The two oldest sisters of missing six-year-old Bremerton girl, Jenise Wright, are speaking out for the first time. They say they feel the need to publicly defend their mother and stepfather and do what they can to make sure their baby sister is found.

Comments by the general public everywhere have been so condemning (understandably so but not necessarily appropriate) ... this must be so hard on the other family members! I hope they get answers soon!

BBM-If the manager does background checks on the owners, how did the father get through the background check?

Maybe he's not an "owner" ... Wife, parents, siblings ... So many possibilities if all adults weren't checked ...

With each new piece of info that comes out it just seems to look worse and worse.

I'm still holding out hope for a miracle.

Does anyone know if the search of all the trailers is completed? I know they were searching like close to 100 so I doubt it but was just curious.

He's not the owner? Or possibly they don't deny for a 15 year old assault plea and are only looking for RSOs, which he technically is not?

Just catching up. LE does not believe Jenise was kidnapped? What do they think happened to her then?

I think they don't know for sure- I saw an article earlier (I will try to find a link again) that the FBI's child abduction team has been deployed, but I know earlier reports said LE was unsure if it was an abduction or something else (wandered off and got lost/hurt, family member, etc.)

At the PC they said about half have been checked so far and all vacant homes.

No background checks on visitors either! I am not following why LE thinks there has not been an abduction. Maybe they are referring to someone driving by and kidnapping her and driving away. If they feel someone has her in their home, or they have done her harm within the trailer park, that is not necessarily considered an "abduction". And then again, they may have a lot more evidence they are not letting the public know about and they think foul play which would not necessarily be an abduction. MOO

I'm worried they don't think abduction at all ... Focusing maybe on home life ... :(

So hoping for a miracle in this little girls life. I have been following a couple of cases with bad outcomes and could use a miracle right now. Sometimes I have to just not read here because it makes me too sad....

Regarding the above, since the two children were taken on Monday, maybe they have been able to give LE information???

That's felony assault. This 4th degree assault is a misdemeanor , although a ' gross misdemeanor' which really is a silly term. The most serious misdemeanor but still not a felony, is what I would understand that to mean.

Child molestion is a felony. My point was that in Washington the responding officer investigates at the scene and decides whether a felony has been committed. If so, then he must make an arrest. That may be what happened with JW and I'm guessing he either ended up pleading down from molestation to assault or was offered to have the more serious charge dropped. It's also possible more than one person was assaulted but again, we don't have a complete picture so I'm just speculating.

Generally, especially with children, they simultaneously focus on all avenues and rule nothing out, even when media makes it appear they are leaning heavily one way. FBI is involved, and if they have something like we do here in GA (CART--child abduction response team), they have many, many people working simultaneously on a multitude of angles...even if they aren't sure the child's been abducted.

Must be very difficult for the two young women having their baby sister missing, caring for their other siblings, dealing with the press and trying to defend their mother to the public. They're adults, but very young adults. Hope they have lots of support from other family members and friends.

Two adult sisters of the missing girl said Tuesday they are taking care of their younger siblings. Coralise Almajero, 23, and Melanie Davis, 20, told KING-TV (http://is.gd/Zr9yBN) they also feel the need to defend their mother and stepfather.

"From Jenise being gone, and CPS taking the kids away from her, it's tough. It's really tough on her," Davis said of her mother, Denise Wright.

Almajero responded to comments about her little sister's freedom to play in the neighborhood.

"She stays in the neighborhood. She knows you don't leave," Almajero said. "She knows you don't go in people's houses. You go and play with your friends, you come and check in."

Other residents in the park described Jenise as outgoing and unafraid to talk to anyone.

"She's really independent. She's tenacious," the girl's father, James Wright, told KOMO-TV, describing the neighborhood as safe and saying his daughter roamed the park.

Jenise's family sure put a lot of faith in a six year old's ability to always do the right thing, and be able to discern an adult's motive or behavior.

I understand that she has always been allowed to roam around alone, but that's a lame excuse, and they should quit repeating it as if it's defensible.

Besides that, per their own protocol above; Jenise DID NOT "check in" with anyone Sunday, so how did that "usually" work? If it got close to dinner time and she failed to show up, send one of the siblings to go look for her and bring her home? Sighhhh ...

eta: sorry, way behind here, double post

Also from this link:

"She stays in the neighborhood. She knows you don’t leave," said Almajero. "She knows you don’t go in people’s houses. You go and play with your friends, you come and check in."

They say people don’t understand what they don’t know.

"You’re not the one missing a sister or a daughter," Almajero said. "You don’t know how our family is. You don’t know our family."

The sisters say their focus is to keep their siblings safe and keep the kids' minds off the fact that their baby sister is missing."
