal of the body. It was mentioned upthread that LE found a patch of recently disturbed earth. But, now they are saying she was in the river?

:waitasec:

And, if phone records show the Prues phoning Melissa and that is what led LE to them then they truly are stupid criminals.

Very stupid but they look it don't they? We're also trying to figure out when & IF a sexual attack took place..Bad initial reporting re: where the body was actually found?

This is SO sickening!!!!!!!

UPDATE: Court documents say a VT snow plow driver and his wife lured a school teacher from her home by pretending their vehicle had broken down and they needed help, and then strangled her before throwing her body in a river. The only motive suggested in the court documents filed in the case against 30-year-old Allen Prue and his 33-year-old wife Patricia Prue, of Waterford, was that Allen Prue told police he wanted to "get a girl" on Sunday night. We will have more at 5, 5:30 and 6 on WCAX-TV.

So he tells his wife he wants to "get a girl", she goes along with him and helps, they lure Melissa with the car trouble ruse, then he strangles her in full view of her little son??!!

Evil, demented people!!

And his momma is still telling everyone what a good boy he is? She's messed up too!

We don't know who the babysitter (on the prior night) is.

Supposedly, he is the dad.

This guy supposedly asked her out but I'm sure nobody believes for one second she accepted.

I think we have ALL the correct info now since the court docs came out.

wait, if they disposed of her across state lines, can't new hampshire go after them as well?

Didn't they say that the Prue's home is a crime scene also?

Wasn't there at least one unsolved murder of a female in that area? Are there others? Makes a person wonder.

The relatives said Patricia Prue is a New York native who met her husband through an on-line dating service in 2008. Tinder said Patricia Prue only knew her husband’s extended family and friends and had no tie to Jenkins. Patricia Prue also has chronic health issues, including depression, diabetes, and panic attacks, Tinder said.

yeah. i'll give ya a 'panic attack'. :furious:

"Patricia Prue allegedly called Jenkins on Sunday night and told her they needed help.

The Prues were arrested early Wednesday. The documents show Jenkins' body was found in the Connecticut River, just over the state line in New Hampshire. It was weighted down with blocks and was partially covered by branches."

Thanks, white rabbit.

All of the Connecticut River is in New Hampshire. The west bank is the state line. Don't know how that may play into future charges.

I read a comment on WCAX's Facebook page that they had disposed of evidence in NH also.

Geeze louise. What a pathetic freaking reason to die. I mean really. Hang em and hang em high.

Momma and Sis think the whole thing is a set-up:

http://bostonglobe.com/metro/2012/0...sbury-crime/iEPMK3kF0f9OVkO8sFPL7N/story.html

Allen Prue’s mother, Donna Prue, and sister, Sharon Tinder, were on hand for the arraignment and insisted afterward that the couple is being wrongly accused of a monstrous crime.

“I want people out there to realize he is not the monster they are making him out to be,’’ said Donna Prue, who lives with the couple in Waterford.

“Neither one of them are,’’ added Tinder.

Tinder said the couple did plow for Jenkins, but they had not had any contact with Jenkins for the past several years. Mother and sister said Allen Prue did not even know Melissa Jenkins’s full name because she paid them in cash when the couple handled snowplowing duties.

Celina Cass? Let me go run and check, but her body was found in a river.....

But I wonder how they would have lured her outside. She was in her livingroom and supposedly going to sleep on her couch when she went missing. How would they lure an 11 yr old outside? Did they see her through the window and come inside? I think it was an unlocked door too.

Are momma & sister kidding me with this JUNK below? Messed up & MAJOR Denial!! :banghead:

The mother and sister both appealed to Vermont law enforcement to continue investigating so that the proper people are charged with murdering Jenkins.

“I wish I could do something to prove that they really didn’t do it,’’ Tinder said. “And I hope that the cops aren’t willing to give up and try to find more evidence that they really didn’t do it instead of wrongly accusing somebody.’’

Donna Prue added, “I think there are a lot of holes in this case and I think they really need to keep looking. … They are good people. … And I want them to have a fair deal in this. … They are being set up by somebody, I don’t know who.’’

Shades of Tina Clarke and Justin Adams....

Sigh.

My guess is they strangled her near the car to get control of her. Then, they brought her to their house where unthinkable things occurred and the kill strangulation happened. After that, they got rid of her body.

Her poor, poor son.
