The kids had two hours together in lockdown to go over their stories with each other. Obviously depending on who they were with in those two hours, their stories grew legs. At least one of them sounds like they had a reefer handy in their pocket. I mean no disrespect.
A bit of Chinese whispers trying to work out details they weren't sure of in that time. It is like asking a young teen to describe the plot of a TV show. If they forget bits they make them up.
I personally don't buy any conspiracy theories that this was faked/staged to push through gun laws in Washington State.
I am more dubious about the different versions of what the lunch lady/teacher did when she intervened. We have the students saying she made contact with the gunboy, and then we are told that (presumably security video was reviewed and) she didn't touch him:

Witnesses say social studies teacher, Megan Silberberger, ran up to Fryberg and grabbed his arms while he was reloading his weapon. It’s thought her brave act of heroism may have prevented a more deadly rampage.
Erick said that Ms Silberberger struggled with Fryberg for only a couple of seconds and then the gun went off, fatally injuring the gunman.

IMO He must have reloaded for there to have been a bullet for him. And there is no place in this timeline for him to go outside and fire more bullets.

Note also that they say in one video that he had fought with his cousin at football practice over Jayden's ex-girlfriend who he had just broken up with. How did the press turn that around and give it legs and make up a love triangle with Zoë FFS?!!! Unbelievable. Disrespectful. Sad.

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story, though.

(My biggest fear is that the teacher pointed the gun back at Jaylen's neck as the trigger went off, and these young teenagers have been sworn to secrecy. It's a picture I can't get out of my head.)

Shaylee's memorial service is very soon. Bless them, they must be exhausted with grief. I hope it somehow uplifts their spirits.

Incidentally, the girl at the table who wasn't shot was a relative via a common grandmother - I think she was meant to go too, poor darling. MOO
 
Thanks!! Yeah it definitely seems the stories are a bit muddled up. Especially the guy who says JF walked outside and shot outside. I'm thinking the lunch lady/teacher has gotten fairly close to him and he has shot himself, perhaps from a different angle and happening so quickly the kids thought they seen her touch him. I am curious to know if he just walked in and began shooting or was sitting at the table and an argument has broke out then stood up and began shooting. I also don't buy into the conspiracy theories.

14th October-Victim NH posts on Twitter "God damn Jay, he deserved it but we need you Bro!"
18th October-the ex SG posts photo of JF with the status "I love this guy. You're the s*** babe!"

20th October-JF posts on Twitter "Alright. You *advertiser censored**in got me.... That broke me"
21st October-JF posts on Twitter "It breaks me...It actually does...I know it seems like i'm sweating it off...But i'm not...and I never will be able to" he then posts again "I should have listened you were right...the whole time you were right" and again "If i just laid down..."
22nd October- the ex SG changes her profile picture to a photo of herself, Victim SC comments "Gorgeous", Victim ZG comments "Beautiful Shi", another Facebook Friend comments "His Loss. Love You"

So I'm guessing by photos posted on various Twitter accounts that Homecoming was the 19th??? This is definitely the breaking point. Amazing how much can change in 5 Days :(

I'm feeling like JF had 2 sides, a modern teen, sex crazed, popular, group of friends most of whom mention drug use on their social media accounts, then he had the cultural side where he was respectful and old school with a very cultured girlfriend who was right in with all his family who are leading members in their tribe. Perhaps the pressure was just too much and he was struggling to find the balance. I personally feel like this is something simple it could be that the night of homecoming his friends have told her about the fight at football training, flirting with another girl or maybe he experimented with drug use and the girlfriend has ended it as she appears to be quite clean cut and even rants on social media about her hatred for drugs. Because the friends have "ratted" him out, he has blamed them for the break up. I don't get the opinion about the love triangle or ZG being pregnant. ZG and AF seem very loved up.

I am of the opinion that SG may have partied with the friends, to Jaylen's distaste. I don't know how well diabetes and alcohol mix. On Twitter he alludes to substance abuse problems in her family and wanting better for her. She seems to accuse him of overprotectiveness, of being her Mom.

Did you notice JF's obsession with the show American Horror Story? He followed a whole stack of AHS feeds. I am sure this plot line is just a coincidence, but it is eerie nonetheless.

