I am so stressed out, so close to me....I don't know what to do with myself. I have read so many true crime books and have now followed murder trials, I just don't feel optimistic. Kinda frozen emotions, too. I can cry easily but, I just can't go there as if this were my personal family. I imagine this is what LE must go through to keep emotions in check. Can't believe this is happening. But, I feel anger towards parents, as they were not very protective.

It looks like today might be garbage day, but I would be really surprised if LE lets Waste Management in to pick up.

Glad there will be a press briefing at 4:30. Do they let the public attend? If so, I will try to go.

As of about 30 mins ago, I did see a search group with dog forming up across the street where there is a clearing and cut trees (just slightly to the south of the park and on the opposite side of the road (west side).

PS. The creeper camper is still parked at Walmart.

Can you please help me out by looking at the map and pointing out where the clearing is where they were searching? I am having trouble finding it.

It's hard when it's so close to home. Ethan Stacy was local to me (his home not the home where he died) and I know his family. I found it to difficult to even open his threads. I really appreciate all that you and the other locals have shared in this case. It matters that people are standing up for Jenise now and are determined to find her.

Sorry this is affecting you so badly.

ETA: Actually it was probably further north a bit. Hard to say exactly.

Do any of you remember the case of the little girl who was killed by the building maintenance kid? Was it Joralee (sp)? He sexually assaulted her in an empty apartment, then put her in the compactor roll-off bin which was in the apartment complex. We all watched the GBI take that bin and search it. Horrible, horrible case. Her Mom, was also lax on supervision IIRC (that does not intimate I think she was to blame). I think the kid who killed her ended up committing suicide in jail shortly after he was arrested.

Sorry to preempt the thread. The case just reminded me of this one and Jerise. Thank you Jules for the boots on the ground reporting.

yes, Joreslys Rivera. (and yes he did kill himself) Also, iirc, Sandra Cantu case was a little similar to this one insofar as we know (esp with the neighborhood being so capsulated). Of course in Sandra's case it was not a male perp but female Sunday school teacher, Melissa Huckaby.

IF those sightings are true, then perhaps they just are lousy parents (MOO) who did happily let their 6 year old have total freedom to come and go as she pleased with no boundaries, and seemingly no concerns as to where she was, who she was with, if she ate or not, or what she got up to. I find it hard to believe that any parent could be happy with that arrangement to be honest, as I still don't let my 9 year old go out into the neighbourhood unless he is with at least one of his older brothers (aged 13 and 15).

IF she did really get up and go out on the Sunday, then maybe she had an accident and she could be trapped somewhere within the boundaries of their trailer park or in a stretch of water.

However, if that is the case, it still doesn't excuse the parents' lack of concern and delay in reporting her missing..... which does make me keep an open mind when it comes to thinking it could be family-related. Makes me sad that some parents really can't be bothered to look after their little ones properly.

This is really troublesome....I read that 9 sexual predators have been identified in the surrounding area.

I wonder if a neighbor or visitor may have ran over her and panicked. A horrible accident is better than thinking that someone she loved and trusted harmed her. The outcome is the same but at least betrayal wouldn't have been the last thing she knew.

Yes I remember it well since it was near where I live. And I'd recently separated from my husband (we are back together in case any comments I make in other threads cause confusion) and moved into an apartment complex; wouldn't let my kids walk the 500 yards to the bus stop alone I was so freaked out about that (first time I ever lived in an apartment, who knows who could be peering out their windows...).

Does anyone remember a case maybe a year or so ago, that was similar. A little girl that if I recall correctly was about 5 years old. The father was employed at a dam of some sort?? The little girl wandered most days with the family dog. The dog returned home wet, without the child. Neighbors had called child protective services on multiple occasions and were quite outspoken about how they had feared for this little one. It didn't end well with her body being found in a waterway. I pray this case has a happier ending.

Hoping to once and for all put the whole Sea Fair speculation to rest. It may be a big deal in the news but it's really NOT a big deal to *many* in Bremerton. I was born there and lived there 31 years and only went to Sea Fair once. Many have never been at all. To make it clear, to get to Lake Washington in Seattle (where the hydroplane races are held) from Steele Creek Mobile Home park, you'd have to drive from e. Bremerton to w. Bremerton, downtown, then get on the ferry (and that's an hour across to Seattle) then drive up to Lake Washington. Seriously, it's no where near this park.

Sorry but I still can not get out of my mind that they didn't report her missing until almost 24hrs since last seeing her. I let me daughters play in the yard by themselves (we live in the country) but am always checking on them. If I find one without the other it is always where's your sister. Once I couldn't find them started to freak out racing around the house calling their name running inside and then back out...soon did find them...as I was going out one door they were coming in the other. Was the family out looking for her and that is why it took them so long to report. And the dad saying she is a spoiled brat and that the other kids don't like her. That doesn't sit right with me especially after looking at moms fb. Praying that this sweet little girl is found safe.

Yes, she was such a beautiful little girl and her parents were so nonchalant about her habit of wandering off. The most vigil of parents can't guarantee that harm will never come to their children but that doesn't mean you throw your hands up in the air and raise a free range child.

It's about time! We need new info before we start fighting over Sea Fair again.

ETA: Wait, 4:30? Isn't that like 4 hours or so from now? Does nobody in Washington get in a hurry?

I'm in WA, and I'm definitely in a hurry to hear news about this little gal!!
:gaah:

Taking so long to get the presser together makes me feel like they don't have much info and hope they get something before they have to speak.... :sigh:
