I want to google "How hard it is to cut up a human body," but I don't want to end up on a list.
Does anyone have any idea? Is his something that would have required special tools? Expertise? Perhaps he has experience with hunting?
All I can think is that there must have been a lot of blood. And how could someone ever do that. Imagine going thru and seeing the organs.

I would bet money this isn't his first time.

Clearly what he did was not to prevent identification or he wouldn't have chosen such an obvious place to put the body. It must have been part the thrill. How sick and twisted he must be.

I don't know, but I do think it took some experience because it would take a willingness to make the cut and put the pressure on to actually dismember. I would assume you'd have to build up to being able to do that, or being in a really drugged-up state, which is also a possibility.

It also took the right tools. Did he find what he needed in her home? He could hardly enter a baseball stadium concealing enough weapons for the job.

Perhaps he spent time as a hunter in his life?

I saw him on the news. I can't remember what he said but the poor man seemed distressed and saddened.

This article says he was returning from a funeral when he found the body. I mean JEEZ that's even more awful.

The man who found the remains on Saturday afternoon was returning from a funeral to his home on the 1600 block of 21st Avenue. He parked his car then went out to pull in his recycling bin.

Right, makes sense, a hunter would know how to do that.

What I read about the person who found them was he went to bring in the can and felt heaviness to it. He opened the can and saw 3 bags thag were pretty full.. I'm guessing he saw something that made him want to look in the bag. Thank god he did.

Warning - This article has a picture of the bags laying near the recycling bin. :( http://kuow.org/post/body-parts-found-central-district-recycling-bin
It says there were two medium sized bags that were about 3/4 full. From the look of the bags laying there, they don't look very "full".

I hate to post this...but where is the rest of her? Any word that police are still searching?

Does anyone in the area know if this woman's body found in SeaTac last year (in a suitcase/duffle bag near a trash bin) was ever identified or if there was any update?

http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/crime/body-found-in-suitcase-at-seatac-apartment-complex/

ETA: Woman was identified as a rehab patient from Utah. Last seen working a concession stand at Safeco Field.

Another Edit: Thanks to another post for finding the update that the crime related to Jenna was solved.

We touched on this a bit yesterday, and we're not sure :( Police did check neighboring bins, but nothing else was found. Lake Washington, maybe? Another neighborhood? Her vehicle? A lot of possibilities.

Looks like it was solved.

It took some digging as so many articles have been updated. This KIRO 7 video includes an earlier interview with Ingrid's neighbor (1:04). He said her ex went to her house Saturday morning to drop off the kids and she wasn't there. "So he called her, of course, the phone and the purse were left in the house. So, you know, he called the police."

Earlier articles also said police forced their way inside Saturday afternoon and were there for several hours, and that they returned Saturday night, leaving at 3am Sunday (again, from the neighbor who said he stayed up until they left). At least two articles I've scanned today said police didn't arrive at her home until late Saturday night which is inconsistent with earlier reports.

Hi alexwood, the link indicates the Residence Inn was in Snohomish County.

"Police officers and U.S. Marshals arrested Charlton without incident in Snohomish County, where he was staying in a Residence Inn."

Also, from link in the "SPD Blotter":

cooperation with the Renton Police Department, a search warrant was served in their jurisdiction.
Evidence was recovered during the service of the search warrant.
Based on the investigation, a suspect was identified.
Early this morning, as a result of this on-going investigation an adult male suspect was taken into custody in Snohomish County.

:cow:

I'm surprised he wouldn't have taken her phone. Not that LE wouldn't be able to track down the info based on phone records, but taking the phone would at least stall them. This doesn't seem very well planned out on his part unless he didn't care that he got caught (like another poster was surmising).

Right, makes sense, a hunter would know how to do that.

It looks like his family has property in Idaho. He very well could have hunting experience. Also a butcher would know how to do it. A chef or serious home cook could figure it out - think about cutting up a whole chicken. His family appears to have horses, maybe they also have or had livestock and did their own butchering?