After the massacre, the "Wolverines Memorial Trust" was started in memory of the students.

I concur. In light of the fact that with the passage of time nothing more fleshed out has been revealed, in conjunction with the cloesnness of the tribe, I mianitain that this is a uncovered family secret - that was too painful for him to risk being found out by others in the tribe.

In light to the closeness of the whole community shooting family members just does work IMO. [modsnip]

It just does not work with the enitre picture that reamins today -- there is a big hole.............

There had been no news for so long - I was worried about the level of disability he would be facing, on top of the pain of losing Zöe. RIP Andrew, they gave it their all to try and keep you here.

Family's statement, released via Harborview:

"We express our thanks for the amazing support from the community, as well as from everyone around the world that have been praying for us all through this tragic event.

We also want to say a special thank you to all the amazing staff that have cared for our son and brother here in the pediatric intensive care unit at Harborview.

Our family is overwhelmed with the love and care that has been provided to our loved one during this time and you all will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

But we also ask that you respect our privacy at this time of our deep loss."

My heart sank when I read this, really sad news
Thoughts especially with Nate who must be feeling absolutely lost and broken right now.
 
Sigh :( I just read some tweets saying he's gone. RIP Andrew.
 
We had gone so long with no updates... This was the outcome I expected but I still prayed for a miracle. RIP Andrew.

MARYSVILLE – Following a tradition set by survivors of the Columbine High School shooting, the Marysville School District and Tulalip Tribes were presented a dreamcatcher symbolizing survival, on November 3.
During a modified school district board meeting, representatives from Sandy Hook Elementary and delegates from the Red Lake Nation in Minnesota gave the dreamcatcher and shared their story of healing.
The dreamcatcher was gifted to Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, following a shooting that left 13 people dead in 1999. It has since been passed onto other school districts that have experienced similar tragedies and evolved into emblem of healing for survivors.
John Oakgrove of the Little Thunderbirds Drum and Dance Troupe from Red Lake Minnesota made the trek from Red Lake as a sign of unity. Survivors of Columbine took the dreamcatcher to the Red Lake Reservation following a school shooting there in 2005 that left 10 people dead, including the 16-year-old shooter. Oakgrove has travelled to present the dreamcatcher since, taking along his children who sing honor songs for survivors as part of the healing process. He was there when the dreamcatcher was presented to Sandy Hook Elementary School officials in 2012 following the deaths.

Yes compassion is an admirable trait to possess. I often have it for sufferers of domestic abuse that kill their abusive spouses. Just don't have in it me to feel it for this guy. He had a plan, lured these poor innocent children into a situation they couldn't escape and executed them. And cowardly at that. He couldn't even face them. All because his feelings were hurt.

There is no excuse that can explain that away for me.

On a side note I do not remember much empathy for Harris and Klebold. Is it because of his looks? Being an athlete? His popularity ? I find it very perplexing.

This is my first post so I hope I do it right.
My heart goes out to the victims and the families of the Marysville High School Shooting.
I am so amazed by these children and how they have looked way beyond the reason why this awful tragedy occurred. I'm not sure if I could be so forgiving. These children have taught the world about love, compassion and forgiveness and the importance of coming together as one. J,Z,G,S,A I'm not gone only my outer shell is. I am the Angel that will glow upon you. I'm the Angel that will keep you strong. Stop the tears my love ones I am not gone.

I would say it's a cultural difference. Native Americans are raised to forgive and overcome hatred.
 
Bringing the dream catcher to school and having the children drum is a ceremony for the spirits of those lost. It is a healing and comforting ceremony; while Jaylen's actions caused tragedy, no member of his community wishes his spirit to not be at rest. It is an act of compassion.

To those on the outside, unfamiliar with the culture, it may seem wrong but to those of us who are Indian, it is just a natural thing. To Traditionals, there is no concept of Hell, there is just walking over to the next phase of life, one that is metaphysical. Those who have passed are still 'connected' to those who are living. No one, my self included, would wish unrest for Jaylen's spirit. It is a part of the meaning of the term 'Mitakuye Oyasin'; 'All My Relations' on this Earth and in the Spirit World.
